WHO WE ARE Since 1964, Fly Fishers International (FFI) has been the organized voice for fly fishers around the world. We represent all aspects of fly fishing from the art of fly tying and casting, to the protection of and access to fisheries around the world. Three pillars conservation, education and community provide the foundation for our vision of the future of fly fishing a future in which anglers have access to prime waters where fish can thrive in healthy, protected habitats; in which learning never stops and artistry is not forgotten; and that recognizes the true value of camaraderie. If we want this legacy to be experienced by future generations, we have to work to make it happen and that can only happen if we work together. The FFI Annual Fair offers workshops, programs, and instruction from some of the best and most recognized people in the fly fishing community. FACTS ABOUT OUR ATTENDEES:» 70% travel more than 500 miles to attend.» 82% will stay 4 days or longer.» 67% make their trip into a vacation.» 58% said they return to the Fair location for vacations or fishing.» 61% spend $1,000 to $3,000 during their visit.» 45% have an annual income of $50,000-$100,000» 35% have an annual income over $100,000» Expecting 2,000 local and regional visitors» 400-500 attendees have preregistered from all over the world

MAKE A DIFFERENCE Our volunteers work every year in their local areas to further the mission of Fly Fishers International through conservation, education and building the community of fly fishers. Your support will enable our members to continue these efforts at local, national, and international levels. LEAVE A LEGACY Part of Fly Fishers International s mission is to teach and foster the next generations of conservation stewards through our Learning Center and local volunteer efforts. It is our intent to ensure that robust populations of freshwater and saltwater fish continue to thrive and that all future generations will have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy natural world. Your participation helps us continue this important work.

INTERNATIONAL FLY FISHING FAIR & FISHFEST For 52 years, The International Fly Fishing Fair has served as the annual gathering place for members from all over the globe. With over 100 seminars, workshops and on-the-water demonstrations, this event is unparalleled in the North American market. Fly Fishers International has consistently assembled the world s finest tyers and casters along with the region s most prominent guides and instructors to present a week-long educational opportunity for passionate anglers (from beginner to advanced) to develop their skills. Additionally, this event serves as an opportunity for council leadership to assemble and strategize for the coming year as well as for key influencers, educators, and change-makers to be celebrated with the industry s top honours. Fly Fishers International has recently undergone a rebranding in which all aspects of the organization have been closely examined and significant changes have been implemented. The board and leadership of FFI have methodically discussed each program, partnership, resource, event, communication tool and process to ensure that it aligns with the overlying mission to support, enhance and preserve fly-fishing opportunities with a specific focus on conservation, education and community. So, the task at hand is to improve on this time-tested annual event, and we believe 2018 will mark a turning point in re-establishing this as an event not to be missed. We are pleased to announce that the 53rd Annual International Fly Fishing Fair will be held in the heart of fly-fishing country Boise, ID. Not only is this vibrant community easily accessible with direct flights from major city centers across the country, but it is also home to, and surrounded by, a rich and dense community of passionate anglers.

A SHOW NOT TO BE MISSED! Boise...Making a Difference Boise Centre is a first class, state of the art, urban convention center conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants and some of the city s best accommodations. We will emphasize an outreach to regional and local markets to attend the fair via our revitalized FishFest! This purely fly-fishing consumer trade show will take place in the 25,000 square foot exhibit hall within the Boise Centre and will include a brand new 80-foot casting pond, perfect for demonstrating and testing all the latest equipment. Attendees of the 2018 FishFest will enjoy demonstrations from celebrity presenters like Gary Borger, Brian O Keefe, Dave Whitlock and dozens of talented fly tiers hailing from all over the world. Further, we have incorporated both time-tested events and new events including the Iron Fly competition, youth skills development, FFI Women Connect, author s booth, silent auction, raffles and much more. In order to ensure the success of this new event we have retained the services of a known marketing agency that specializes in reaching the fly-fishing community. A dynamic national, regional and local marketing campaign has been identified and will be rolled out over the next few months. In addition to our own network of communication tools, which primarily serve to reach our council network and member community, we will be utilizing a variety of media platforms to reach Boise and surrounding areas. We are confident this strategy will ensure maximum attendance at the brand new FishFest.

YOUR participation HELPS SUPPORT OUR PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS, SUCH AS THESE: CONSERVATION: PUBLIC POLICY ADVOCACY Preservation of public lands and access, as well as maintaining healthy habitats for fisheries, is necessary for our sport to remain viable for future generations. We have supported the protection of the Clean Water Act, the National Monuments and Antiquities Act, and been actively involved with partners in protecting Bristol Bay for nearly a decade. EDUCATION: THE FFI LEARNING CENTER The FFI Learning Center is a new initiative that brings together FFI s expertise in Fly Casting, Fly Tying, Fly Fishing Skills, and Conservation Education. The Learning Center focuses on educational and instructional programs for all fly fishers at all skill levels.
