He has coached at Waterloo Collegiate Institute for two years(2013-2015), where they were back-to- back regional champions. In 2013, he was sent on a professional trial with CF Badalona in Barcelona, Spain. Although a player for the trial, observing different philosophies of the game and seeing coaching at the highest level proved to be an invaluable learning experience as a coach. This past summer as a skills instructor, Nik developed and executed summer camp programs and helped competitive teams throughout their summer training sessions. Most recently, he successfully completed the training for the CSA C license and has ambitions to continually pursue coach development. Nik is happy to be on board as an AGHC and is eager to see the positive results of the program for both players and coaches!

GOALS OF GRASSROOTS SOCCER To ensure this first experience is fun and enjoyable and revolves around child-friendly soccer. Most of all, it is to have them fall in love with the game. To provide an opportunity for players to use their imaginations, be creative and learn through trial and error. Mistakes are OK. To offer age and stage appropriate development activities with improved playing formats such as 5v5, 7v7 and 9v9 with ball, goal and field size appropriate to physical and cognitive stage development. To educate coaches so they will make the soccer experience a challenging, positive and nurturing one for all young players regardless of ability, that leads to Soccer for Life.
