General Points of Eligibility Milestone Event Performance Target/s Context and Purpose of Milestone Event and Championship Selection Selection Process Archers are eligible for consideration provided they are: An Archery GB member in good standing. Have satisfied all eligibility under the rules of World Archery (WA), and subject to any changes it may introduce, subsequent to the publication of the policy. Available for selection of the stated event. Hold a current full UK passport, valid for at least six months after return date of the event. Have met the selection criteria (see below). World Cups World Championships & European Games & OQT OQT Top 8 individual 1 x Team medal per event World Cups Archery GB will use the World Cup 2019 events to prepare athletes as part of men and women s teams, capable of winning a medal and achieving Olympic places. 1 medal 2 Team qualifications for Tokyo 2020 World Championships & OQT Archery GB will use the World Championships 2019, with the aim of winning a medal and achieving two teams qualified for the Olympic Games. 1 medal Mixed team qualifications for Tokyo 2020 European Games &OQT With the aim of winning a medal and achieving a mixed team qualification for the Olympic Games. Athletes representing Archery GB at international competition in 2019, will be required to go through the stated selection process and meet the criteria below. The Director of Sport (DoS) and AGB National Coach (NC), will consider only athletes deemed to be competitive at this level, and may elect to take fewer than the maximum permitted athletes for these events. Athletes will move through three stages of a selection process (appendix B): Stage 1 Invitation to the selection process. Stage 2 Selection and ratification of the team. - 2 -

Stage 3 Representation. Selected athletes will be required to maintain or improve their standards in line with the selection criteria to participate in the event and represent Great Britain. Athletes are required to complete all stages of the selection process to be eligible for selection. Should an athlete not be able to participate in part of the selection process due to illness, injury or international representation, they will need approved medical or programme exemption from Archery GB personnel. Further consideration of this athlete will be done in line with criteria below. Due to the 2019 World Championships and Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in the second week of June, and the European Games OQT at the end of June, there is a need to determine selection earlier in the season than normal and a need to achieve higher standards of international levels of performance, earlier in the season than normal. On the premise that we require internationally competitive athletes in order to achieve our medal performance targets, we will be using a points-based system, which gives value for results and performances in 2017/2018 as well as points and bonus points for performances achieved through the selection process. Nominations The Team Appeals Following the conclusion of the selection process Announcement Any matters not covered by this Policy Following the completion of the designated selection process listed in this policy, the AGB National Coach will make nominations to the Director of Sport. The Team means the team which is selected by Archery GB which includes athletes, coaches, nominated reserves, medical support personnel, team leaders and any associated members of the team. Once athletes have been advised of their selection by Director of Sport, they must agree not to withold any information on availability, fitness, injury status or illness that could affect their training or competiviteness at any time until the conclusion of the event. 2. All selected athletes must declare any medications they are taking, in particular, the use of any restricted medications and that they hold a valid Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) which can be produced when required by the relevant authority. 3. An athlete will be required to sign up to the Team Members Agreement and any breach of this may result in disciplinary action including removal from the team and possible early return home from an event. In this case, any member sent home will be invoiced for the full cost of their entry into the event and any additional cost incurred in sending them home. Decisions on these matters are open to appeal as allowed by the relevant Archery GB Disciplinary process effective at the time of the incident. 4. Athletes selected for the team are required to attend all related training camps and compeitions agreed in the required event preparation process from the selection announcement onwards. 5. Athletes and other team members will be expected to demonstrate they can actively contribute to the team unity required to be a successful international team and will be required to maintain or improve standards and behaviours to participate for Archery GB. Selected team members must agree not to make any announcement to the media or public in any form (including on any social or other media), regarding their selection until after Archery GB have announced the selection on the Archery GB Website www.archerygb.org Any matters arising from the selection process, which are not covered within this policy, shall be determined by the Director of Sport. - 3 -

MEDICAL PERSONNEL APPROVED BY ARCHERY GB Dr Chris Tomlinson (Archery GB Chief Medical Officer) and/or EIS regional Doctor nominated by the CMO. APPENDIX B SELECTION PROCESS & CRITERIA STAGE 1: Obtaining an invitation to the Selection Process Minimum standards are set for entry into the selection process. 1. Registration and Performance Tracking Archery GB will track the performance trajectories of athletes in line with what it takes to win on the Olympic stage 1.1 Athletes can register scores achieved in 720 rounds at WRS international events and international competitions or comparable events. 1.2 Registration in this tracking system will automatically be taken as an expression of interest for entry to the selection process. 1.3 It is the athlete s sole responsibility to ensure they register their scores and that those scores have been accepted 1.4 Archery GB also reserves the right to take into consideration other aspects, including athlete conduct and previous performances, when considering invitations to the selection process. It is not an athlete s right under any circumstances to be invited. Where other elements are taken into account, the athlete has a right to be given the explanation as well as a right to appeal. 2. Performance Standards for Consideration to be Invited to the Selection Process Minimum performance standards have been set for Archery GB to allow athletes to qualify for the selection process. These scores do not constitute a minimum level for consideration for nomination or selection, only a minimum standard set for athletes to engage in the process. The minimum thresholds on a 720-round set are from 21 March 2018 to 13 March 2019 are: Men Minimum level and Frequency for consideration to enter the selection process 2 x 650 at 70m 2 x 630 at 70m Athletes who achieve World Championship medals will be in receipt of UK Sport APA Funding, the status of which lasts two years. Subsequently, any such athletes automatically become a member of the National Recurve Squad and is eligible to participate in the Selection process. - 4 -

STAGE 2: Selection and ratification of the team including performance standards for nomination 3. Selection Competition to be held at the Antalya Spring Competition, Bagatir, Turkey 25 31 March 2019. Invites will be sent to archers who have satisfied the above performance standards (STAGE 1 1.2) in 2018. Archers will enter into the selection process competition in Antalya with initial bonus points as follows: Top three score average in 2018 at WRS, or internationally comparable events. 3 points 1 st, 2 points 2 nd, 1 point 3 rd International medals at World Championships 2017 and World Cups 2018 3 points for each international medal. Through the Bagatir camp, Archers will achieve further cumulative points through the following: Cumulative score bonus points for any scores shot at Antalya 720s on the 28 and 31 March 2019. 28 March 2019 29 March 2019 31 March 2019 3 points: 670 men; 660 women 2 points: 665 men; 655 women 1 point: 660 men; 650 women 2 x 720 70m rounds of the GB Antalya selection tournament 720 bonus points for position of GB Archers (points for the double 720, not singularly) 1 st place 12 points 2 nd place 10 points 3 rd place 8 points 4 th place 6 points 5 th place 4 points 6 th place 2 points 1 st round robin competition for the top 8 GB Archer at 70m. Points available: 3 points for the archer with the highest 3 arrow score average over all matches 2 points for the second highest 3 arrow score average score over all matches. 1 point for the third highest 3 arrow score average score over all matches. 1 bonus point for any mens matches shot with 3 arrow score average of 28 or above. 1 bonus point for any women matches shot with a 3 arrow score average of 27.5 or above. 2 nd double 720 at 70m, archers will achieve cumulative points for the following: - 5 -

1 April 2019 1 st place 12 points 2 nd place 10 points 3 rd place 8 points 4 th place 6 points 5 th place 6 points 6 th place 2 points 2 nd round robin competition at 70m for the top 8 GB Archers. Points available: 3 points for the archer with the highest 3 arrow score average score over all matches. 2 points for the second highest 3 arrow score average score over all matches. 1 point for the third highest 3 arrow score average score over all matches. Also, 1 bonus point for any mens matches shot with 3 arrow score average of 28 or above. 1 bonus point for any womens matches shot with a 3 arrow score average of 27.5 or above. STAGE 3: Moving from Selection to Competing for Great Britain As a result, of the Bagatir selection process, the top three men and top three women on accumulative points basis will automatically be selected for 2019 GB Team to compete at the Shanghai and Antalya World Cups. The National Coach will make recommendations to the Director of Sport for the fourth place athlete based on the international competiveness of the team. After the two World Cups, results and performances based on the following criteria will determine the selection of the men and women s teams for the World Championships, and OQT and European Games and OQT. Criteria for selection of the final three: Podium either as team or individual in either of World Cups will automatically be selected for World Championships. a) Podium b) Average Ranking c) Score average d) International competitiveness Any final ties will be decided by a shoot off match between the archers. Selection is made in line with competitive performance standards on the international stage. 1 Maintenance and Improvement of Standards 1.1 Athletes are required to maintain or improve standards and behaviour s to participate for Archery GB. 1.2 Athletes will be expected to demonstrate ability to engage in the performance environment, adopt an effective performance lifestyle and make a positive contribution to the team unity required to be a successful international team. 1.3 Archery GB reserve the right to deselect an athlete and/or nominate a different athlete on the basis of competitive performance standards.
