GET INTO GOLF PROJECTS Women and Girl s in Golf Golf clubs in Cornwall have had some great success with the Get into Golf projects for adults and juniors all over the county. The Cornwall Golf Partnership will be holding free Women and Girls taster sessions at over 15 golf clubs and driving ranges in September and October. The Cornwall Golf Partnership offered every golf club in the county the opportunity of being part of the Get into Golf programme and 12 clubs have benefitted from the project. We will be offering women and girls a one off free taster session followed by a subsidised 5 week structured coaching sessions at each of the participating clubs. Truro Golf Club had 25 new people introduced to golf over a structured 5 week coaching programme with Professional Lee Mitchell, and as a result of the coaching, 7 of the participants joined as members. Mullion Golf Club has had similar success with over 40 people trying golf at the club with Professional Nick Martin. Mullion has had 5 new members from the coaching. Last year we had over 100 Women and Girls take part in the free coaching sessions we held and we are looking at increasing that number to over 200 this year. All the details will be put on the Get into Golf website (www.getintogolf.org) when all the taster session dates have been confirmed. It would be fantastic to get more golf clubs in Cornwall involved with growing the game and increasing the number of people that participate in golf. For more information about organising free taster sessions for beginners and the benefit being part of the Get into Golf project can be for your club, please contact Simon.
