JIU-JITSU THE BASICS THE BOOK In order to be able to train effectively in Jiu-Jitsu, this book has been designed to cover the basic positions, techniques, and combinations required. In almost a thousand step by step photographs, the techniques are fully explained, so that Jiu- Jitsuka of any standard will be able to follow them and use them. In addition, the reader will learn the basic groundwork of self-defense, self-defense against attacks with weapons (stick and knife), as well as attacks using firearms at close range. Another feature of Jiu-Jitsu The Basics are lessons concerning locking, throwing, striking and kicking techniques. Jiu-Jitsu The Basics will not only allow every Jiu-Jitsuka to prepare him/herself effectively for a grading test, it will also provide the trainer with a comprehensive reference book. THE AUTHOR Christian Braun has been practicing various forms of Martial Arts for 20 years. Amongst other things he is a Grand Master in Ju-Jutsu (5th Dan). He is the holder of further Master titles in traditional Jiu-Jitsu systems and is an instructor in Progressive Fighting Systems, Madunong Guro in Eskrima and Luta-Livre. For several years he has instructed on national courses throughout Germany for the German Ju-Jutsu Association, and has officiated as the main instructor for instructor training for the German Association.
