Uitgawe/Issue 267 Concipio Page 2 Pronto! Once again the voices of some 1200 boys fill the hallways of Paul Roos Gymnasium as the third term starts off with a bang! We are not even used to waking up at 6:00 am in the morning yet, and already there are a lot of things happening in and around the school. The first hockey team won an international tournament and altogether seven PRG boys have been included in SA national school sports teams. All of this after Craven Week returned to the town where it all started. Another upcoming event that has every matric pupil all excited is the fact that soon there will be only 40 days left for the class of 2015. This is significant only, of course, because we now realise how little time there is left for the Matrics before writing their September and final exams. For some reason, Grade 8 s mysteriously disappear and end up dancing on matric tables. I wonder why? However, on a sad note, Cecil, a protected lion, who was enjoying the freedom and security of his habitat, was unfortunately shot and killed by a trophy hunter. While the social media platforms is abuzz with non-flattering comments, all we can say, is Rus sag, ou Grote! Foto s: Inus Grobler

Uitgawe/Issue 267 Concipio Page 7 Mullets & Mohawks... the 80s are back! Julian Bock On Tuesday, 28 July 2015, the Paul Roos drama department performed their production of Mullets & Mohawks in front of a live audience in the Japie Krige Hall. The plot goes roughly as follows: Two boys, who are escaping the terrors of bullies at school, take refuge in their father's 'man cave'. Through unexpected events, the two are transported back to the 1980s, where they are encountered by several iconic television and film stars, featuring characters like Mr Miyagi from The Karate Kid, Ms Fletcher from Murder, she wrote as well as the entire legendary A-Team. Only with the help of one of the small screen s most famous action heroes and professional escapees, MacGyver, can the boys escape this predicament and return to the man cave just in time before the father arrives. This humbling story, written and directed by Ms Esther von Waltsleben in conjunction with Mr Jan-Hendrik Opperman made the crowd roar with laughter some members of the audience even started jiving and doing the Sprinkler move in honour of the good old 80s music used in this production. Currently, the Paul Roos drama group is in Springbok to represent their school in the annual Drama Festival. Die toekennings is as volg: Dramaturg: Esther von Waltsleben Goud; Regisseur Esther von Waltsleben; Assistent-regisseur Lieb Loots, silver; Luke White Goud; Thys Sutherland Silver; Thomas Winter Silver; Emilio Abrahams Silver. Dis glo bibberkoud in Springbok!
