IMPORTANT PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USING YOUR PITCHTRACKER TM SMART BALL This User Guide contains important safety, handling and warranty information, as well software license information for your Smart Ball. Please read carefully before using your Smart Ball. Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock or other personal injury and/or damage to your Smart Ball or other property. When you perform a repetitive activity, such as pitching a ball, you may experience occasional discomfort or fatigue. Consult a physician if issues persist. Your Smart Ball contains sensitive electronic components. Do not attempt to modify or repair your Smart Ball yourself. Disassembling your Smart Ball will void the manufacturer s warranty. The Smart Ball contains small parts and is a choking hazard. It is not appropriate for children under the age of three. Your Smart Ball is water resistant and can be used in the rain. For more information see the Smart Ball Care Instructions section of this User Guide. Unplug the USB power cable and discontinue use if it has become damaged or has been exposed to rain, liquid or excessive moisture.

PACKAGE CONTENTS What comes in the Box Smart Ball Pack of O-Rings Charging Station with USB connection Works with the free PitchTracker ios App USING YOUR SMART BALL Turn On Your Smart Ball To turn your Smart Ball on, simply toss it up in the air. Go into your PitchTracker app to make sure that your Smart Ball is connected. If the Bullpen, Long Toss and Throw Now! options are available your Smart Ball is on. The Smart Ball will automatically turn off after a few minutes of inactivity. Pair your Smart Ball You will need to pair the Smart Ball to your ios device to collect data. Go to Settings > Bluetooth Enable Bluetooth in the Settings Menu, if it is not already on. Select the "PitchTracker Smart Ball. If you do not see PitchTracker in the device list Confirm that the Smart Ball is on Confirm that the Smart Ball is charged. If it is not, go to the Charging your Smart Ball section Check that it is not connected to another nearby ios device. Confirm your Smart Ball is close to the ios device and try again. Turn off your Smart Ball When your Smart Ball is on and paired, use the menu at the bottom of the screen to select Settings. In Settings, scroll down to the Smart Ball On menu and tap the Smart Ball icon. Your Smart Ball will shut off after 15 minutes without use. Charge your Smart Ball Plug the charging station into a powered USB port. Place an O-Ring in the

center of the charging pad. There will be a graphic on the Smart Ball showing a charging cord. Place the Smart Ball graphic side down on top of the O-Ring on the charger. When charging your Smart Ball, you are not able to transfer pitches to your device that you have taken while in Disconnected Mode. To transfer pitches from a Disconnected Mode session, remove your Smart Ball from the charger and use the PitchTracker app to begin to transfer pitch data. Never force a charge cable into the USB port of your Smart Ball charging station. If the charge contact does not easily fit, confirm that they are properly aligned before attempting to insert again. ONLY use the USB charging cable provided to charge your Smart Ball. Diamond Kinetics is not responsible for the operation of third-party accessories. Check Battery Life and Power Determine Battery Charge : A battery indicator is listed at the top of the PitchTracker app screen when you are paired with the app collecting pitch data. Sleep Mode : The Smart Ball will go into sleep mode. It will automatically wake up once the Smart Ball is picked up. The battery will last up to 7 hours with continuous use. PITCHTRACKER APP Download the Mobile App Download and install the PitchTracker app from the ios App Store. Create an Account Open the PitchTracker App. Select SIGN UP, choose COACH or PLAYER and your skill level. Once you select continue, you can enter your profile information to customize your PitchTracker experience. Starting a Long Toss Session

To start a Long Toss session select Long Toss on your homescreen. You will then be able to start a Long Toss session right away. The PitchTracker app will record the distance, velocity and vertical height of your throw. Select End Session to stop collecting data for a pitch session. You can view again it at any time under History on the Summary screen. Starting a Throwing Session To start a throwing sessions select Throw Now! on your homescreen. You will then be able to start a throwing session right away. The PitchTracker app will record your velocity, RPM s and. Select End Session to stop collecting data for a pitch session. You can view again it at any time under History on the Summary screen. Starting a BullPen Session To start a bullpen session select Bullpen Setup on your homescreen. You will then be asked to select a bullpen setup. To create a new bullpen setup select New Setup. To continue with an existing bullpen, select that bullpen. When setting up a new bullpen you will have to determine the amount of pitches to be thrown. Move the slidebar next to the pitch type to the desired number of pitches to be thrown. Keep in mind that the number of pitches in the bullpen will be the sum of all the slidebar values. Once you have decided on the number of pitches and types of pitches to be thrown, you can start your pitch session right away by selecting Mix Them Up. You can also choose the order and location of your pitches by selecting Choose Order. By selecting Choose Order you can choose where certain pitches are thrown. Simply select the type of pitch and then drag it to where you would like to throw it in the strike zone. Once completed you can start your pitch session! Select End Session to stop collecting data for a pitch session. You can view again it at any time under History on the Summary screen. Video You can also capture swing video while taking swings by selecting the Camera icon on the bottom left corner of the pitch session screen.

Make sure that the person taking video is at a safe distance from pitcher during the pitching session. Charting PitchTracker also allows you to chart pitches. To access this feature select the Chart Icon on the bottom of the pitch session screen. To chart a pitch, select the type of pitch from the right side of the screen and drag it to the location in the strike zone. History View To view history select the Calendar Icon on the left side of the menu at the bottom of the home screen. By selecting the calendar icon you will be taken to a screen with a calendar on it. This is your Pitch Count screen. The numbers on individual days represent the number of pitches thrown on that day. If you select a day it will take you to that pitch session summary where you can look at the different metrics of your pitches. To view your performance select the Graph Icon on the left side of the menu at the bottom of the home screen. By selecting this graph icon you will be taken to a screen with several graphs on it. This is your performance screen. The performance screen will show your progress in different pitches over time. If you select the Chart Icon in the bottom right corner you will be taken to your charting performance screen. This screen shows your percentage of hitting spots in certain locations of the strike zone. DK Tip: Here are a few tips to capture the best data: PITCHTRACKER PITCH MEASURES Your Smart Ball will measure # different metrics, including max velocity, spin rate, perceived velocity, extension, hand speed and time to plate.

SMART BALL CARE INSTRUCTIONS Moisture The leather Smart Ball is a similar to a baseball and is not waterproof nor water resistant. Do not submerge your leather Smart Ball in water for a long duration of time. Similar to a baseball, your leather Smart Ball can become waterlogged. The Tango Smart Ball is water resistant. Smart Balls are able to be used in the rain. Do not attempt to dry it with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or hair dryer. Smart Balls that are damaged as a result of exposure to liquids are not serviceable and are not covered by the Manufacturer s Warranty. Usage Smart Balls are not meant to be thrown off of brick or stone. They are only meant to be thrown with partners, doing otherwise may damage you Smart Ball. Smart Balls that are damaged as a result of throwing it against brick or stone are not serviceable and are not covered by the Manufacturer s Warranty. Smart Balls are not meant to be hit with a bat. Doing so may damage your Smart Ball. Smart Balls that are damaged as a result of hitting them with a bat are not serviceable and are not covered by the Manufacturer s Warranty. Storage Store your Smart Ball in a cool, dry place at room temperature. There is no special storage case for Smart Balls. You can use it with your normal baseball/softball gear. Temperature Sensitivity and Storage Avoid exposing your Smart Ball to extreme temperatures. Operate your Smart Ball between 32 and 95 F (0 and 35 C). Avoid dramatic changes in temperature or humidity when using your Smart Ball, as condensation may form within the sensitive electronic components of your Smart Ball.
