February 7 th, 2015 The club had a bunch of bad luck on this shoot. Considerable rain earlier in the week combined with a weather forecast for the day of the shoot of rain and wind, discouraged many shooters from coming. Also, just a few days before, several of the trap houses were flooded because of a construction project taking place on the road leading to the club. The shoot was able to be held with some trap shifting taking place. In spite of the weather (the rain didn t show up but the wind did), 24 hardy shooters shot at 5,200 targets.
Darel Holcomb and Norm Foster topped scoring in the 16 yard event with their 97 s. Kent Harris was high in the doubles event with 93 and Stu Welton won a two round shoot off with Gene Hunt for the handicap champion s buckle after they had tied with 94 s. Harris took the HOA champion with a score of 276 X 300. Sub Junior Jack Nelson from Twin Falls had a really good shoot with wins in all three events and D class HOA. Event 1 100 Singles. 18 Entries. NEWS FLASH!! The PITA average/yearbook arrived today and we were delighted to see that two Idaho shooters qualified for the PITA
national All Star teams. Spud Storey placed on the men s second team and Jim Fultz on the Veteran s first team. It has been quite a while since Idaho has had more than one All Star in the same year, so congratulations to both of our friends for their fine shooting in 2014. PITA Buckmaster Memorial Shoot. Boise Gun Club. February 22 nd, 2015. Once again, for the second shoot in a row, the weather forecast was for bad weather and there was plenty of it in surrounding areas, but the day turned out surprisingly good at the gun club. It was cold early and the wind kicked up once in a while throughout the day but it was a pretty good shooting day for February in Idaho. The highlight of the day had to be Stuart Welton smashing 100 straight in the doubles event to win by 5 birds. Welton, Kent Harris, Darel Holcomb, and Jack Nelson led the singles scoring with their 98 s and John Fulghum topped the handicap event by 2 birds with his 93. Welton took the HOA championship pin with 285 X 300. 37 shooters fired at 9,000 registered targets. There were 14 nice door prizes donated by club members for this shoot and the lucky wnners were: Mary Kay Nelson, Mike Strong, Steve Howell, Marget Walker, Wayne Faude, Joe Turner, Leonard Wehking, Ron Stoltenberg, Gary Miller, Norm Foster, Mark Nelson, Dave Poseley, Gerry Faude, and Jerry Kaster. Special thanks to Marget and Richard Walker for running the lunch counter on short notice. It was greatly appreciated. Event 1 Singles. 30 Entries.
