Willenhall RUFC Newsletter Issue 2 AUGUST 2014 Welcome to the August newsletter. The new season will soon be upon us once again. We have had 2 more work parties since the Nat West rugby weekend so hopefully things are on track for kick off. Deadline for input to the next newsletter is 29 th August, E-mail media@willenhallrufc.co.uk. Thanks! Under 13 s Paintball Day Our Under 13 s enjoyed a team day out paintballing 13 th July with free tickets via Fundrazor from the club. Looks like they had a great time team building before the new season!!

Annual Subs now due Don t forget annual subs are now due and this year with more ways to pay: Visit and pay online Or Pay at the club via credit/debit card or good old cash! Twickenham Training Day On the 8 th June one of our Under 11 players Oliver Deeming was lucky enough to get the chance to train on the hallowed turf of Twickenham. He joined other lucky members of the Junior Supporters Club who were picked in a ballot. He got a training session with Will Greenwood and Scott Quinnell as well as a tour of the stadium. Not sure who looked more excited Deemo Jnr or Deemo Snr!! Hopefully one day we will see Oliver return in England shirt!!

Aussie Rules Saturday 12th July saw the Wolverines host an U16 development game before they took on Nottingham. The squads for the reduced size game saw lads from Brownhill s School and Willenhall Rugby Club join forces to play a scratch match. The Wolverines senior squad coached the youngsters through a short skills session before dividing the group into two teams. Whilst some of the Wolverines remained neutral to umpire, the rest assigned themselves as coaches and cheer squad to one of the teams. The game was frantic and whilst the skills were raw, the enthusiasm, desire and commitment was in abundance. As the game progressed the skills and awareness of the group grew and it culminated in a tight finish which saw one team take the victory by only 3 points. Squad: Liam Jenkins, Zack Hope, Brad Millward, Ashley Pinson, Jake Millward, Nathan Hall, Andy Trembling, Luke Hall, Kieran Venables, Kieron Bradley, Adam Bond.

Charity Concert In conjunction with the Wolverhampton Cambrian Society a Charity Concert to raise money for the Beacon Institute for the Blind. The choir performing are the Brythoniaid from Blaenua Ffestiniog one of the top Choirs from Wales and we are aiming to raise 3,000 for the charity. The concert is at Colton Hills Community School Wolverhampton, starting at 7pm finishing around 9.30pm and the plan is for the choir to come to Willenhall Rugby Club for drinks and food. Should be arriving approximately 10pm and hopefully we will have a second impromptu concert at the club. The evening is part of the events leading up to our 50th anniversary as on our 10th anniversary the same choir came up to Perform at Walsall Town Hall and we raised money then for the Willenhall Fellowship for the Disabled. Good luck to all from Willenhall RUFC who are attending interviews this month to join RWC2015 The Pack look out next month for an insight into the process.
