The Antelopes, who are 6-1-1 on their home field this season, are not only hosting their Senior Night, they are also playing for their playoff lives, making it a do-or-die for the home team. GCU is currently in a three-way tie for fourth place in the league, but with two more teams just two points back, a loss could have the Lopes out of next week s seven-team conference tournament. UNLV meanwhile has clinched at least a top-three finish in the WAC standings. The Rebels are currently tied with Seattle with 18 points, and hold the tiebreaker over the Redhawks as well. The Rebels main goal will be to keep the momentum going after their win over No. 22 Seattle on their Senior Day Oct. 29 in. Following Saturday s contest, the matchups will be announced for the WAC Tournament, hosted by UNLV on Nov. 8-12. Saturday s game will be broadcast live by the YurView channel, available in Las Vegas through Cox Cable on channel 96/1096. It will also be available on ESPN3 and through YouTube as well. MEET THE REBELS There was no doubt who would be at the top of the scoring for UNLV in 2017, as senior forward Danny Musovski, the preseason WAC Player of the Year, currently is third in the nation in scoring with 2.27 points per game (29), and is tied for fifth in goals per game at 0.86 (12). Sophomore midfielder Timo Mehlich and senior midfielder Oscar Velazquez have also been key players for the Rebels this year, with eight and 13 points, respectively. One newcomer that has made a quick impact in his freshman season is Las Vegas native Marco Gonzalez with five goals and six assists for 16 points, which ranks him seventh in the conference. In goal is Enrique Adame, who has started 13 of the 14 contests and has posted a 1.39 GAA with 50 saves and two shutouts. GRAND CANYON NOTES Grand Canyon broke a four-game winless streak in its last game with a 3-2 overtime victory over Utah Valley on Oct. 29. The first three games in the streak had all been on the road. At home in WAC play, GCU is 3-0-1, and has outscored its opponents 11-5. Leading the team in scoring this season is Niki Jackson with 21 points (nine goals, three assists). Three players are tied for second with 11 points each In the goal is Jeremy Pollard, who owns a 1.62 GAA with a.745 save percentage. SECOND RANKED VICTORY OF THE SEASON UNLV claimed its second win of the season over a ranked opponent on Oct. 29 when it knocked off #22 Seattle 2-1 in double-overtime at Peter Johann Memorial Field. MUSOVSKI ADDS MORE NATIONAL WEEKLY HONORS Danny Musovski keeps setting records during his final season with the Scarley and Gray, as he tied the WAC record for most points in a WAC contest with seven off three goals and one assist in a 5-2 win at San Jose State on Oct. 6. That was not only his second hat trick in three games, the seven points is tied for the second most points in the nation this season, behind his NCAA-leading nine point game on Sept. 24. That led to another new record for Musovski, as he is the first player to be named United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week three times in his career, and he s one of only two to earn the award twice in the same season. He was named the WAC Player of the Week as well on Oct. 9. RECORD-SEEING PERFORMANCE FROM MUSOVSKI Danny Musovski made his first home game of the season one for the record books, as he torched Oral Roberts for four goals, tying both the school and conference record, while it was also the most goals scored by a player in the nation this season. He wasn t done, as he then assisted on the fifth score of the day for UNLV. That gave him a school-record tying nine points, which also sets a new WAC mark. That is the highest single game point performance by a player in the NCAA this season as well. WEEKLY HONORS PILE UP FOR MUSOVSKI Thanks to his record-setting game against Oral Roberts, Musovski set even more history, as he became the first Rebel ever to win four conference Player of the Week honors in their career after he was honored by the WAC on Sept. 25. He followed that up with his third all-time National Player of the Week award after he was named by the United Soccer Coaches. This is the second time he has been honored by that organization, while he also was named once by Top Drawer Soccer in 2016. He is the only player in team history ever to have been named national Player of the Week. FRESHMAN SPARKS REBELS TO HOME WIN Undergoing the toughest non-conference slate in decades while also missing the services of its top offensive player, the Rebels found themsevles struggle to find the back of the net, going five straight games without a score following the season-opening win at Portland. It would come to a freshman to break the scoreless streak, as Las Vegas native Marco Gonzalez scored a pair of goals, in the 12th and 66th minutes, to lead the Rebels to a 3-0 win over Gonzaga on Sept. 17 in. Those were the first goals since Aug. 25, snapping the longest scoreless streak for UNLV in team history.

The play started when goalkeeper Enrique Adame took a free kick from well behind the midfield line. However, the back-to-back losses to Oregon State and New Mexico would drop UNLV from all four. UNLV jumped from unranked all the way to No. 17 in the Top Drawer Soccer Top 25 poll on Aug. 28. It was the highest ranking ever for the Rebels in the Top Drawer Soccer poll, and the highest ranking for UNLV in any poll since the 1992 season when UNLV was as high as 12th. The Rebels were also ranked No. 25 in the Aug. 28 Soccer America poll, their first ranking since a No. 23 spot in the 2015 season. UNLV received votes in both the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 and the College Soccer News Top 30 polls that week as well. For the week of Aug. 28, UNLV made their debut in the United Soccer Coaches regional rankings at No. 7, but dropped out of that poll on Sept. 5.
