BRENHAM COUNTRY CLUB March 2018 4107 Highway 105 Brenham, Texas 77833 Phone 979.836.1733 www.brenhamcc.com Dear Members, Can you believe it is already March? 2018 is moving right along, and with that being said, I have several items of interest to bring to your attention this month. We held our Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 and elected our three new board members. I welcome to the board: Dr. Aaron Campbell, Michael Groves and Fred Porter. I look forward to working with them for the next three years. I would also like to thank our outgoing board members: Mike Mushaway, Keith Behrens and Jarvis Van Dyke. Thank-you for volunteering and a job well done! We are looking at replacing the current hole signs this year and will be looking for 18 sponsors. We will go to our current sponsors first, but we will have some open sponsorships. Please let me know if you are interested in sponsoring a hole. Cost will be $1,000, to be renewed in three years. With spring in the air, tournament season is about to come into full swing. make a tee time before you come out to the Club. The UIL Regional Golf Tournament will be held again this year on April 23, 24, 25 and 26 with practice rounds on Saturday and Sunday, the 21 st and 22nd. The format will be the same as last year in that they will be playing four days, going off according to tee times starting at 7:30 am rather than a shot gun start. The good news is we will be taking member tee times after 2:00 pm or as the tournament allows. This tournament brings in considerable income to the Club. Welcome the tournament if you get a chance to see any of the participants. We are also looking for volunteers to work the UIL Tournament. We are in need of starters and monitors to help keep the tournament moving as well as cooks to grill hamburgers and sausage wraps. There is a signup sheet in the pro shop listing dates and times needed, for those of you who are interested in helping any or all of the four days of the tournament. Other events scheduled in March include a Mystery Dinner on March 2 and Happy Hour on March 23; an Elk s Tournament on March 17, BHS Tournaments on March 22 & 26, and the Jarrett Halfmann Tournament on March 24. We will also be holding our monthly bridge groups and book club. Last but not least, we will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31 st at 10:00 am. Minda and I are constantly looking for new activities for our members here at the Club. If you have any new ideas or suggestions, just let Minda or me know. Also, please read your newsletters and e- mails to stay abreast of our next activities. Our newsletter and event calendar can be found on our website: www.brenhamcc.com or can be picked up in the pro shop. Speaking of contacting us, we would like to contact you!
