Riders must produce a valid 2018 British Cycling racing licence or UCI licence. Please ensure that the licence is signed and a up to date photo is displayed. Fines may be issued if licences are not in order or presented. Signing on and changing facilities are located inside the CAST building in the Festival Square. Signing on starts 60 minutes before your race time, and closes 20 minutes before the race. Please do not try to sign on before one hour prior to your race start time. You will receive instructions about your race numbers when signing on. Please follow these as we require correct number placement. Any rider who cannot produce a licence will be required to pay the 10 day membership rate.
Rider Briefing Riders will be briefed on the start line by the Chief Commissaire 5 minutes before the start of each race. It is vital that you listen to the instructions and guidelines. Rider Numbers All riders are required to wear their race numbers as directed at the signing on desk. Failure to wear your rider numbers correctly may result in your individual finish being classed as a non-result. Race numbers must not be folded, defaced or otherwise modified in any way. For riders with a single race number, the number must be attached to the bottom left of the back of your jersey, around the hip area. For riders with two race numbers, please place these on the bottom of the back of your jersey, around the hip areas. Timing Chips All riders are required to attach your designated timing chip to the fork leg of your bike. Please refer to the separate document sent to your email, or check the guidance which is situated at the signing on desk on the day. Race Time You must be ready to enter the circuit 5 minutes before the race start time. Please see the circuit map, and assemble at the point marked CP One, in front of the Civic Building. Clothing and Equipment Appropriate team clothing must be worn at all times along with a regulation helmet. Race Regulations The race will be run under the Technical Regulations of British Cycling. Pit / Technical Area - Rules for Punctures, Crashes, and Breakages In the event of a puncture, crash or breakage, no laps out are allowed. Race finish Immediately after the race finishes, the first three riders will be required on the podium next to the circuit to be presented with their prizes and for photographs to be taken. Results and photographs will be posted on the doncastercyclefest.com website in the days after the event, and we ll be live covering the event on Facebook (/DoncasterCycleFest) and Twitter (@DonCycleFest) too, so feel free to follow us there. Youth and Junior Gear Checks All youth and junior riders must be gear checked before sign on. Gear check will be positioned outside the signing on area. A random gear check may be carried out following each event.
Rule 3.3 Gear Restrictions Please ensure you adhere to this chart as we will be checking the gear restrictions prior to signing on for all junior and youth riders also checks will be made after each race. Rule 3.3.1 In all road events (other than events promoted in accordance with T.R. 7.13) juniors shall be restricted to a maximum gear such that the distance covered per crank revolution is 7.93 metres. The gear restriction shall not apply to seniors. Rule 3.3.2 In all events other than under the provisions of 3.3.3 below, Youth category riders shall be restricted to maximum gears as shown in the following table. Your race travels anti-clockwise around the circuit, starting opposite the CAST building. Please see circuit diagram for the layout. Depending on your race, there will be a set number of time + laps for each race. The Chief Commissaire will advise during the Rider Briefing before your race the details of the time + laps for your race. Car Parking There are a number of car parks ideally situated near to the circuit and Festival area.
