There were 16 lead changes in the game, the last of which came when Ishmail Wainright hit a 3-pointer with 4:16 left to give BU a 50-48 lead. That started a 15-5 run, as BU held TCU to 1-of-8 shooting in the last 5 minutes. The Bears held TCU to 29% shooting (17-of-58), including 25% in the second half (7-of-28). Baylor completed the season series sweep for a 5th straight year with a 70-52 win on Feb. 11 in Waco. Johnathan Motley had 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting, while Manu Lecomte added 17 points and King McClure contributed 13 points, as the Bears shot 54% for the game, including 57% in the second half. A WIN WOULD... Give Baylor an 11-3 or better start through its first 14 games for a 5th straight season and the 10th time in 11 seasons since 2007-08, Drew s first year without scholarship restrictions. Improve Baylor s record in Big 12 home openers to 14-8 all-time, including 10-1 since 2008. Mark Baylor s 19th win over a ranked opponent in the last 4 seasons (19-20 since 2014-15; 1-3 this season). Improve Baylor s record vs. TCU to 101-81 all-time, including 55-38 in Waco and 12-0 in the Drew era. Keep Baylor undefeated in 12 series meetings against TCU as Big 12 rivals. Prevent the Bears from dropping to 0-2 in Big 12 play for the 2nd time in the last 11 years (started 0-2 in 2014-15). Make Baylor 53-10 against in-state opponents since 2011-12. Improve Baylor s record to 84-33 during Terry Maston s four-year career. BIG 12 S SECOND-BEST ROAD MARK SINCE 2012 Baylor is 19-18 in Big 12 road games since 2014, trailing only Kansas (24-13). BU is 28-27 in Big 12 road games since 2012, trailing only Kansas (37-18). Big 12 road teams went a combined 35-55 in conference play last season, but are 4-1 to open this season. PLAYING SHORTHANDED Baylor began the 2017-18 season with 10 eligible scholarship players, but the Bears have been down to as few as six available scholarship players for one game and haven t played with more than eight available scholarship players. The Bears got a boost when Tyson Jolly made his Baylor debut on Dec. 2 after sitting out the first 6 games due to a medical condition. He went 995 days between his final high school game (March 15, 2015) and his first collegiate game (Dec. 2, 2017). Jolly spent 2015-16 at Elev8 Sports Institute and sat out 2016-17 as a redshirt. Senior forward Terry Maston missed the next 6 games with a broken hand suffered on Nov. 28 at Xavier, and sophomore forward Leonard Allen is on an indefinite leave of absence due to personal medical challenges. BU played the Dec. 9 game vs. Randall with six scholarship players due to Manu Lecomte (thumb sprain) and Mark Vital (hamstring strain) sitting out with injuries. Maston returned in a limited role for Friday s game at Texas Tech, but Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. sat out with a foot sprain, snapping a streak of 47 consecutive games started over the entirety of his BU career. BU added walk-on guard Obim Okeke to the roster on Nov. 30. Okeke saw action as a running back and on special teams for Baylor football in 2017 and made his debut in a Baylor Basketball uniform on Dec. 4 vs. Sam Houston State.
