Xpress L90LS Directional Control Valve Catalog HY17-8525/UK December, 2001
Catalogue HY17-8525/UK Technical Information Xpress - general information Xpress is a valve-customization service that enables you to specify the features, settings and function options you wish to be incorporated into a valve assembly in order to optimize the performance, operating characteristics and economy of your machines easily and at very short notice. The Xpress service is at present available for the P70, F130CF, L90LS and K170LS directional control valves (for mobile applications), for the L4 series of hydraulic remote-control valves and for the VP04 series of pneumatic remote-control valves. The customization options* available under the Xpress scheme are listed in tables (such as those opposite and overleaf) for each respective valve. With the Xpress service, your customized valve assembly will be dispatched from the factory within 5 working days of order receipt. * Many other options are available for non-xpress orders. See respective product catalogues for details. L90LS - description The L90LS is a stackable, proportional, load-sensing, pressure compensated directional control valve designed for systems with variable or fixed pumps (LS- or CFC systems). The L90LS as an Xpress order can be supplied with 1 to 8 sections. The valve is designed for system pressures up to 320 bar and can be equipped with port relief valves in the service ports for a maximum shock pressure of 350 bar. The maximum flow capacity is 150 l/min, depending on how the valve is equipped. The maximum recommended flow per section is 90 l/min. Special features of L90LS Copied load signal (standard): design permits consumption in load signal line to pump without affecting signal level, thus eliminating micro-sinking. Individual pressure compensators (standard): separate compensators in each section give outstanding pressure compensation characteristics. (Particularly advantageous in lifting and lowering functions.) Feed reducers (optional): individually adjustable (50-300 bar) for each service port. Minimizes heat generation, prolongs oil life and saves energy. Fast acting port-relief valves (optional): combined, factory set port-relief and anti-cavitation valve greatly reduces risk of damage to machine equipment and hydraulic system. Integral counterpressure valve (standard): gives improved replenishing characteristics (factory set). Internal pilot-pressure supply (optional): internal feeding of pilot oil to s minimizes external pipework and facilitates quick, neat installation. How to order your Xpress-customized valve Study respective valve descriptions in this catalogue and select your valve. (See individual product catalogues if further information is required.) Study list of valve-specific options available under Xpress scheme. Enter selected option code, e.g. BSP, into appropriate selection box on Xpress Ordering Form. N.B. All boxes must be completed. Xpress Directional Control Valve L90LS Item Option Description 1 Inlet section CFC LS1 Inlet section for systems with fixed pump displacement (CFC). The system is equipped with an adjustable, pilot-operated pressure relief valve, which protects the pump and inlet side of the valve. An integrated bypass diverts excess oil directly to tank. The bypass pressure level is controlled by the load signal, and is approximately 10 bar above the actual load signal pressure. Inlet section for systems with variable pump (LS). Equipped with an adjustable, pilotoperated pressure relief valve, which protects the pump and inlet side of the valve. 2 Port connections BSP UNF Connection for flat gasket and threads according to ISO 228/1. Pump and tank connection*: G3/4. Service ports A & B: G1/2. Load-sense connection: G1/4. Connections according to: ISO SAE J1926/1. Pump and tank connection*: 1 1/16-12 UN-2B. Service ports A & B: 7/8-14 UNF-2B. Load-sense connection: 9/16-18 UNF-2B. 3 Main pressure relief valve PS Pilot operated pressure relief valve with fast opening sequence, good characteristics and very low pressure intensification, which effectively prevents overloading of the hydraulic pump and hydraulic system. The valve is adjustable and delivered factory set according to the value specified. Maximum setting: 320 bar. 4 Internal pilot pressure supply R Internal pilot pressure supply is a valve function which works as both a pressure regulator and a pressure relief valve in the integrated pilot circuit. For safety reasons, the R-cartridge is equipped with a separate safety valve function that prevents the maximum permissible regulated pressure from being exceeded. The pilot pressure supply includes an internal coarse filter with by-pass function. The filter prevents dirt from entering the pilot circuit, especially during start-up of the system. In the pilot circuit there is also a check valve to prevent pilot oil from leaking back to the pump, thus enabling the pressure in the pilot supply circuit to be maintained in the event of a temporary fall in pump pressure, e.g. during a rapid lowering movement. / Without internal pilot pressure supply function. 2 Parker Hannifin Borås, Sweden

These are used for functions in the system which require a lower maximum pressure than the normal operating pressure of the system. The reducing valve is infinitely adjustable between 50 and 300 bar. It serves to reduce the pump pressure so the feed pressure in the section in which it is fitted does not exceed the pre set value. Feed reducing valves limit the pressure supplied to the service port using less flow than 2 l/min. / Without feed reducer. 7 Spool s Item Option Description E externally. H EC A spring centered with enclosed ends. Spring force in neutral position - 70 N Spring force with fully actuated - 140 N The and H are proportional hydraulic s with spring centering to the neutral position. The difference between the two is that the H has a manual override facility. The s are intended for remote control by means of the L4 remotecontrol valve. Reduced pressure to supply the L4 can be tapped from the internal pilot pressure supply in the end section of the L90LS valve through the PS connection. Control pressure, start 5.5 bar Control pressure, final 15 bar Manual override handle added to. Control pressure, start 5.5 bar Control pressure, final 15 bar The EC and E are proportional, electrohydraulically controlled s with spring centering to the neutral position. They are intended to be controlled remotely by the EHC35, EHC45 or IQAN control systems. Pilot pressure oil to the s is supplied internally. Each solenoid valve has a damping orifice to enable smooth control of the function. The orifice is selected and installed at the factory, but the solenoid valves can be tuned individually by changing the orifice. Pilot pressure oil for the s is led through internal ducts in the valve. This means only the electric cables from the control system to the solenoids valve need to be connected 9 Flow (max.) 20 l/m (l/m = l/min) 30 l/m Enter desired flow option 45 l/m in ordering form 65 l/m 90 l/m 10 Port relief and/or anti-cavitation functions Y2 PA ** N2 None. Connection M-T blocked. Combined port relief and anti-cavitation valve PA mounted in A and/or B service ports. The port relief is a direct-acting pressure relief valve with a very fast opening sequence and good pressure characteristics. The anti-cavitation function enables oil service to flow from the tank gallery to the port side in the event of underpressure in the service ports. Setting for the port relief valve should normally be higher than the setting on the feed reducer valve. A minimum setting of 15 bar is required. Anti-cavitation valve only. No pressure limiting function, only make-up flow. * on inlet section (P1, T1) ** See ordering form for available standard pressure settings. 3 Parker Hannifin Borås, Sweden
