The Famous Vasaloppet, The Biggest Nordic Ski Race in the World! March 3, 2019 - Guided Trip for Either 4 or 7 Days The Vasaloppet is a 90-km classic cross-country ski competition that is the most popular and oldest in the history of classic Nordic skiing. It is where the Worldloppet the world championship long-distance races are held. It all starts on Sunday, March 3 2019, at 8:00 in the morning in the city of Sälen. Every year there are about 16,500 participants who ski from Sälen and Mora as they cross forests, hills, and frozen lakes. You, too, can have an unforgettable memory of this great race. Thanks to thousands of spectators all along the course, you will be cheered on so much that you will forget the difficult moments during the race. And what awaits you is even better when you cross the finish line in Mora the setting is spectacular and magic. This trip will be guided by Daniel Sandoz and Tanja Beumler. Your Accommodation No 1 The Kungshaga Hotel, Orsa Your hotel is family style with 29 rooms and a great restaurant. You will have free Internet, always accessible in the lobby. In the basement, there is a recreation room with a pool table, plus there is a sauna to warm up your sore muscles. And there is a place to wax your skis. Every room is a double with two twin beds, shower, WC, and TV. You are assured of sufficient rest before and after the race. From your window you will be able to see the Lake of Orsasjön! Where the Hotel Is Located The hotel is in Orsa, right on Lake Orsa and only 10km from the finish of the race in Mora. You can spend the days before the race getting acquainted with the course because transportation is provided and part of your package tour. Your Accommodation No 2 The Siljan Hotel, Mora You'll find this hotel in the centre of Mora, near the pedestrian zone and just 300 meters from the Vasaloppet finish line. All the rooms are of course quite simple, but they remain comfortable nonetheless. Each has two twin beds, a bathroom with shower and WC. The hotel also has a few triple or quadruple rooms. The lobby has Internet connection. This hotel also has a sauna, and a room to wax your skis especially organised for this event. All hotels guests can use these facilities free of charge. Breakfast and dinner are Scandinavian buffet served in the hotel's restaurant.
Specific Dates During Your Trip: 4 days (Thursday - Monday) or 7 days (Monday - Monday) Monday, February 25, 2019 You can take any international flight you wish. There is a bus transfer from the Stockholm airport to your hotel in Orsa, in the afternoon. If you arrive later, the transfer has to be done by train to Mora from the Arlanda (Stockholm) airport. The train station in Mora very close to the Siljan hotel, and if you are staying in Orsa, we will pick you up from the train station Tuesday, February 26, 2019, through to Saturday, March 4, 2019 These are the days that you can prepare for the great race ahead and get to check the course as well. There is a festival going on in Mora the whole week! Up to 70,000 participants (in 2018) in the various distance races during the week will be in the area. The travel for the 4-day program starts on Thursday. You should arrive at the beginning of the evening. On Friday, you ll go to check out a section of the race course, which will be part of your preparation for Sunday s big race. Sunday, March 3, 2019 The big race day. You will get up at the crack of dawn and eat as big a breakfast as you can. There will be a bus to take you from the hotel to the start of the race, which is 8:00 in the morning. After the race, there will be busses to take you to your hotel. In the evening, you will have the last celebration dinner with all the other tour group members.
