Horse Show Rules 1. Individuals on the grounds are responsible for knowing the rules. 2. This show is a single-point horse show approved by the Southern Hunter Jumper Association (SHJA) and governed by SHJA rules and those of the USEF. 3. Approved riding helmets are required to be worn in all classes, and for any person mounted on a horse or pony anywhere on the show grounds. 4. Schooling will be confined to designated areas. 5. No number will be issued until the entry form is signed and payment received by the Show Secretary. 6. Show management reserves the right to combine or cancel classes with appropriate notice. 7. Schooling in the rings may be conducted from 12 Noon until 6:30 PM, Friday before the show. There will be no schooling the morning of the show. Riders may hack in both rings the morning of show. 8. Any act of discourtesy to a judge or show official on the part of any trainer, owner, rider or groom will result in the immediate disqualification of any horse with which they are associated and the forfeiture of entry fees. Show management reserves the right to expel anyone from the property. 9. Parking is permitted in designated parking areas only. 10. All dogs must be on a leash. 11. Points will be awarded to sixth place in each division in the same manner as Hunter Championships (i.e.; 10, 6, 4, 2, 1, ½). Points will be awarded on this scale regardless of the number of entries in the class. In the case of a combined class (i.e.: Children s/adult Hunter), points will be awarded according to the ribbon won. Bonus Points will be awarded to the Champion (10 pts.) and Reserve Champion (6 pts.) in each division. Only horses shown by Member Riders will have their points recorded M&S Bit O Straw Hunter Classic Open to junior/amateur riders. No cross entry of horse/pony or rider into the Children s or Adult Hunter. Fences 2 6. EQUITATION CLASSES: ALL POINTS ACCRUE TO RIDER Walk/Trot Pleasure, Equitation, and Under Saddle. Open to riders 12 years of age and younger. Riders must demonstrate the walk and trot both ways of the ring and may not have cantered at any show. Martingales are not permitted.
