Stabling Policy for 2018 Whilst we are trying to avoid implementing a 10 deposit on each stable, we would be grateful if everyone could make an effort to clean their stables before they leave the showground. Senior Classes Junior members competing on horses are only able to do so from the beginning of the calendar year in which the age of 12 is reached. Horses will be eligible for double clear qualification to attend second rounds providing they reach the age of six years or under in the same calendar year as the Connolly s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Final accordance with rule 312.6 Four double clears to qualify. Horses will be eligible for double clear qualification to attend second rounds providing they reach the age of seven years or under in the same calendar year as the Foxhunter Final in accordance with rule 310.6, Four Double Clears will qualify. In the event of 30 or more starters the class will be split and two sets of prize money awarded. Horses may only compete in one section. Riders may only be a member of one Team in any one qualifying competition. The fourth member of the Team is the Team Captain. Horse s Rider must reside within the Area in which they are representing. Team Rules This competition is run over Two Rounds under Table A Teams to consist of: - Four horses. The 90cms and 1.00m horse must be, at the start of the qualifier registered as a Grade C. BS Just for Schools Classes Open to teams and individuals aged between 5 and 19 years old (the years in which the rider turns 5 and 19). In case of teams, this class cannot run as a Two Phase competition (only and Single Phase). Team and individual points are awarded on the following basis: 1st 12 points, 2nd- 10 points, 3rd 8 points, 4th 6 points, 5th 4 points, 6th 3 points. 3 points will be allocated to all those who achieve double clear. For a team to get double clear points at least 3 team members need to be clear in both rounds of a competition. The 3 highest team scores count. Wales and West 2018 Rules & Regulations Neither Broome & Company, Wales & West Shows, nor any of their officers, servants or agents shall in any way be liable for any accident, injury, damage or loss or for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstance whatsoever) to exhibitors, competitors, or members of the general public or their servants, agents or anyone on the showground, or for any loss, claim matter, circumstance or event whatsoever in connection with or arising out of nor attributable to the show or any journey to or from the show. No individual for which he/she is responsible as owners, lessee, agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in any competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure that other members of the public are not put at any risk of injury. All exhibitors and competitors are particularly requested to read these rules and regulations carefully in addition to the special conditions applicable to the various classes, class transfers and withdrawals. Entries will only be accepted and competitors allowed to compete on the clear understanding that they agree to comply with and be bound by these Rules & Regulations. The show organisers, Wales & West Shows, reserve to themselves the right to cancel, add to or amend any of the competitions as they may see fit, in accordance with British Show Jumping rules. The show organisers reserve the right to remove any vehicle or chattels which are obstructing any access to or on the showground even if locked, secured, unattended and braked and they will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage etc. The show organiser will appoint two Chief Stewards to deal with acts of misconduct on the showground. These stewards will, at all times, operate within the criteria set out in rules 72.3 and 96.2. All dogs on the showground must be kept on a lead at all times. The land owner reserves the right to remove any individual from the premises for any reason that he feels appropriate. Pavilion Rules In order to promote a safe and friendly family environment for our members we would like to reiterate the following rules: Under Age Drinking is illegal and will not be allowed. Photographic I.D will now be required for proof of age. If you are thought to be under 25 you will be asked for I.D. We would like to ask all parents to assist us by taking responsibility for their children. No glasses are to be taken off the site of the pavilion. No drinks are allowed on the dance floor. Anyone found causing wilful damage to the property or the grounds will be prosecuted. Abusive behaviour to any member of staff will not be tolerated. Drunk and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated, and may result in a permanent ban from the showground. Anyone found not abiding by these rules will face disciplinary action by the organisers and a written report of any accident will then be sent to the British Show Jumping for further actions. Children under the age of 14 must be supervised at all times. Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an Adult at all times whilst in and around the pavillion. Stallions Rule 82.21 no member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete, in any show jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury. Stallions will only be stabled in the permanent stallion boxes, which are limited. Therefore, anyone wishing to have stabling for a stallion must have their stabling booked no later than 14 days prior to the start of the competition. Refunds Policy Any rider may cancel their entries earlier than one week before the first day of the show; this can be by telephone, but must be confirmed in writing. This will entitle them to a full refund of entries. Entries cancelled after the one-week prior to the show period, but no later than 48 hours before the first day of the show are entitled to 50% of their entry fees back as a refund in the form of a cheque. Entries cancelled after the 48 hours before the first day of the show will be given a maximum refund of 50%. Cancellations at this point must be put in writing to the board of directors and will then be reviewed after the show has finished. If the refund is given it will be in the form of a credit on their account. Stabling costs are non-refundable. All of these conditions apply whether or not the account has been paid. ANY CREDITS ON ACCOUNTS MUST BE USED WITHIN THE CURRENT SEASON. Health and Safety Rules No corrals are to be erected in the lorry park. Horses must not be tied to lorries. Anyone sleeping in tents are advised to vacate the tent from 8am to 10pm. This is to reduce the risks associated with loose horses. Tents and awnings must be securely fastened. In accordance with the Health & Safety Regulations, riders must keep to those areas clearly marked for their use. Anyone who fails to regard these regulations will be asked to leave the showground. No motorcycles, motorised scooters or quad bikes will be allowed on the showground. All visitors to the showground must be aware that there are inherent risks associated with horses, and therefore, events which have horses present will present inherent risks. Horses must only be walked between arenas. No trotting or cantering please. Prams and Pushchairs are permitted on the showground. However, when in horse areas, children must be carried, and must not travel in their prams and pushchairs. This is for the child s safety in the event of a loose horse. Bicycles must not be ridden in horse areas. Failure to comply with these rules can result in a permanent ban from the showground. Late Payments Anyone leaving the showground without settling their bill will be fined a further 25. This sum is non-negotiable and you will not be allowed to jump again until both the fine and the unsettled account have been paid. Stabling Our permanent stables are sold on a first come first served basis, after which, we will hire in Temporary stabling at an additional cost. Stables should be paid for at the time of reservation. Stallions will only be stabled in the permanent stallion boxes. If found occupying a stable that you have not been allocated to and booked and paid for in advance there will be an automatic charge of 50 and you will not be allowed to jump until this fine has been paid. Your horse may also be held in ransom until this fine has been paid. Show Jumping Rules All horses and ponies must be registered with the British Show Jumping rule 79 and ridden by members in accordance with this rule. Any competitor found schooling in the arenas without prior permission will be disqualified from the show and reported to the British Show Jumping. Membership - All competitors must be members of Wales & West Shows in order to compete, this applies to the rider only. The only exception to this will be if you are taking part in a special competition allocated by the British Show Jumping i.e. Foxhunter or Newcomer 2nd Round. All competitors including visiting foreign and Irish riders (both pony and senior riders) and all horses / ponies must be current members of British Show Jumping in order to compete, unless members of foreign pony team properly invited (in accordance with rule 33.12). Also the aforementioned competitors are not eligible to compete or qualify in certain national championships or trials in accordance with rule 33.12 (.2 and.4) FEI Regulations (for relevant classes) Tack must comply with FEI regulations for all days of the Viewing Trials. All Horses competing in the Viewing Trials MUST be stabled on the showground for the duration of the show, as per FEI regulations. FEI anti-doping regulations will apply. Entries All Entries will be on a first come, first served basis. Once an arena is at capacity, no more entries will be taken. British Show Jumping numbers for riders and horses/ponies should be completed on Entry Forms. Transfers between classes will be taken for competitors who have entered prior to the closing date. The transfer has to be made before 4.30pm on the day prior to the change and can only be transferred within the same day, not from one day to another. Transfers will be taken at no extra cost if the above condition is met. Late entries are entries that are taken after the start of the first class on the first day of the show. A charge of 5.00 per horse, per class will be added to the account when the entry is made. Late entries must bring their British Show Jumping cards to the office when entering and if this is not complied with you will purchase a Ticket to ride and abide by these rules. Miscellaneous Please note the 5mph speed limit on the showground must be observed at all times. Chemical toilets have a dedicated emptying point, which is signposted. Chemical toilets must NOT be emptied in the Showground toilets. Premier Parking includes Electric Hook Up. - 8 -
