Definitely a really interesting product, a third alternative between classic 100 mm fork and rigid fork. Really useful for trails, which are not too difficult and bunch of XC races outside mountain areas. This fork is reactive and absorbs bunch of frequently met bumps. Big advantage as well on settings, just pick up the one for your weight and that s it. No adjustments, no lock out, just concentrate on riding. No maintenance needed, good for muddy conditions as well with a bridgeless construction, the Lauf TR29 is a must have if you are looking for a lightweight but rideable bike. Tapered steerer (1-1/8-1-1/2 ) XC, 29, 275 The Lauf Trail Racer is designed for XC hardtails with a 15mm hub and tapered head tube. The A-C on the TR29 is 485mm and 466mm on the TR275, which fits hardtail frames designed for 80-100mm suspension perfectly, since the Lauf Trail Racer sags less than conventional suspension forks. Light, Stiff, Fast The Lauf Spring System (LSS) is our patent pending technology, including Integrated Pocket Layup for maximal bonding strength and connection rigidity between the fork leaves and structure. The LSS system allows us to keep the unsprung weight as low as a leaf at only 260grams. The leaves themselves are made of military spec high-performance S2 glass fibers, which are shockingly flexible and very impact resistant. The leaves have already been shocked in our lab over 400.000 times, each shock making the springs deflect over 40mm. This gives us the confidence to offer a 5 year warranty on the Lauf Trail Racer fork. The 60mm of travel are progressive meaning that it is most sensitive in the beginning - eating up smaller high frequency bumps and stiffening up towards the end - making the most of every millimeter while keeping all parts safe. With no moving parts there is no friction, which means ZERO maintenance and high energy efficiency, making effective use of your hard earned joules. The leaves are fairly stiff and the flex pattern of the Lauf Trail Racer has been optimised for XC racing, so there is no need for a lock-out function. What I love most about the Lauf fork is the fact that I stopped thinking about my suspension while riding it.
