Announcement Rogaland Skøytekrets, RSK, member of Norges Skøyteforbund (Norwegian Skating Association), hereby takes the pleasure to invite you to take part in the International Speed Skating Competition 23 rd Masters International ALLROUND GAMES 2014 Sørmarka Arena, Stavanger, NORWAY, March 7.-9. The competition will be held in accordance with the following conditions of contest and the Regulations of the International Masters Speed Skating Committee (IMSSC) and the International Skating Union (ISU) at the covered 400 m standard speed skating rink Sørmarka Arena, Sørmarkveien 20, Stavanger, NORWAY, on artificial ice. This competition is a regular event on the International ISU Masters calendar. Competition program: Ladies (age group 30-60): 500m, 1.000m, 1.500m, 3.000m Ladies (age group 65 and higher): 500m, 1.000m, 1.000m, 1.500m Men (age group 30-60): 500m, 1.500m, 3.000m, 5.000m Men (age group 65 and higher): 500m, 1.000m, 1.500m, 3.000m Quartet start may be used for all distances except 500m. Within each Age Group the number of participants on the fourth and longest distance may be limited to the following number (see also point 5): 1

No members of national selections or national teams are allowed to participate. 4 Limitation of Participants The competition is limited to 220 competitors. However, the organizer accepts 242 entries which include an estimated loss of 10% due to illness, injuries etc. If the number of participants falls below 220, a withdrawn skater may be substituted by a skater from the same country until the Team Leader Meeting before the drawing. The Quota of Entries for the different Nations are: FIN 12, GER 25, ITA 9, NED 65, NOR 73, RUS 16, OTHER NATIONS 42. 5 Drawing and Classification On the first two distances of the Allround Games the skaters shall be seeded in three groups before drawing, according to their best times of the season, their best times of the last season or their estimated times as specified in the announcement. The seeding occurs per Age Group or per joined 2
Age Groups. Drawing at the Masters International Allround Games will be done according to ISU Rule 244 for Drawing at International Competitions. Neighboured five year age groups with a small number of participants may be put together for drawing and speed skating in the competition. In these combined groups the age group of each skater will appear behind his/her name in the protocol. However, the classification will be done separately in five year age groups independent of the number of participants in an age group. The winner of the four-distance competition in his/her age group is the skater who has completed successfully all distances and has obtained the lowest total of points in his/her five year age group. If the time schedule requires limitation of participants in the last distance of the Allround Games, joined five year age groups have to be separated before the limitation of participants. The limitation has to be done for every five year age group separately, according to IMSSC Rule 3.7. Afterwards five year age groups can again be joined for the last distance as described above. 6 Mass Start Races only for Skaters not qualified in the Fourth Distance To all skaters, not qualified for the fourth distance, the following mass start races will be offered: Men AG 30 60 (8 laps) Men AG 65 and higher (8 laps), Ladies AG 30 60 (6 laps), Ladies AG 65 and higher (6 laps). The Mass Start Races will be skated according to the following Rules: 1) The start will be a flying start. 2) After the first start shot the skaters start at the starting line (finish line 1000 m) for a preliminary lap, but have to stay behind a slow skating start skater who will be appointed by the starter. 3) When the start skater again reaches the starting line after the first lap (finish line 1000 m), there will be a second start shot which marks the real start of the race. After this second start shot the start skater may be overtaken by the other skaters. 4) Overtaking is allowed only at the outside of the skater who is overtaken. 5) The race lasts about 8 laps (Men) respectively 6 laps (Ladies) after the second start shot. Finish of the race is the 500 m finish line. 6) The end times will be taken only for the first three skaters. These three skaters receive a document with their skating rank and end time. 7 Prizes and Results of the 4 Distance Combination For the 4 distance combination the first three competitors of a five year age group will be awarded a prize. All participants who skate successfully the competition without disqualification, obtain a certificate (also if falling under a limitation of the fourth distance), a medal (if not being awarded with a prize) and a protocol with the results (only end times, no lap times). Every participant will receive a souvenir at the registration (included in the entry fee). 8 Anti-Doping Conditions Anti-doping tests may be made in accordance with ISU Rule 139. 9 Schedule (subject to change) 9.1 Competition Dates and Times for the Age Groups Estimated starting dates and times for the different distances of the different age groups will be published at the Organizers web-site: http://rogalandskoytekrets.no/ during February. Final starting times for the different distances of the different age groups will be published at the Team Leader Meeting before the drawing and at the Organizers web-site: http://rogalandskoytekrets.no/ 9.2 Training and Warm Up Times The 400m ice track is open for training Monday through Thursday at times published at Sørmarka Arena s web-site http://www.sormarka-arena.com. Generally the access during the day is not exclusive for participants in the Masters Games. A daily Admittance Fee, at present NOK 95, (NOK 65,- for Age 65+) must be paid at the Sørmarka Arena reception. 10 Entries Generally the entries are accepted in chronological order. However, Finland (FIN), The Netherlands (NED), Norway (NOR) and Russia (RUS) will make their entries after a qualification process. Entries must be made by filling out the Electronic Entry Forms available on the IMSSC website: www.imssc.org If you are not already registered as user, please first register with Name/Surname to the IMSSC website by clicking on Create an account, activate your registration, then choose the competition under the menu Competitions > List. Click on JOIN NOW and fill-in all the requested data; finally click on Register and then Confirm. You will get a confirmation by e-mail that your entry has been received by the Organizer. However, this message does not confirm your participation. Within the Other Nations group the final number of participants from each Nation will be based on that Nations share of prepaid entries per December 10. Any unused quotas per December 10. will be distributed among those Nations having more entries than Quota (i.e. skaters on Waiting List) in relation to their original quota. If an entered skater is prevented from participation by illness, injury or other unforeseen cause, he/she may be substituted by another skater from the Waiting List of the same country until the Team Leader Meeting before the drawing. 11 Entrance fee for competitors The entrance fee for competitors is NOK 1350,00 which includes a fee of approx. NOK 80 (EURO 10,00) for the costs of the IMSSC and it also includes tickets for the Welcome Reception and the 5
Closing Banquet. Drinks at the Closing Banquet are not included. If a competitor cannot take part in the Welcome Drink or Closing Banquet a refund will not be made.
