FROM THE HEAD OF SPORT The Term 4 sporting program is well and truly underway with our track and field team continuing their final preparations and our Water Polo teams playing their first match last night against Padua. With only 2 weeks remaining in these programs all students are reminded of their attendance at school sport being the priority. These are the final commitments our College has to the 2015 AIC sporting program and all students are to maintain the usual high level of commitment. *Important* Whenever there is a changeover of sporting season it becomes difficult for students to juggle their many commitments. All students need to understand that the current sporting commitments always take priority. Any sports conducted primarily in 2016 are to be worked in around your current commitments when appropriate. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR ALL SPECIFIC SPORT INFORMATION. Very soon our organisation of next year's cricket and volleyball programs will begin as well as the commencement of training for our Open football and rugby squads. This will create a very busy term for any students involved and communication between coaches and students is very important. Good luck to all students for the remaining term of sport and particularly to our Year 12 students in their final sporting days for Marist. SPORTING HIGHLIGHT A group of nine Marist students represented their College in the annual schools knockout competition for track and field. The annual Schools Knockout competition (SKO) is an event-selective, competition that allows a team of 7-9 students to compete for points based on their performances. The MCA team convincingly defeated GPS heavyweights Nudgee, Ipswich Grammar and State High to win the competition. They now automatically qualify for the National championships in Melbourne on December 7. Congratulations to all involved on an outstanding achievement! The team consisted of: Callum McCarthy, Connor Lynch, Bailey Huth, Charlie Ryan, Calum Mackay, Luka Apps, Donal Whyte, Tom Rafter and Jacob Roset.
