Minutes: Minutes from the meeting on 13 th February 2012 were emailed out on 18 th March 2012. In the absence of any other comments or objections the February minutes were considered approved. Matters Arising (from last meeting): 13 attended Vote: Carried Steve Phillips sent an email to club regarding Woody organising a defence workshop on 20 th March 2012. During the meeting Woody informed the meeting about the pending workshop and also advised that he would be happy to tailor future workshops for any teams requirements. CL informed the meeting that Sam Syres is dealing with the missing U13 s kit. Magic Weekend - MM informed the meeting that Matt Wilkinson was organising buses for the Magic Weekend. All teams to provide Matt number of seats required. Tickets can be bought through the club. Wolves season ticket holders taking advantage of the 50% offer re cost of Magic Weekend tickets can still book seats through Matt. 1
Financial Statement : JW updated the meeting regarding the financial situation of the club and discussed outstanding monies for floodlights. Correspondence: IN NA OUT - NA Warrington District, NWC & Service Area Meetings: Warrington and District (MM attended) Carlsberg Cup to be played at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. No date/sponsors as yet. U16 s competition to go ahead, meeting with Decathlon re sponsorship. Tom Doyle (son of Mick Doyle NWC) has approached Warrington & District, if he could attend club meetings to provide a presentation about his company forging links with clubs and schools and holding tag rugby camps. Hilary spoke about clubs paying 45, should league fold those teams that have paid the fee would be entitled to an equal share of total amount of money. Discussed summer rugby (pros and cons). Langworthy Reds won t be joining summer rugby. Scholarships might go next year. BARLA National Cup to go, due to finance and clubs having to travel distances to play. Open age -Harry Jackson Trophy to stay. Open age Cumbrian teams to notify opposition teams if the can t make away fixtures by Wednesday nights. NWC Development Cup Draws 2012 U13 s LAU v Bamber Bridge U14 s (prelim) LAU v Ince Rose Bridge Next round 1 st Rose Bridge. April 2012 Liverpool Lions v LAU or Ince U15 s (prelim) LAU v West Houghton Lions Next round LAU or West Houghton Lions v Pilkington R s or Manchester Storm. U15 s merit competition to be arranged on weekends when the league is disrupted due to cup/scholarship fixtures. Referees clubs reminded that home teams are responsible for arranging refs and should not be left until the last minute. NWC Child Welfare Brian Edwards is stepping down and is to be replaced by Helen Hayes. Discipline - Meetings planned for the 2 nd and 4 th Thursdays of every month (see NWC website for dates). Teams to check that their contact details on NWC s website are correct, so that any disciplinary outcomes can be issued to the club via email address shown. War of the Roses - everything in place for this competition, due to take place Easter Sunday. U16 s 18 s (U17 s attended) Summer Rugby discussed. On match days all club officials must be seen to be wearing High visibility jackets on and off the pitch. Registration Discussed outstanding cards. Majority of teams have received cards. Coaches advised to make Steve Phillips aware of any cards they have been given by a third party. Any outstanding cards should be reported to Steve for further action. Coach Coordinators 3
AW discussed the forthcoming defensive session planned for 20 th March. Again AW reiterated that he would tailor other sessions to the requirements of the clubs coaches. CRB/Child Protection Due to personal circumstances Collette had to leave the meeting. In Collette s absence MM asked the meeting if all team officials/volunteers with outstanding CRBs attend the next meeting (16 th April 2102) with all relevant CRB forms/paper work in order that Hilary can process CRB applications/renewals. A.O.B On behalf of Arron, LW raised an issue re: lack of training space for the U9 s. LW was advised that if the U9 s require more space for training the coaching staff should speak to the neighbouring coaches in order to accommodate them with the space required. MM informed the meeting that Challinors Sports will provide the club with a rugby ball for every 250 the club spends collectively within the shop. New website discussed, the club is keen for all teams to put as info on as possible. U7 s, U10 s & U13 s advised of pending refs course. Tony Doyle (Premier Sports) sent his apologies, could not attend the meeting therefore no presentation was made. Team updates: U7 s - not happy playing 3 ten minute sessions would prefer to play 15 minutes each way. Currently have a squad of 6 players, who are playing well against established opposition. U8 s CD to chase up Raging Bull for lack of socks re: free new kit. Team having issues confidence re: tackling, AW suggested defensive drills and arranging to play against our U9 s. JW stated that he would look for training aids that CD use to address this matter. 4
CD informed the meeting that he proposes to start up the LAU Cubs training session on 31 st March 2012. U10 s - team are playing well despite lack of numbers due to illness. U13 s - played 3, won 1, lost 2. U14 s playing well in league and cup games. U15 s playing well. Offered 1 st Division place turn it down to consolidate team. U17 s playing well, 21 players signed. There being no further business, the meeting was closed at approximately 21.15. The next meeting will be at Wilkies Tavern on 16 th 2012 starting at 8pm. April 5
