Gambling taxes paid during the current month were $39,549. After taxes, we had a net loss from gambling of $5,860.
Please keep in mind the current month taxes paid were for the previous period and not on the current month s operations. The estimated gambling taxes on June s activity are $30,000. Also, the Gambling Tax rate resets as of July 1, 2016; therefore, the gambling taxes will be significantly lower next month. We started iyr new gambling sites. Be sure to support them if you can. Age Level Coordinator Reports : JR Mite/Mites: The parade was good. It was a hot day. Cooled off at our sponsor, Howie s at the end. Jaime has started receiving emails asking about mites. Bantams : Coordinators have been signing up for tourneys. Coach in Charge Report : Please spread the word. We are in need of more coaches. The EB has approved Mike Hiltner as our Bantam AA coach for the 2016-2017 season. Tryout weekends will begin in October. Bantams/Peewees will be the 1 st weekend and 2 nd weekend. Squirts and 10U s (if needed) will be the 2 nd weekend. Teams will be announced after MEA break.
Unfinished Business : School Waiver Policy: Mike talked with MN Hockey. There is some flexibility in the waiver. We will table it until we have more info. New Gambling Sites: Please support them going forward. New Business: SportsStar Photography: Gave $1,000 to the association. We would like to sign another 3 year agreement with Sports Star Photography. Our contract with them was up at the end of last season. We get 10% of all our sales back to our association. Motion to approve: 1 st : Connie K. 2 nd : Rick S. Parking SCSU: SCSU will be charging for parking. Our families will receive 2 parking passes per family. Our ice costs will increase to pay for 51 spots. Managers will need to share with visiting teams that there will now be a pay lot when playing at SCSU. Dryland SCSU: We have the 3 rd floor of SCSU available to us. We would install $5-6,000 worth of equipment, using the monies from our gambling operations to pay for it. We would charge the teams so that we know they will use what is available to them. We will discuss this space at our Coaches, Manager and Treasurers meeting. There will be a key code into the area. Coaches would need to supervise their own players and teams. Motion to Approve: 1 st : Gregg S. 2 nd : Jaime O. Budget 2016-17: Marla reported but was unable to give hard copies at the meeting. She will email out to BOD members and we will vote electronically. Open Forum: Registration: Fees will stay the same. This is our 3 rd year in a row we have not increased our fees. Registration will go live August 1 st. Be sure as you register for tourneys that you get the dates to Mande. Skills and Drills will start the last week of August. Be sure to email your parents that this is extended Dynamics replacing Fall League. Both Derrick Brown and Pete Matanich will help. Announcements: o Next BOD Meeting is scheduled for August 17 th, 2016 at 8pm at Pesty s. o Golf Tourney is Friday, September 9 th, 2016. o Hockey Fun Day is September 24 th, 2016.
