The chip is protected against ambient influences by a stainless steel housing sealed with a concentrically corrugated diaphragm. The housing is filled with silicone oil so as to ensure the transfer of the pressure from the diaphragm to the sensing component. All metal parts of the chip in contact with the pressure media are made of stainless steel 316 L. The fully welded chip housing is vacuum-tight. Other transducer designs are on request, e.g. with latinum- or Hastelloy C-276 diaphragm or flush diaphragms. The substantial specifications for a normal chip design are: ressure range: 0,1..600bar Overpressure corresponding to pressure range: 2,5..900bar Housing and diaphragm Stainless Steel, Type 316 L Operating Temperature -30-100 C Compensated Range -10.80 C Vibration(20 5kHz) 20g Endurance(FS@25 C) >100x 10³ FS Seal ring Viton (FKM) Accuracy (Linearity, hysteresis 0,25 typ. % FS and repeatability) Temperature error -10.80 C -Zero <0,0125 mv/ C -Sensitivity <0,01 %/ C Long term stability typ. 0,5mV Other specifications on request. age 1/8

Important information for your safety This document contains information and warnings which must be followed to ensure safe operation and to maintain the equipment in a safe condition. Read these operating instructions before installing and starting the pressure transmitter. Keep the operating instructions in a place that is accessible to all users any time. Use of the product in accordance with the intended use, that means use the pressure transmitter to transform the pressure into an electrical signal. The procedures described in this manual must be only be conducted by suitably qualified personnel. Caution! High pressure fluids may be present in the area of the pressure transmitter. Ensure adequate safeguards are taken to avoid injury. Select the appropriate pressure transmitter with regard to scale range, performance and specific measurement conditions prior to installing and starting the instrument. age 2/8

Observe the relevant national regulations and observe the applicable standards and directives for special applications. pressure. Open pressure connections only after the system is without Make sure that the pressure transmitter is only used within the overload threshold limit all the time. If you do not observe the appropriate regulations, serious injuries/ or damages can occur! data sheet. Observe the ambient and working conditions outlined in the Important Note: The information has been reviewed and it is believed to be accurate and reliable, however JANSEN GmbH accepts no responsibility for any problems caused by error or omission. 4. Description and Application The device provides an industry standard 4-20mA output, proportional to applied pressure, which just two wire connection. Or a 5-15 Hz signal output designed as a potential-free opto-coupler. They are manufactured for vented gauge, absolute or sealed gauge measurements depend on the application. Many different variations on the basic design are possible covering a wide range of electrical and pressure conditions. The characteristics of the pressure transmitter can be taken from the corresponding data sheets DMG/*******. ressure Media Compatibility The above mentioned pressure series is suitable for pressure media compatible with a fully welded assembly of 316 stainless steel diaphragm. age 3/8

5. ackaging Check the scope of supply: ressure transmitter being ordered. Check the pressure transmitter for possible damage during transportation. Ensure that the pressure connection thread and the connection contacts will not be damaged Ensure that the documentation is completely existing incl. data sheet. 6. Intrinsically Safety Installation, modification and maintenance of intrinsically safe apparatus and systems must only be done by suitably qualified and authorized personnel. All installations have to be in accordance with IS System Certificate and comply with ATEX or equivalent. Marking This section is only applicable to Intrinsically Safe transmitters certified by DEKRA EXAM. The further ones represent a running number. Current (Ii) and ower (i) is not relevant due to internal limitation the version DMG/***I*** concerned. Effective internal capacitance/ inductance are negligible with connector version like type DMG/**/M/H/I/BI*****. For the transmitter version with a permanently connected cable, type DMG/**F*****, the wire characteristics are Ci: 300 pf/m Li: 1 µh/m age 4/8

7. Installation Safety Instructions When installing and operating the pressure transmitter, attention should be paid to the corresponding safety regulations and to the relative country regulations concerning the Ex-applications. Only mount the pressure transmitters onto unpressurized systems. rotect the diaphragm against damages. Also note the corresponding data sheet. Overpressure The rated pressure of the transmitter can be exceeded without degrading performance: Mounting At least 3 multiply of FS by 200bar 2 multiply of FS by 400bar The method of physically securing the transmitter is dependant upon the style of electrical connector fitted. For bonded cable and plug/ socket assemblies mounting is accomplished via the pressure port. Transmitters fitted with conduit assemblies must be secured by the pressure port ensuring that the conduit connection does not cause undue stress. Venting In order to operate correctly, gauge transmitter, requires an atmospheric reference pressure applied to the rear of the sensing diaphragm. This is accomplished in one of several ways depending on the electrical connector. ressure Connection G1/4 or G1/2 male connection. Other connections are on request. Mounting Effects on Zero On low pressure transmitters the physical orientation of the device can cause small changes of its offset. This is due to gravitational effects on the diaphragm and oil fill. The effect is negligible on pressure ranges greater than 1 bar. age 5/8

Functional test The output signal must be proportional to the pressure. If not, this might point to a damage of the diaphragm. In that case refer to chapter 10 Trouble Shooting. 8. Electrical Connection The voltage that appears across the terminals must be in the range of 9VDC to 30VDC. (4-20mA). Take into account the voltage drop across the current sense resistor the version DMG/***I*** concerned. All of transmitters are protected against reverse supply connection for an indefinite period. The instruments to measure the loop current is unimportant providing the transmitter terminal voltage lies within the above range. The voltage for the version DMG/***S*** have to be in the range 8VDC to 16VDC. (5-15Hz). The electrical connector type and the details are specified in the data sheet. The substantial device connections are as follows: lug Type G4A1M (DMG/**II****) The pin-out of the plug is as follows: in 1 Red core ositive Supply in 2 Blue core Negative Supply Sealed cable assembly DMG/**FI**** DMD/**FS***** The cable cores are as follows: Red ositive Supply ditto Blue Negative Supply ditto Screen Not connected Yellow Emitter (Opto-coupler signal) Other cores not connected Grey Collector (Opto-coupler signal) Earthing To prevent earth loops on intrinsically safe units, there is 500V AC isolation between the cable screen or core and the transmitter case. Separate earthing of cable screen a transmitter body is therefore required. age 6/8

9. Maintenance General Jansen pressure transmitters are maintenance free. Transmitter should to be clean and free of corrosion. Where a transmitter vents through the cable ensure the vent tube is not crimped and it is open to atmosphere. Important note: Do not attempt under any circumstances to clean the isolation diaphragm mechanically. It is made from a metal foil and contact with any objects will cause deformation and degrade the transmitter performance. The transmitters need to be repaired only by the manufacture. 10. Trouble Shooting Open pressure connections only after the system is without pressure. Take precaution with regard to remaining in removed pressure transmitter. Remove the pressure transmitter from service and mark it to prevent it from being used again accidentally, if it becomes damaged or unsafe for operation. Repairs have to be executed by the manufacturer only. Verify in advance if pressure is being applied and if the right voltage have been chosen. Failure ossible cause rocedure No output signal No/ incorrect voltage supply Adjust the voltage supply acc. to the Operation Instructions. Abnormal zero point signal Diaphragm is damaged, e.g. Aggressive media, corrosion Replace ressure transmitter Output signal unchanged after changing the pressure Signal span fluctuated of diaphragm Mechanical overload through overpressure Electromagnetic interference source in the vicinity, e.g. Inverter drive Replace pressure transmitter; if failure occurs again consult the manufacturer Shield the device, shield the cable, remove the Interference source Abnormal output signal Span incorrect adjusted Use appropriate reference Output signal up to 27mA or Load over the upper range or >15 Hz CB failure Check the actual pressure, if the failure is not removed replace the transmitter Output signal less than 4 ma Vacuum existed or CB Check the pressure. If the age 7/8

(2,5-3mA) or less 5 Hz failure failure is still existed, replace the transmitter. 11. Storage, Disposal Storage Mount the protection cap when storing the pressure transmitter in order to prevent any damage to the diaphragm. Disposal Dispose of any instrument components and packing materials in accordance with the respective waste treatment and disposal regulations of the region or country to which the instrument is supplied. 12.
