5. Procedure at the scene 10 steps to becoming a Spartan! 6) Wear your headband. It is important for photos! 7) Fasten your timing chip to your shoe with the cable tie. Do not wear your chip anywhere other than on your shoe, so that your time can be taken. 8) If you want, you can have your start number written on your arms, face or leg at Bodymarking. 9) Get to the start area at least 20 minutes ahead of you starting time. 10) And off you go to fight like a Spartan! IMPORTANT: Every participant must pick up his or her own start number. Obey the Spartan Code! Spartans push their mind and body to their limits. Spartans master their emotions. Spartans learn continuously. Spartans give generously. Spartans are leaders. Spartans stand up for what they believe, no matter the cost. Spartan know their flaws as well as they know their strengths. Spartans prove theirselves through actions, not words. Spartans live every day as if it was their last. #SpartanMunich
6. The race As always, we say nothing about the course or the obstacles beforehand. But you should be aware of the following points: Note your start time and be at the start area on time. We control the entry to the start waves, to make sure that everyone starts in the right wave. It is important that each wave contains only the number of starters that the course can hold at a time. The race will take place in tough terrain! Come prepared! Bring your trail running shoes, some warm clothes and even a rain jacket! Don t forget to bring sufficient amounts of food. Some obstacles have their own rules. These are easy rules and usually are self-explanatory. At most of the obstacles you will find a large sign which explains the rules for that obstacles! Here are the rules: http://www.spartanrace.de/en/race/obstacles-and-rules/rules-overview If you cannot complete an obstacle, you must instead complete 30 Burpees. There are no exceptions and no way around it! There are marshals and helpers at every obstacle who pay attention that these rules are followed. It is up to you to complete your Burpees without being told to. If you do not do them, you will be disqualified. Teamwork is basically allowed, but not at all obstacles. Our marshals will let you know when it is not allowed. They will also tell you the rules for support. For the Elites: no help is allowed! You only have one chance at some obstacles! So be sure to concentrate.
7. Burpee regulation Burpees are an essential part of the Spartan Race experience! Basically, every participant must do their own Burpees they are a part of the race and an obstacle which must be overcome. But no Spartan will be left behind! You can share your Burpees with other Spartans in the race directly in the Burpee area at the obstacle the number of Burpees will be divided by the number of people sharing the Burpees. Important: this applies only to the Open Heats! Competitive and Elite starters must do their Burpees alone and without help.
8. Team rules The rules for teams are as follows: Every team with at least 5 team members will automatically be included in the team rankings. You do not have to register extra for it. In order to be ranked in the results, at least 5 team members must finish the race. You must not all start in the same wave, but can start in different waves. Of course, it is better for your appearance as a team if you all start in the same wave. A team can consist of both sexes or only of one. There is only one team ranking, no distinction is made between the sexes. Decisive for the team ranking is the finishing time of the fifth team member. The best individual starter is not important, but rather how the team as a collective brings the fifth team member to the finish as quickly as possible. Team members are allowed to divide up Burpees among themselves but only in the Open Heat, never in the Elite Heat!
9. Provisions at the race We will provide you with the most important substances after the race. Exactly what a Spartan needs. You can also provide yourself with bars, gels and camel bags (drink backpacks) actually we do recommend you to bring your own fuel for the Beast. But remember that you don t want to carry too much weight with you when you tackle the obstacles. After the race you will find a variety of food and drink to purchase from the catering stands on the festival grounds. Spartans respect nature, so: don t throw any trash on the course, you can take it with you to the feed station or the finish. Throwing trash on the course may lead to disqualification! 10. After the race As soon as you cross the finish line you receive your well-deserved Spartan medal! You will also receive one-third of the Trifecta medal for the sprint. You can also have your medal engraved later. Important! You must take off your timing chip after the race, clean it, and bring it back in order to receive your Finisher shirt. There is a special area at the finish line to do this. Then you can check with the timekeeper to receive your personal race time. From there you can go the shower and get rid of the worst of the dirt, so that you are clean again. Change your clothes and pick up your bag from our bag check. Enjoy your accomplishment, you have earned it! And if that is not enough, prove yourself at our Festival Challenges
11. Results Your time will be measured through the timing chip which you receive at registration. You can see your time and the results immediately after the race at our timekeeper. After the race, the results will all be checked again and then officially published on our website. You can check your result and time there whenever you want. If you have registered with a team, then in addition to your individual time, you will probably also be in the team ranking. This ranking includes every team, with at least five members, who finish. The results are based on the time of the last team member crossing the finish line. Together we are stronger! The team results will be made public on the website after the race. 12. Photos Two or three days after the race, you will receive an email with your personal link to see an assortment of your race photos from Sportograf. So be sure you look good for the photographer... IMPORTANT: Be sure that your headband is visible. That makes it easier for our photographers to identify you. SPORTOGRAF: Here are the pre-race infos
