At least the Swiss TV and Finnish TV have shown interest to broadcast EFC matches. The Swiss TV will show the finals in case a Swiss team is participating and the Finnish TV is interested in the Men s final. Also Eurosport 2 will show the Men s final delayed. Further more is working on a test project to stream all the matches in the Men s group via the Internet. Please look for further information on the web-page during the upcoming weeks.

This tournament will be the first FISU event in which both women s and men s tournaments are played. Read more from the official WUC 2008 webpage:www.wucfloorball2008.com Coaching seminar during WUC 2008 The Finnish Floorball Federation is organising a Coaching Seminar at the Kuortane Sports Institute in cooperation with the. The seminar is organised on the 5th of November starting at 13:00. Men's teams: Czech Republic Georgia Hungary Japan Latvia Sweden Women's teams: Japan Georgia Sweden Switzerland (the teams still to be confirmed by FISU) The seminar is meant for the coaching staff of the participating countries of the World University Floorball Championships but also for other interested Floorball coaches. The theme in the seminar is offensive play and the following topics will be emphasized during the approximately three hour seminar: basics in the offensive play, counter attacks, openings and transition game. All participants will receive a CD including the seminar material. The seminar lecturers are the head of education and coaching in the Finnish Floorball Federation, Mr. Jari Oksanen and Mr. Petri Kettunen and the seminar language is English. The seminar is free of charge, but the participants need to register for the seminar by e-mail maarit.laitinen@kuortane.com latest the 31st of October 2008. 1.3 Men s 7th WFC in Czech Republic 2008 The Championships will be played the 6th-14th of December in the Czech Republic. All A-division and B-division group matches will be played in Ostrava and the final days in Prague. The top 7 teams from the A-division and the winner of the B-division are directly qualified for the WFC 2010. PAGE 3 WFC 2008 TV matches All in all there will as it looks now, be 15 matches broadcasted from the WFC 2008. So far the following TV companies have informed that they will show matches from the WFC: Denmark: DaFU has shown interest in Danish matches, discussions ongoing : YLE will broadcast the possible Finnish semi-final and medal match and also discussing additional group matches Latvia: LT7 will broadcast LAT-RUS, LAT- CZE and the final Norway: Discussions ongoing with NBF Sweden: TV4 will broadcast the match CZE-SWE, both the possible semi-final and final Switzerland: SFR will broadcast the final, if Switzerland plays, and in addition they have asked for highlights from all Swiss matches Eurosport: Eurosport2 will broadcast in total 10 or 11 matches Media accreditation Referees for the WFC 2008 The media accreditation for this event has started. All the media is asked to apply for the press and media accreditation directly from the Men's WFC official web-pages: www.wfc2008.cz. The last day for the accreditation is the 15th of October 2008. PAGE 4 1.4 Men s U19 WFC 2009 The 5th Men s U19 WFC will be played in Turku and Raisio (20 km in between), the 6th - 10th of May 2009. The arena of Raisio has 700 seats and Turku arena has the capacity up to 11.000 A-division: Sweden, Czech Republic,, Switzerland, Latvia, Norway, Slovakia, Denmark B-division: Poland, Germany, Estonia, Austria, Japan, Canada, Russia and Hungary 1.5 Women's WFC 2009 The Women's 7th WFC will be played in Västerås, Sweden the 5th 12th of December 2009. Since 24 teams have registered for the event a qualification tournament will be played. Directly qualified teams are: A-division: Sweden,, Switzerland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Russia, Norway, USA, Poland B-division: Singapore, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Canada In Västerås the whole tournament can be played in the Rocklunda area. The group matches will be played in two different arenas and the Play off matches will be played in the new ABB Arena. 1.5.1 Women's WFC 2009 Qualification to B-division The WFC Qualification is played in Slovenia the 4th - 8th of February 2009. Eight teams qualify for three spots in the B-division: Italy, Slovakia, Spain, Austria, Estonia, Slovenia, Georgia and Ukraine. 1.6 World Schools Championships in Floorball The International School Sport Federation (ISF) has decided to organise the World Schools Floorball Championships 2009 under the aegis of the ISF in Trencin in Slovakia from February 28th 7th of March 2009. Only school teams (one boy and one girl team/country) with players born in 1992, 1993 and 1994 may enter the event. The teams may include a maximum of 17 players + 2 goalkeepers that must have been enrolled at the same school since the beginning of the school year 2008-2009. More information is to be found on the ISF webpage www.isfsports.org/sports/ 2 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM The United States Floorball Association is organising the first Floorball coaching seminar as a part of the Floorball Development Program. The seminar is organised for the Fresno State University students from the 26th - 28th of September 2008 in California. At the same time there will be a seminar organised for the Floorball clubs in the United States.

AJ will have the visibility on the referee outfits and in the venues for the events. 6 GENERAL ASSEMBLY The General Assembly is held in Prague, Czech Republic on Saturday the 13th of December 2008 during the Men s 7th World Floorball Championships 2008 at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague starting at 09.30 (address: Freyova 33, 19000 Prague 9, Vysocany). All Member Associations are welcome to participate in the General Assembly with two representatives each. Please remember to register the representatives no later than the 30th of November 2008 at the e-mail address: sahala@floorball.org. All member Associations are entitled to make proposals to the General Assembly, but only the ordinary member Associations are entitled to vote, see 30 Statutes. Nota bene that the ordinary members must have fulfilled all their obligations, i.e. amongst other things have no debts to the unless an approved payment plan is followed. See 32 Statutes.
