Dear Prospective CSA All-Star and Parent, Thank you for choosing Cheer Sport Academy s Program. We are thrilled with the opportunity to work with you and your child. It is our goal to build skill and character in all of our athletes while enjoying a fun and memorable experience as a team player. CSA continues to be the largest and top gym in Livingston Parish as well as the only gym in Livingston Parish to win multiple bids to The D2 Summit in 2016 and 2017; placing Top 10 in the Nation. Also being the only local gym to bring home Cheersport Nationals and UCA Internationals titles home in 2017. The positive attitude and customer service in our gym is what sets us apart from others. We challenge you to add to our enthusiastic environment with your involvement as an athlete and as a parent supporter. We know good communication is essential in a program that continues to grow larger. It is our goal to be readily accessible for your questions, comments, or concerns. We will do everything in our power to make sure you are treated fairly and feel informed at all times. We have an open door policy and encourage positive and constructive comments throughout your experience with us. We truly value you as our customers. It is the mission of CSA to build character and inspire athletes. We are very proud of the accomplishments made from the 2016-17 season with all of our teams. CSA will continue feed off of last year and move forward this year. CSA has contacted several top choreographers in the all-star world and will continue to move forward with routines that are competitive with the mega-gyms in the US. On a personal note I want to thank you for your business. We are very appreciative of the loyal customers we have in the CSA program. We truly have a #CSAfamily and are excited to celebrate our 10 th season this year as a gym! Thank you again and we along with the rest of the CSA Staff welcome you to CSA s All-Star Program! Thanks, Kevin and Heather Calmes
WELCOME! We are excited about you joining the largest all-star program in Livingston Parish. As a CSA All-Star member, you will have opportunities to perform and compete at local and National competitions as well as be a part of our promotional and community events throughout the year. A medical release form must be completed for each participant involved with CSA All-Stars. This release allows coaches and representatives of the gym to obtain medical attention for your child should the parent/guardian not be present. An automatic draft or credit card authorization form must be on file for all students and all-stars. Monthly tuition as well as All-Star Annual Fees will be drafted from the account on file each month. Any fees not paid in full by the listed due date will be assessed a $10 late fee for each occurrence. Safety is the number one priority of this program. Our gym is a proud member of the USASF which regulates the safety of all-star cheerleading. Unsafe behavior is strictly forbidden. If at any time the gym staff feels an individual s behavior is jeopardizing the team in any way, the staff may warn, suspend, or remove that individual from the team. We want this to be an exciting and unforgettable experience for you and your child (ren). We will provide a structured and healthy environment for your child, but we expect your child to take our program seriously and work hard as a CSA All-Star. Our goal is reaching the maximum potential of each individual and the team as a whole. We expect each family to represent our gym and CSA All- Stars in a positive manner. PHILOSOPHY When you tryout at CSA, you are accepting a spot in the CSA program. CSA is a family of teams; therefore, we run our teams as one program-one family. We choose our teams so the program comes first, the team comes second, and the individual third. We take into consideration, both age and skill level when determining team placements. We would love for each team to have a full squad of athletes with the maximum tumbling skills allowed for that level. Unfortunately, that is not the reality in some instances. For example, while your athlete may be a Level 4 tumbler, this doesn t equate being placed on a Level 4 team. Your athlete may not be a level 4 jumper, stunter or dancer. We must choose our teams according to bases, backspots and flyers, which make up the stunt groups. All teams must have stunt group combinations that will give each team the proper amount of stunt groups. At CSA, our instructors teach: PERFECTION before PROGRESSION. This approach will allow us to be very successful on the National Level. We make our practices and competitions fun, rewarding, and productive. We are very serious about everyone attending our practices. We create a positive learning environment at CSA. We push the athletes to be the best they can be. We set goals as a team and as individuals while teaching accountability. We expect our athletes to improve their technique and progress their skills through efficient practices with maximum participation. Updated 4/3/2017
PRACTICES In order to be competitive at national cheer competitions, there are many extensive training practices that will develop your athlete. These practices are designed to allow each athlete to grow in skill and character. While we strive to teach each athlete the very best in all star cheer, we hope to make the experience fun, exciting and full of lasting memories. We realize that summers are vacation times for most, and we expect missed practices from all athletes. If you should have a vacation or planned trips that will cause you to miss a practice, please make sure you contact your coach. All absences from practices must be excused by the coach. Should you get sick or have any sudden circumstance to miss a practice, you must contact your coach or team rep immediately (not the gym). If you do not call and miss a practice, it could be grounds for removal from the team. Remember, a team can only be successful if all members are there and work together. FOR SUMMIT TEAMS: * You will be allowed 4 absences from May to August and 3 absences from September to April. Any absences after that will result in potential dismissal and a $75 fee per absence. No refund will be issued. No practice can be missed 2 weeks prior to any competition. This will result in replacement for that competition and may result in dismissal.* ** Our teams practice schedules will be determined no later than Thursday, May 18th. ** ** CSA Practice attire (black shorts, team shorts, bras, tanks) and cheer shoes (Varsity/Nfinity) must be worn at every practice and event unless otherwise stated by CSA Staff. **Conditioning will be assigned for those that chose not to follow our practice attire policy. If a member is excessively not dressing appropriately, probation or dismissal from the team can occur. Some allstar team practices will be once per week (longer time frame) during summer months (plus tumble class) then will ramp up to minimum 2 days per week, plus assigned tumbling class. Additional practices may be added as competitions approach. With the exception of choreography camp days, there will be no Friday or Saturday practices during the months of May, June, and July.
