THE ATLANTIS ANGLE The Atlantis Anglers Association official newsletter Page 1 vol. 5 Issue 11. December 2018 Well another club year has come and gone, and I have to say that I couldn t be happier with the past year! Our members supported our events that started with a nice awards dinner in April, and continued thru the season with successful charters, well attended meetings with new guest speakers that didn t disappoint, new team contests, inter club shootouts against FTC, and capped off with a fine end of season holiday party that may have been the best attended meeting in years with close to 40 members attending! I want to also personally thank all the members for helping to create an awesome fishing club! I sense there is a true camaraderie in the club again, friendships have been made and we have all grown as fishermen in the process! I have had the pleasure of working with board members ; Rich Geyer, Ken Bell, Ted Solomon, Pete Baressi and John Patton who aided with many tasks and handled things for all of our benefits. The cooperation on the board was the best thank you all so much! I also want to personally thank Bill Piemonte, Mike Lowenstein and Mitch Gootnick for the great work the fishing committee has done which really has made this a great season! I can assure everyone that this upcoming winter your board and fishing committee will be working hard to make our events better than ever, planning our charters, and setting up the awards dinner and our booth at the Ward Melville fishing Expo on March 2. I am excited to be working with the same group going forward and know great things are ahead for the club! Mike Bobetsky
The Atlantis Angle page 2 vol. 5 Issue 11 December 2018 Wow if you missed this meeting u were one of only a few as 40 of us came down to enjoy the party! We had hot and cold food, door prizes, and an amazing variety of desserts! Our own Peter Baressi was very generous and surprised us by donating giveaway bags complete with his own hand tied rigs, blackfish jigs and other items! Thank you so much PETER! Bill Piemonte did a fine job of hitting the tackle stores and getting 22 give away items to make for a fine allotment of things that members won and getting the soda cups! Thank you to everyone who brought down desserts and helped set up and clean up the room and thank you Willie Piemonte for bringing the ice! Warm soda isn t cool ha-ha! We saw members who we hadn t seen for a while which is always great, and we even got to hear some successful fishing reports, and an update on the landscape of fisheries management. We squared away the Striped bass derby which was filled, and the blackfish derby was closed also ending this year s derby season.
