The performances by Jan Kvalheim and Bjorn Maaseide highlight Norway s play on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour as the pair competed together for 10 seasons with seven gold medals, 18 podium placements and 27 final four finishes in 93 international starts. Kvalheim and Maaseide, who captured the 1994-95 SWATCH FIVB World Tour championship and placed seventh in the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, are still ranked ninth on the all-times earnings list with $778,750. Maaseide was also one of 15 players to compete in the first three Beach Volleyball Olympics, including twice with Kvalheim and once with Iver Horrem. Two-time Olympians Vegard Hoidalen and Jorre Kjemperud also won a SWATCH gold medal (Berlin 1998) and rank second on the FIVB list for events together (129) behind Portugal s Joao Brenha and Miguel Maia (134). Kjemperud also won a 2005 Challenger event in Porto Santo with Tarjei Skarlund as the pair had Norway s last men s final four finish in 2007 at Aland, Finland. Olympians Nila Ann Hakedal and Ingrid Torlen were Norway's top women's team on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour with 41 top nine finishes in 93 starts to rank 10th in all-time team FIVB earnings with $509,270. Season No. 5 for Hakedal and Torlen was the most productive campaign for a Norwegians women s team as they finished eighth on the 2006 SWATCH FIVB World Tour standings. With $111,400 in earnings together, Hakedal and Torlen ended the season strong with a fourth and third in Acapulco and Thailand, respectively, for Norway s first women s final four appearances and medal. In the 2007 and 2008, Hakedal and Torlen claimed silver medals in Shanghai and Kristiansand (Norway), respectively. Olympians Susanne Glesnes and Kathrine Maaseide rank 27th on the SWATCH women's career earnings list ($354,780) for 103 events (four-best total in women s tour history). Cecilie Josefsen and Wiig captured a FIVB Satellite silver medal in 2004 at Lausanne, Switzerland. Château Les Tourelles, Edouard-Sandoz 2-4, 1006 Lausanne, Switzerland Page 7 of 9
