Attention students and staff, diabetes is a condition in which one has high levels of glucose or sugar in the blood. This results when the cells of the body do not respond properly to the insulin or when the body is not producing enough insulin. There are 2 types of Diabetes, and type 2 is the more common one out of the two. Too much sugar, lack of exercise, and being overweight are all factors that can cause type 2 diabetes.
We need to make each other aware of how serious this condition is. Throughout the week there will be fun activities that you can participate in, such as: making a pledge on a ribbon, stretching before going to every period, and taking a lap around the gym to earn an awareness wristband. Join for ideas on how to prevent getting type 2 diabetes.
