Merits of Sūrat al-mursalāt This is a Meccan sūrah. The surah that opens with the oath of the Divine One swearing by the EMISSARIES as those sent forth in succession. It takes its name from the emissaries (mursalāt) mentioned in verse 1. The surah describes the Day of Decision: its inevitability, arguments for its coming, and the events that will presage the Judgement, as well as the fates of believers and disbelievers. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) has said that the one who recites this surah will not be counted from the Mushrikeen (polytheists). He will always be victorious over his enemy. It is narrated from Imam Ja far as-sadiq (a.s.) that drinking this surah after it is written, and then dissolved in water that is mixed with the water from an onion, acts as a cure from aches and pains. Keeping this surah, written on deerskin, as a talisman, enables one to reduce the amount of time he sleeps and he will be able to stay awake for a longer time.

ب ش م الل ي الر ح الر ح م ن م In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. غظیم اور دائمی رحمت ں والے خدا هام صے کے अल र ह क न भ स ज फड क ऩ र औय अत मन त दम व न ह bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi
و ال م ر ص ال ت غ ر فا ١ By the successive emissaries, کی ان لشم جوہیں تشلشو کے صاتھ بھیجا گیا ےہ स ह व (हव ए ) जजनक च ट छ ड द ज त ह wa-l-mursalāti ʿurfan
ف ال ػ اص ف ات غ ص فا ٢ by the raging hurricanes, پھر تیز رفتاری صے چلےن والی ہیں फपय ख फ त ज ह ज त ह, fa-l-ʿāṣifāti ʿaṣfan
و الو اظ ر ات ه ط ر ا ٣ by the sweeping spreaders, اور لشم ےہ کی ج ان اظیائ ک موتطر کر هے والی ہیں औय (फ दर क ) उठ कय प र त ह, wa-n-nāshirāti nashran
لا ر ف ات ار ل ف ٤ ال ف by the decisive separators, هے والی ہیں کر جدا اپس میں پھر اهہیں फपय भ भर कयत ह अरग-अरग, fa-l-fāriqāti farqan
ر ا ه ذ ات ك ٥ ل م ال ف by the inspirers of remembrance, ذ پھر کر ک هازل هے والی ہیں کر फपय ऩ श कयत ह म दददह न fa-l-mulqiyāti dhikran
غ ذ ر ا ا و ه ذ ر ا ٦ to excuse or to warn: تاکہ غذر تمام ہ یا خ ف پیدا کرایا جائے इल ज भ उत यन म च त वन द न क लरए, ʿudhran ʾaw nudhran
ون ل إ ه م ا ت غ د ال ع ٧ indeed what you are promised will surely befall. جس چیز کا تم صے وغدہ کیا گیا ےہ وہ بہرحال والع ہ هے والی ےہ ननस स द ह जजसक व द त भस फकम ज यह ह वह ननजचचत ह घदटत ह कय यह ग ʾinnamā tūʿadūna la-wāqiʿun
ف إ ذا الو ج م ط م ش ت ٨ So when the stars are blotted out, پھر جب صتاروں کی چمک ختم ہ جائے अत जफ त य ववर प त (प रक शह न) ह ज ए ग, fa-ʾidhā n-nujūmu ṭumisat
٩ ر ج ت و إ ذ ا الش م اء ف and when the sky is split, اور اصماه ں میں ظگاف پیدا ہ جائے औय जफ आक श पट ज एग wa-ʾidhā s-samāʾu furijat
ه ش ف ت ١٠ ج ب ال و إ ذ ا ال and when the mountains are scattered [like dust], اور جب پہاڑ اڑ هے لگیں औय ऩह ड च र ण-ववच र ण ह कय बफखय ज ए ग ; wa-ʾidhā l-jibālu nusifat
١١ و إ ذ ا الر ص و ت ت ا ل and when the time is set for the apostles [to witness] اور جب صارے پیغمبر غلیھ الش الم ایک ولت میں جمع کرلےئ جائیں औय जफ यस र क ह र मह ह ग फक उन क सभम ननमत कय ददम गम ह ग - wa-ʾidhā r-rusulu ʾuqqitat
ي م ا ج ل ل ت ١٢ for what day has [all] that been set [to occur]? بھال سک دن کے لےئ ان بات ں میں تاخیر کی گ ئی ےہ फकस ददन क लरए व ट र गए ह? li-ʾayyi yawmin ʾujjilat
ل م ال ف ص و ١٣ For the Day of Judgement! فیصلہ لےئ کے دن کے फ सर क ददन क लरए li-yawmi l-faṣli
ف ص و ر اك م و م ا م ال ١٤ ا ا د And what will show you what is the Day of Judgement! اور اپ کیاجاهیں کہ فیصلہ کا دن کیا ےہ औय त म ह क म भ र भ फक वह फ सर क ददन क म ह? - wa-mā ʾadrāka mā yawmu l-faṣli
ل م ن ذ ب ن م ئ ذ ل ١٥ و و Woe to the deniers on that day! اس دن جھٹالهے وال ں کے ےئل ےہ جہوم तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न -व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
و ل ن ال م ه ل م ا ل ١٦ Did We not destroy the ancients, کیا ہم ےه ان کے پہےل وال ں ک ہالک هہیں کردیا ےہ क म ऐस नह ह आ फक हभन ऩहर क ववनष ट फकम? ʾa-lam nuhliki l-ʾawwalīna
ن ر خ ١٧ ا ل م ػ ب ت ه ج م [and] then made the latter ones follow them? ہی کے پیچھے لگادیں گے ان پھر دوصرے ل گ ں ک بھی फपय उन ह क ऩ छ फ दव र क ब रग त यह? thumma nutbiʿuhumu l-ʾākhirīna
م ل ذ ه و ػ ه ف ١٨ ن ر م ج ال م ب That is how We deal with the guilty. حرط ہم مجرم ں کے صاتھ اصی تے ہیں کا برتاؤ کر अऩय धधम क स थ हभ ऐस ह कयत ह ka-dhālika nafʿalu bi-l-mujrimīna
ن ب ذ ن م ل ١٩ ل ذ ئ م و و Woe to the deniers on that day! اور ےئل جھٹالهے وال ں کے دن اج کے ہے یدابرب یہ یدابرب तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
خ ل كنم م ن م اء م ن ٢٠ ال م ه Have We not created you from a base fluid, کیا ہم ےه تم ک ایک حكیر پاهی صے هہیں پیدا کیا ےہ क म ऐस नह ह फक हभन त म ह त च छ जर स ऩ द फकम, ʾa-lam nakhluqkum min māʾin mahīnin
و اى ف ج ػ ل ف ل ر ار م ن ن ٢١ [and] then lodged it in a secure abode پھر اصے ایک محف ظ مكام پر لرار دیا ےہ फपय हभन उस एक स यक ष त दटकन क जगह यख, fa-jaʿalnāhu fī qarārin makīnin
ل د إ ل ر م ػ ل م ٢٢ until a known span [of time]? ایک مػین تک مكدار एक त औय ननजचचत अवधध तक? ʾilā qadarin maʿlūmin
د ر ف ك ك ر ون ا ف و ػ م ال اد ٢٣ ه Then We designed; so how excellent designers We are! پھر ہم ےه کی اس مكدار مػین کی ےہ ت ہم بہترین مكدار مكرر کر هے والے ہیں फपय हभन अन द ज ठहय म, त हभ क म ह अच छ अन द ज ठहय न व र ह fa-qadarnā fa-niʿma l-qādirūna
ن ب ذ ن م ل ٢٤ ل ذ ئ م و و Woe to the deniers on that day! ےئل جھٹالهے وال ں کے دن اج کے ہے یدابرب तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
ا ر ض ه فات ج ػ و ا ل ٢٥ ا ل م ه Have We not made the earth a receptacle کیا ہم ےه زمین ک ایک کر هے جمع وا ل ظرف هہیں بوایا ےہ क म ऐस नह ह फक हभन धयत क सभ ट यखन व र फन म, ʾa-lam najʿali l-ʾarḍa kifātan
ا م ات ٢٦ ح اء و ا ا for the living and the dead, جس میں زهدہ مف دہ صب ک جمع کریں گے जज न द क ब औय भ द क ब, ʾaḥyāʾan wa-ʾamwātan
و ج ػ ل و و ا ف ا ر و اص ظ ام خ ات و ا ص ك ٢٧ ا اه م م اء ف ر ات Sūrat al-mursalāt and set in it lofty [and] firm mountains, and given you agreeable water to drink? اور اس میں اوهچے اوهچے پہاڑ لرار دئے ہیں اور تمہیں ظیریں پاهی صے صیراب کیا ےہ औय उसभ ऊ च -ऊ च ऩह ड जभ ए औय त म ह भ ठ ऩ न वऩर म? wa-jaʿalnā fīhā rawāsiya shāmikhātin wa-ʾasqaynākum māʾan furātan
ل م ن ذ ب ن م ئ ذ ل ٢٨ و و Woe to the deniers on that day! اج جھٹالهے وال ں کے ےئل بربادی اور تباہی ےہ तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
٢٩ إ ل اهط ل ك ا ب ن م ا ه وت م ب ي ت ن ذ [They will be told]: Get off toward what you used to deny! جاؤ اس طرف جس کی تکذیب کیا کر تے تھے चर उस च ज क ओय जजस त भ झ ठर त यह ह! inṭaliqū ʾilā mā kuntum bihī tukadhdhibūna
ا ك ل اهط ل إ و ظ ٣٠ ب ػ ظ ث ج ال ي ذ Get off toward the triple-forked shadow, سج طرف دھ ئیں کے صایہ کی اس جاؤ کے تین گ ظے ہیں चर त न श ख ओ व र छ म क ओय, inṭaliqū ʾilā ẓillin dhī thalāthi shuʿabin
ب ٣١ ل ظ ل و و ل غ و م ن الل which is neither shady nor is of any avail against the flame. هہ ٹھوڈک ےہ هہ جہوم اور کی لپٹ صے بچاهے وا ل صہارا जजसभ न छ व ह औय न वह अजनन-ज व र स फच सकत ह lā ẓalīlin wa-lā yughnī mina l-lahabi
ر ص ك ٣٢ هال ر ر ط ب م ر ت ا ه إ Indeed it throws up sparks [huge] like palaces, وحم وہ ایشے اهگارے پھیوک رہا ےہ جیشے ک ئی ननस स द ह व (ज व र ए ) भहर ज स (ऊ च ) धच ग रयम प कत ह ʾinnahā tarmī bi-shararin ka-l-qaṣri
٣٣ ص ف ر ج م ال ت ه ا ه ي [bright] as if they were yellow camels. جیشے زرد رهگ کے اوهٹ भ न व ऩ र ऊ ट ह! ka-ʾannahū jimālatun ṣufrun
ن ب ذ ن م ل ٣٤ ل ذ ئ م و و Woe to the deniers on that day! ےئل جھٹالهے وال ں کے دن اج کے م ےہ جہو اور یدابرب तफ ह ह उस झ ठर न व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
ذ ا م ل وط ك ن ٣٥ This is a day wherein they will not speak, اج کے دن یہ ل گ بات بھی هہ کرصکیں گے मह वह ददन ह फक व क छ फ र नह यह ह, hādhā yawmu lā yanṭiqūna
م ل ن ذ ؤ ل و ت ػ ف ٣٦ ون ر ذ nor will they be permitted to offer excuses. اور هہ اهہیں کی بات اس ہ گی کہ اجازت غذر پیض کرصکیں त क ई उज ऩ श कय, (फ त मह ह फक) उन ह फ रन क अन भनत नह द ज यह ह wa-lā yuʾdhanu lahum fa-yaʿtadhirūna
ن ب ذ ن م ل ٣٧ ل ذ ئ م و و Woe to the deniers on that day! ےئل جھٹالهے وال ں کے دن اج کے ےہ جہوم तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न व र क waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
ذ ا م و ال ف ص و ج م ػ و اه و ل ن ا ل ٣٨ م This is the Day of Judgement. We have brought together you and the ancients. یہ فیصلہ کا دن ےہ جس میں ہم ےه تم ک اور تمام پہےل وال ں ک اکٹھا کیا ےہ "मह फ सर क ददन ह, हभन त म ह ब औय ऩहर क ब इकट ठ कय ददम hādhā yawmu l-faṣli jamaʿnākum wa-l-ʾawwalīna
ن م ه د ف ن د ون ٣٩ ف إ ن ه ان ل If you have any stratagems [left],try out your stratagems against Me! اب اگر تمہارے پاس ک ئی چال ہ ت ہم صے اصتػمال کرو "अफ मदद त म ह य ऩ स क ई च र ह त भ य ववर द ध चर " fa-ʾin kāna lakum kaydun fa-kīdūni
ن ب ذ ن م ل ٤٠ ل ذ ئ م و و Woe to the deniers on that day! ےئل هے وال ں کے اج تکذیب کر ےہ جہوم तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
إ ن ال م ت ك ن ف ظ ال ل و غ ن ٤١ Indeed the Godwary will be amid shades and springs, بیطک متكین گھوی چھاؤں اور چطم ں کے درمیان ہ ں گے ननस स द ह डय यखन व र छ व औय स र त भ ह, ʾinna l-muttaqīna fī ẓilālin wa-ʿuyūnin
٤٢ و ف ت ن اه ي م م ا ط and fruits, such as they desire. اور ان کی خ اہض کے مطابق می ے ہ ں گے औय उन पर क फ च ज व च ह wa-fawākiha mimmā yashtahūna
٤٣ ن ل ب ر اظ و ا ل ه م وت ه ا م ب ئ و ا م ػ ت [They will be told:] Enjoy your food and drink,[as a reward] for what you used to do. اب یک اغمال ان اطمیوان صے کھاؤ پی تم ج پر بوا دیےئ ہیں اهجام هے "ख ओ-वऩम भज स, उस कभ क फदर भ ज त भ कयत यह ह " kulū wa-shrabū hanīʾan bi-mā kuntum taʿmalūna
م ح م ه ذ ل إ ه ا ه ج ز ي ال ش و ن ٤٤ Thus indeed do We reward the virtuous. ہم اصی طرح غمو هیک کر هے وال ں ک بدلہ دیےت ہیں ननचचम ह उत तभक य क हभ ऐस ह फदर द त ह ʾinnā ka-dhālika najzī l-muḥsinīna
ن ب ذ ن م ل ٤٥ ل ذ ئ م و و Woe to the deniers on that day! ےئل اج جھٹالهے وال ں کے ہے موہج तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
م ت ػ ه ل ا و ت ا ل ل ال إ ه نم م ج ر م ن ٤٦ Eat and enjoy a little! You are indeed guilty. تم ل گ تھ ڑے ده ں کھاؤ اور ا رام تم مجرم ہ کرل کہ "ख र औय भज कय र थ ड -स, व स तव भ त भ अऩय ध ह!" kulū wa-tamattaʿū qalīlan ʾinnakum mujrimūna
ن ب ذ ن م ل ٤٧ ل ذ ئ م و و Woe to the deniers on that day! لئے هے وال ں کے تکذیب کر دن اج کے ہے ویو तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
٤٨ و إ ذ ا ل و ل م ار ػ ن ه ػ ا ل ر ه When they are told, Bow down, they do not bow down! اور جب ان صے کہا جاتا ےہ کہ رک ع کرو ت هہیں کر تے ہیں जफ उनस कह ज त ह फक "झ क! त नह झ कत " wa-ʾidhā qīla lahumu rkaʿū lā yarkaʿūna
ن ب ذ ن م ل ٤٩ ل ذ ئ م و و Woe to the deniers on that day! ت ےئل جھٹالهے وال ں کے دن اج کے ہے موہج तफ ह ह उस ददन झ ठर न व र क! waylun yawmaʾidhin li-l-mukadhdhibīna
٥٠ ن و م ؤ ى د ب ػ ث د ح ي ا ب ف So what discourse will they believe after this? ائیں گے خر ا اس یہ ل گ کے کس بػد ےل پر ایمان بات अफ आखख य इसक ऩचच त फकस व र ऩय व ईभ न र ए ग? fa-bi-ʾayyi ḥadīthin baʿdahū yuʾminūna
