KILLICK COAST GAMES INFORMATION Killick Coast Games 2015 Welcome to the 2015 Killick Coast Games. This year s games are hosted by Portugal Cove St. Philip s in our new Voisey s Brook Park. Games will run from Sunday July 26 th Thursday July 30 th. WEBSITE ALL information for the games will be posted to the Killick Coast Games website. This will serve as the main point of communication for all activities surrounding the games. This includes the schedules and any updates/changes made to it. Make sure to check the site every day for changes, and news. http://killickcoastgames.net/ WEATHER All information regarding weather cancellations or delays will be posted at least one hour before the start of the games. Alternate locations due to weather: Basketball and Ball Hockey -Beachy Cove Elementary. Soccer Rainbow Gully Park Reschedule or Cancelled Softball Games will be cancelled and re-schedule FACILITIES All games will be played at Voisey s Brook Park, located at 914 Indian Meal Line. Alternates location will be Rainbow Gully Park and Beachy Cove Elementary. Voisey s Brook Park Hut will house the canteen, First aid area and washrooms. There will be a tent with tables and chairs set up on site for additional covered seating.
CANTEEN Each athlete and coach have been given different colored wrist bands for their Meal Cards. Each day corresponds to the colors listed below. While we will provide peanut free snacks and meals, we cannot guarantee a peanut free environment. Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Meal cards cover: snacks (2), water (2), Gatorade (1) and lunch each day (except Sunday). ** Sunday will only cover snacks and drinks. Athletes playing softball that have an evening game, will have supper provided. **Tuesdays softball game will have supper provided There are additional items available at the canteen for a fee. FIRST AID Each sport will have first aid kits at sites, with additional first aid in the canteen building. FINALS See schedule. EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS Ball Hockey Players must supply their own helmets, gloves, and sticks Goalie gear must be provided by the teams (full face helmet, chest protector, pads, blocker, glove, jersey, stick) Sticks, players must supply their own Taped blades for outside use Plastic Blades MUST be used for indoor use Basketball Pinnies will be provided as needed Soccer Players must wear cleats (no metal), shin pads, and socks Softball Teams are required to supply their own helmets Bats will be provided by the host (NO outside bats permitted) Catcher gear will be provided by the host ( Teams can bring their own)

Sport Rules 2015 This is a friendly, Low- competitive games, all referees will not be certified Games will follow rules set in Killick Coast Games Manuel, plus amendments in 2015 (See below) 2015 KCG Sport Implementation Guidelines Default Rule - All games, teams will be given 5 min Grace Period to get minimum required players. Teams who do not have enough players after 5 minute grace period will default that game. Basketball Rules The 11-13 age group will follow NL Basketball Association Intermediate rules and the 14-17 age group will follow NL Basketball Association Midget rules unless otherwise stated below; 4 divisions: Junior male, Junior female, Senior male, Senior Female Fouls = 1 point plus ball back OT 4 min play 3 Player needed to start game and 2 players can finish, min 5 players recommended for team No 3 sec key All forms of Defense allowed( within Reason, no pushing) Half Court play at all time All Baskets scores is 1pt Games are 3 vs 3 style tournament Games will consist of two 15 min halves with a 5 minute half time A player accumulating 4 personal fouls will be ejected from the game A player who is ejected from two games will be kicked out of the tournament Soccer Rules All rules will follow the NL Soccer Associations Handbook unless otherwise stated below; 2 Divisions: junior mixed (male and female), senior mixed (male and female) Minimum female rule reduced to a minimum of 4 Fair play and equal play Games will consist of two 20 min halves with a 5 minute half time In the event of a tie game there will be 5 shooters. Goalie who finished game must stay in net cleats, shin pads mandatory 1 yellow card is a minor offence 2 yellows card is automatic red, removal from game 1 red card is removal from game, and will miss next game 2 red card is removal from tournament
Softball Rules The 11-13 age group will follow Softball NL the Squirt category rules and 14-17 age group will follow Bantam category unless otherwise stated below; 4 divisions: Junior male, Junior female, Senior male, Senior Female No live plate Traditional arc, slow pitch Pitching mat to determine strikes and balls All teams will use house bats ( No outside bats are allowed on field ) All games are 1 hour 15 min, at the 1 hour mark coaches notified this is the last inning (no minimum innings) Fair play rule in effect: all players get to play a min of 3 innings and rotate all batters Shin guards optional for catchers( Helmets and chest pad mandatory) Catchers provided by host Run rule will be in affect teams are only allowed 5 runs per inning If a team is leading by 15 runs after three innings the game will be called at that point. If a team is leading by 10 runs after 5 innings the game will be called at that point. Players can Slide at second and third base, if a player slides at home or first they will be out. Players running home who touch home base will be considered an out; Players must run through the home plate line, which will be identified by the umpire. There will be no Stealing at any base, On Dropped 3rd Strike Batter Is Automatically Out, No Throw or Tag Is Needed to Retire the Batter. Ball Hockey Rules All games will be played according to NL Ball Hockey Association rules unless otherwise stated below; 2 Divisions: junior mixed (male and female), senior mixed (male and female) No minimum number of females, equal play, all girls get as much time as any boy No slap shots= Shot where the sticks comes above the waist will be considered a dead ball No high stick= Stick cannot come above players waist, if stick is above players waist and they touch the ball, ball will be given to the other team. If players stick is above their waist and comes in contact with another player a penalty will be given to the player. After goal, defense takes ball by side of net Penalties players will sit off for 2 min There will be no checking, cross checking, slashing, hooking, high-sticking, tripping or no inappropriate stick work of any kind. Doing so shall result in a penalty for player. More serious offensive such as fighting, spearing and butt ending could result a game suspension and even a tournament suspension depending on the severity (Decision of the committee) Teams will consist of a minimum of 5 players (4 players 1 goalie), a minimum of 3 spares recommended Games will be two 15 min halves with 5 min halftime If a game is tied after regulation a shootout will occur, with 3 players per round ( No changing goalies in shootout) If a tie persists then a sudden death style shootout will occur A 7 pt lead at any time in the second half will result in the end of game Cross Country Run 3 divisions and distances: 11-12 years 1.5 km 13-14 years 2.0 km 15-16 years 2.5 km
