Salò Salò overlooks the Gulf of the same name, located on the Brescia side of Lake Garda. The echo of her story has made her famous and still stands out for her elegance. The sumptuous palaces of the historic center and the elegant lakefront, harmoniously integrated into the landscape, give it a unique charm. The Gulf, due to its particular geographic conformation, allows spectators to have a wide view of the race course, while remaining on the ground.

The Club The Società Canottieri Garda Salò boasts a glorious past, which encompasses a dense interweaving of history, culture and so much sport. From sport comes the spirit that animates the club and brings together executives, athletes, members of yachtsmen and about 1100 members; spirit that has also allowed to build a private port and to manage for more than thirty years the Municipal Sports Center of Salò, as well as the Tennis club. Rowing teams (since 1891), swimming (since 1907) and sailing (since 1965), have become the spearhead of the company over time, conquering 113 national titles 4 Europeans 2 World Championship 2 Paralympic participations.

Weather in the Gulf Lake Garda is characterized by a mild and temperate climate, where plants, such lemons and olive trees, have become symbols of our territory. The Gulf of Salò is characterized by its own microclimate that make it possible to carry out regular training even in winter, away from the typical inconveniences of the harsh temperatures of the season. In the Gulf the wind conditions also have an optimal breeze regime for the match race training program.

Venti dominanti e campo di regataungrandire MAPPA ED EVIDENZIARE CON FRECCIA SALO Salò and its Canottieri Garda club are located at the end of a deep gulf, in a position almost perpendicular to the north-south direction of Garda, typical of the prevailing winds of the lake (Peler and Ora), characteristic of the high pressure regime. These thermals, deviated by the shore profiles and by the coastal reliefs, always come in from the gulf, with about 80 (Fasanella) up to about 110 (Hour). This means that the sailing course foresees the start and the finish close the shore and the windward mark, just close to the entrance of the gulf, with clear advantages in order to the spectacularity of any event and good visibility of start and finish from the shore. The start and finish line in these conditions are about 200/250 meters from the harbor. The thermal breeze normally allows to race from 11-11.30 to 17.00, with an intensity range between 5-12 knots, minimum wave and almost non-influent current. The only possibility of change concerns the possible of the Ander, a wind from the South-West announcing a perturbation, forcing the Club to reverse the course. In case of delays on the program, we can use the Boaren, a night breeze, which blows from the shore up to 10-10.30 in the morning.

The Boat: Protagonist 7.50 One Design

The Boat: Protagonist 7.50 One Design Designed by Luigi Badinelli, and built by Garda shipyards, the numerical and technical leadership of single-sea sailing of Lake Garda has gained over time. To date, 63 examples have been launched, of which 47 are sailing on Lake Garda and 41 are actives in regattas of monotype. Light, fast and easy to handle, is characterized by a simple and intuitive deck plan. Rigged with Mainsail, Genoa or JIB and Spinnaker, surf and plan very ease and safety, helped by the generous dimensions of the rudder blade.

Staff

Luigi Bertini Luigi BERTINI deals with sailing since the age of 8 years. During his career he was an athlete, instructor, coach, judge and umpire. He is currently a World Sailing Judge and World Sailing Umpire. From 2007 to 2012 he was part of the instructors staff of BMW MR Academy. He judged and umpired and trained in more then 26 countries around the world. He organized, managed and created more then 12 different kind of events in the last 15 years. From years he is "welcome judge" for Platu 25, Open Bic, 420 and 470. In 2016 become Youth Match Race developer for Italian Sailing Federation In 2016 was in Rio Olympic Games as Rule Advisor of ITA team.

Pietro Corbucci Pietro starts sailing when he was 13 y,o. Athlete, instructor, coaching Laser 4.7 and Radial, he was also coach for a season in the Caribbean on Santa Lucia island.
