LIMESTONE First Meeting limestone Corey Fox 266-147 (15) 266-147 (15) Notable: Limestone is the third first-time opponent Liberty has faced in this season's first six games, along with Michigan and Drake. Tuesday's game will mark the Lady Flames' first meeting with a Conference Carolinas member since Dec. 2, 1989. That day, Liberty posted a 77-48 home triumph over Mount Olive during the Lady Flames' second season of NCAA Division I play. Tuesday will be the first time a Conference Carolinas team has played at the Vines Center. V S LIMESTONE SAINTS 3-1 OVERALL 0-0 CONF. CAROLINAS HOW TO FOLLOW THE LADY FLAMES Video... The matchup will count as an exhibition for the NCAA Division II Saints. The Lady Flames will be aiming to halt a four-game losing streak during their first-ever meeting with Limestone and their first matchup with a Conference Carolinas foe in 28 years. Tuesday will mark Liberty's 350th game at the Vines Center. The Lady Flames have won 79 percent of their home games since first playing at the facility on Dec. 7, 1990. Junior KK Barbour, the lone upperclassman in Liberty's current starting lineup, is averaging 18.3 ppg in her last three outings. She is coming off a career-high 24-point, 13-rebound performance at UMass on Saturday. Freshmen and sophomores are scoring 67.7 percent of Liberty's points this season. Conversely, Limestone features eight seniors. LIMESTONE Limestone has been one of the nation's top NCAA Division II teams in recent years, making six straight NCAA Tournament appearances and going 170-25 (.872) over that span. The Saints reached the NCAA Division II Final Four in 2015. Like Liberty, Limestone has been on the road quite a bit to begin the season. The Saints played four straight games away from their Gaffney, S.C., home before tipping off their home and Conference Carolinas schedules Monday night against Erskine. Limestone is an experienced team, as eight of its 14 players are seniors. However, Liberty will have a significant size advantage on Tuesday. Aaliyah Davis is the Saints' tallest player at 6-0. Limestone is outrebounding opponents this season, led by 10.3 boards per game from Keidra Smith, who stands 5-9. LAST MEETING WITH A CONFERENCE CAROLINAS OPPONENT DEC. 2, 1989 LIBERTY 77, MOUNT OLIVE 48 LYNCHBURG, VA. (LIBERTY GYM) The game marked one of the Lady Flames' six victories during their second NCAA Division I season. Cynthia Thomson paced Liberty with 22 points, including four of her program single-season record 64 three-pointers during the 1989-90 campaign. She also came up with five of the Lady Flames' 25 steals on the day. Thomson was joined in double figures by Stacey White (18 points, 8 rebounds), Paula Lassiter (14 points) and Kathy Wooten (13 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists). HOME OPENER Liberty is 25-17 all-time in home openers, including 16-11 at the Vines Center and 12-6 under Carey Green. The Lady Flames have lost three of their last four home openers. Nov. 28 is Liberty's latest home opener since the 2007-08 Lady Flames played their first home game on Nov. 30, 2007. ON THIS DATE: Liberty is 4-2 all-time on Nov. 28. NOV. 28 PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES Liberty has survived a grueling travel schedule to begin the season, playing five games in four different states (Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Virginia). The Lady Flames spent 11 total nights in seven different hotels in the 17 days between Nov. 9-25. Liberty has flown through seven different airports already this season, including Atlanta, Des Moines, Detroit, Dulles, Hartford, O'Hare and Raleigh/Durham. The Lady Flames still have at least one more set of flights ahead of them, with the UMKC Roo Holiday Classic scheduled for Dec. 19-20 in Kansas City, Mo. Liberty has not played its first five games away from the Vines Center since 2007-08, when the Lady Flames tipped off the year with six straight road/neutral contests. LADY FLAMES AT THE VINES CENTER Tuesday will mark the Lady Flames' 350th contest at the Vines Center all-time. This is Liberty's 28th season of basketball at the Vines Center. The Lady Flames have won 79 percent of their home games at the Vines Center in facility history, including 85 percent under Carey Green. Liberty's 9-5 home record in 2016-17 was its worst mark at the Vines Center since the 1995-96 Lady Flames went 5-8. See page 9 for more on the Vines Center. LADY FLAMES VS. Liberty is 4-3 all-time versus Conference Carolinas opponents, including 2-3 against High Point and 2-0 against Mount Olive. The Lady Flames have also faced current Conference Carolinas member Belmont Abbey, but before the Crusaders joined the conference. Current Big South members High Point, Longwood and Presbyterian previously spent time as Conference Carolinas members. The Lady Flames' biggest Nov. 28 win was an 80-68 victory over Penn State on Nov. 28, 2014 in Atlanta, Ga. The following year, Liberty nearly upset No. 16/15 California in Las Vegas on Nov. 28 before falling short, 77-72. Liberty is 81-66 all-time in November, including 46-48 under Carey Green and 1-4 in. 3

She also became the first eight-time Big South Freshman of the Week in conference history. STELLAR SOPHOMORES Keyen Green Keyen Green, Iva Ilic and Ola Makurat all made the Big South All-Freshman team a year ago, making Liberty the only NCAA Division I women's basketball team in the nation with a trio of all-freshman honorees in 2016-17. Adding in the production of classmates Kierra Johnson-Graham and Lela Sellers, the Lady Flames' five sophomore returnees accounted for 58.9 percent of the team's scoring last season and are scoring 53.2 percent of the points in. MEMORABLE SUMMER Iva Ilic Ola Makurat INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR The Lady Flames' roster features three foreign-born players, including sophomores Iva Ilic (Croatia) and Ola Makurat (Poland) and junior transfer Melis Ucar (Turkey). This marks Liberty's most international players since 2006-07 (Roli-Ann Nikagbatse of Germany, Karolina Piotrkiewicz of France and Egle Smigelskaite of Lithuania). FABULOUS FRESHMAN Ashtyn Baker opened her collegiate career in style, earning Big South Freshman of the Week honors on Nov. 13. Liberty won six straight Big South Freshman of the Week honors spanning 2016-17 and, as Keyen Green and Ola Makurat combined to win the last five awards a season ago.
