Stake Paybacks Purse per class based on entry fees with matching funds from the office. Paybacks will be made on a percentage basis. The more entries in a class, the higher the purse. Example, with 10 ponies in a stake, there will be a purse of $1,000.00. Amateur Mare & Gelding Incentives Paybacks The Amateur Mare Jackpot classes will be offered at the National Shetland Pony Congress. In order to participate in this class, the exhibitor must have a valid Amateur card and own the animal exhibited. The Amateur exhibitors name must be recorded by the home office on the registration papers of the animal being shown. The Amateur must meet all qualifications to possess his/her Amateur card. The animal exhibited in the class must be a mare. Exhibitors can only show one animal per class. Entry Fee: $30.00 per class 100% of the total entry collected will be paid to the top four winners.
General Rules: The Congress will run under the rules set forth in the ASPC/ASPR Show Rule Book, current revision. All person are notified that any misconduct or disobedience to the judges or show officials by an exhibitors, trainers, or parents shall be cause for disqualification. In such cases, all entry fees shall be forfeited. Working orders for eliminations and finals shall be drawn by the show management. No entry refunds without a vet certificate stating pony unable to show. Another horse may be substituted. Stalls are non-refundable. Entries: In order to be accepted, each entry and stall reservation must be accompanied by a check or credit card payable to: ASPC Congress 81-B East Queenwood, Morton, IL 61550. Call: 309-263- 4044 for additional information. Phone entries WILL NOT be accepted. No post-dated checks will be accepted. A fee of $50.00 will be charged for each returned check. Entries must be made on an official entry form in the name of the legal owner only. The form must be completed in full, including the legal owner s complete address. Each entry must be signed in all places required. Each pony must be entered on only ONE entry form. All adult and junior handler/drivers must be listed on this ONE form along with all classes entered. All exhibitors must be a member by time of closing of entries in order to show/enter the Congress. NO POST ENTERING FUTURITY CLASSES, AMATEUR GELDING INCENTIVE CLASSES OR JACKPOT AMATEUR MARE CLASSES! Stalling Information: Stalls will be assigned and shavings will be at your stalls when you arrive if they are ordered in advance. Stalls will be available at 12:01AM on Monday, July 7, 2014, and MUST be vacated by noon on Monday, July 14, 2014. No stall can be occupied without being assigned by show management. No stall location can be changed without consent of show management. All exhibitors who wish to be stalled together must send their entries together in one envelope. Shavings Information: Shavings can be ordered in advance and at your stall upon your arrival. Please make pre-order of shavings on your entry form. Shavings are $8.00 per bag. Futurity Information: Entry fees for the Classic & Modern Futurity classes are $10.00 per halter class and $20.00 for performance classes.
Classic & Modern Weanling Sweepstakes: No entry fee. Only those eligible may participate. Entries to be made directly to the Program Coordinator who will provide entry information to the eligible participants. Foals to be DNA d. Class Guidelines: For further clarification of class guidelines or class descriptions, consult your ASPC Rule Book. Health Requirements: Current negative Coggins are required on all ponies except weanlings. Current 30-Day health papers are also required on all ponies. ASPC registration papers or photo copies of said papers are required on all ponies entered. Measurement Time & Important Notes: Measurement of ponies will occur from Monday, July 7, 2014 at 12:00PM - 9:00PM. Additional measurement times each day from 7:30AM 8:00PM, unless stewards are needed in the ring. Note: All ASPR, Modern, Classic and Foundation Classic MUST be measured at the Congress. Classic & Foundation Classic foals of current year must be measured by the official measuring device. Foundation foals cannot measure over 38. Classic foals cannot measure over 40. Exhibitors MUST pick up a measurement card for each pony in the show office. At the time of measurements, the exhibitor is required to present to the steward the original registration paper of the animal or a photo copy of the same, and the pony (free of blanket, hood, neck wrap and tail set) for a measurement. Heel measurements are required. No back number will be released until all necessary measurements have been completed. Class Post Entry & Class Changes: Classes can be added, scratched or changed in show office on the official form completed in full and signed. Payment of additional classes must be made with cash, check or credit card. No Refund will be given for classes cancelled by the exhibitor. Credit for a cancelled class may be applied to an additional class entered by the same exhibitor AT THE SAME TIME. Deadline for adding classes will be 1 hour prior to the start of the session in which the class is to be held for afternoon or evening session and the night before the morning session. There will be a $50.00 fine for going through the gate in a class prior to officially entering the class. There will be a $50.00 fine for not showing in an entered class without officially scratching the class at the show office or at the gate prior to the class. All exhibitors are asked to check out in the show office prior to leaving the show and to settle their accounts. Exhibitors who do not do this will have no recourse on the amount of show fees charged to their account. ASPC/ASPR CONGRESS 2014 Youth Judging ****This form may be duplicated**** Youth Judging held in conjunction with ASPC Congress show. Youth should study the registry rule book found at www.shetlandminiature.com for showing regulations and rules, and the Conformation requirements of the breed. Items Youth Judges will need are pen/pencil, clipboard and paper. (If they do not have these, there will be some available). Youth Judges are asked to remember this is a serious contest and to dress accordingly. Judge s cards will be handed out at the beginning of the Youth Judging event. The event will be judged by the committee in accordance to the FFA Standards.
