This will be an experience for lifetime, enjoy race day and smile to the spectators, volunteers and not least to the photographers they will cheer for you all day long. RACE BRIEFING Friday August 3 rd 18:00 18:45 race briefing at the old fish auction. Address: Havnevej 1, 6990 Thorsminde. Race briefing in Danish, with stations translated alongside in German and English. PASTA PARTY Friday August 3 rd 18:45 20:30 pasta party will take place at the old fish auction. The Pasta party is free of charge for all participants. Menu: Local specialties. Beverages: bottled water. Address: Havnevej 1, 6990 Thorsminde. The pasta party conducted in continuation of race briefing. If you have bought extra tickets for the pasta party, your family/friends can enjoy the meal with you in the premises. Extra tickets can be purchased for 150 kr. / 20.in advance. Does not include beverages! Purchase tickets by link sent from RaceResults (your registrations confirmation). Extra ticket for Saturday evening (after race dinner Full distance): 115 kr. / 15. REGISTRATION Registration adress: Thorsminde Naturskole, Skolegade 25 6990 Thorsminde Denmark. At registration athletes must present a valid photo ID (passport, driver s license or similar). Relay: All team members have to registrate at the same time. INFORMATION Race day: We expect every athlete to practice good sportsmanship and take care of themselves and others. Athletes must obey traffic rules and regulations and must follow instructions from Race officials. 6

Athletes compete without receiving help/assistance from others (other than from Race officials and other athletes). Littering - Athletes must not dispose trash or equipment on the course (only at aid stations). Intentional littering results in disqualification. Follow the course. It is the athlete s responsibility to know the course. If an athlete exits the course, you have to re-enter at the same point as departure. Withdraw If you withdraw from the race, you are obligated to contact a race official immediately. Timing Thor Beach Triathlon uses timing system from Raceresult/Run2u.dk. The organization will provide you with a chip. Wear it above your ankle. Please return the chip and Velcro band after crossing the finish line. Rules All athletes must be 18 or older on race day. The timing chip has to be worn during the whole race. If the chip is lost, it is the athlete s responsibility to contact the timing crew in Transition zone to receive a new chip. Medical/anti-doping Medical crew and race marshals appointed by the organizers may, at any time during the race remove an athlete from the race, in case of health issues or risk of injury to the athlete. The use of prohibited methods and substances included in the WADA List of Prohibited Substances and Methods is forbidden. The Athletes may be subject to random testing by Anti Doping Denmark. Headsets, headphones and mobile phones are prohibited, during all time at the race. Penalty box: Any penalty except stop and go, must be served at the penalty box. Penalty box is located next to transition area. Penalties Yellow card: Stop and go (e.g drafting in a pack) Red card: 5 minutes Time penalty (e.g drafting) Yellow and red card: Disqualification (e.g littering, not following instructions. 2 red cards). Violating traffic rules instant disqualification. 7

Cut-offs ONLY FULL DISTANCE! Cut-off is necessary in concern of athlete s safety. Athletes are not permitted to continue the race if not reaching the cut-off times. Swim exit Bike exit (Full distance) Run cut-off 21,1 km (Full distance) 8:30 (2 hours 30 min.) 16:00 (10 hours from race start) 20:00 (14 hours from race start) TRANSITION ZONE POWERED BY Ringkøbing Landbobank Transition zone opens at 4:30 on race day. Every athlete has her/his own bike rack and a box for equipment and clothes. During the race, athlete s equipment must be placed in the designated box. Changing of clothes only inside Transition zone. Only for Relay: Every switch must be around the bike rack in transition zone. When the swimmer hands over the timing chip to the cyclist, it must be beside the bike in transition Zone. The cyclist must rack his/her bike in Transition zone, before handing over the timing chip to the runner. Mount and dismount line are the pavement outside the Transition zone. 8

SWIM COURSE POWERED BY DME Beach Start / Australian exit Half distance: 2 loops (1900 meters) Full distance: 4 loops (3800 meter) The swim course is with beach start. Athletes have to pass the timing mat on the beach for each loop. Please notice: There is a safety rope in the water. You have to pass the rope on the way out and in. You have to swim over the rope (because of your swimbag). Swim between buoys and fishing boats. Athletes must wear the official swim cap provided by Race Officials. Wetsuit and the provided Swimbag are mandatory. Swimbag included in registration fee. Snorkel, fins, gloves, paddles, pull buoys are prohibited SWIM CAP HALF DISTANCE PINK SWIM CAP FULL DISTANCE GREEN Swimbag Swim cut - off 8:30 (2 hours 30 minutes). AID station AID station placed on the beach next to the timing mat. Athletes pass the AID station between loops on swim course and when exiting swim course. AID: 32GI Energy gel Water 32GI Race Energy drink We advise you to bring running shoes, for transport from swim exit to transition zone (500 meters on sand and pavement). If the lifeguards estimate The North Sea, not safe on race day, the swim course can be transferred to Nissum Fjord (next to transition zone). 10

Weather and safety Safety comes first! Take care of each other. If a fellow athlete is in distress/need, you are liable to help her/him. If you need help during the swim course, raise your arm and wave. Kayaks, boats, divers and lifeguards on paddleboards and jetscooter are taking care of safety. Water temperature: Expect water temperatures to be around 16-18C. Expect waves and current. Air temperature: Expect 18C Wind: Expect a fresh wind. Due to conditions in the North Sea, we reserve the right to changes to the course. 11

Swim course back-up plan In case the North Sea is not safe, the swim leg are conducted in Nissum Fjord, next to the Transition zone. The course is 1900 meter. Half distance 1 loop. Full distance 2 loops. No exit from water before you are finish with the 2 laps (3800 meters) 12

BIKE COURSE POWERED BY CERAMICSPEED The bike used must be a normal bike. Electrical powered bikes not allowed. Helmet with race number is mandatory. Athletes must wear helmet at all time on the bike course with the chinstrap locked. Before taking your bike of the bike-racks, you have to put your helmet on and close the chinstrap. Both brakes on the bike must be functional. Race bib is mandatory on bike course visual at the athletes back. Frame sticker must be visible from both sides. The legal distance between bikes is 20 meter from front wheel to front wheel. Athletes may enter the draft zone of another athlete when passing and must continuously progress through the draft zone. A maximum of 40 seconds will be allowed to pass through the zone of another athlete. If an athlete is overtaken he must drop back, and be out of the draft zone, within 30 seconds. Athletes must ride single file on the far right side. The bike course is open to ordinary traffic. Road traffic regulations must strictly observed at all times. In Vemb (km 33) the course passes a railroad track. Athletes have to stop if a train is passing. The bike course is at the road, athletes only ride at the bicycle path from Vemb to Ringkøbingvej (5 km). AID stations Bike course: It is the athlete s own responsibility to collect the needed energy from the tables in the AID stations. We do not guarantee volunteers to hand it to you on the fly. Athletes have to bring special needs to the table before race start. Win a complete upgrade from Ceramicspeed - Only individual participants! The fastest bikesplit of individual woman and man, full and half distance will enter a lottery of a full upgrade. 4 participants will enter the lottery of an upgrade kit of value approximately 1000 (Bottom Bracket, wheel bearings and pulley wheels). The winner will be announced at award ceremony 19:00 Good luck. Arrows 150 meters before every turn and right before a turn there will be an arrow marking the course: 14

RUN COURSE POWERED BY Athletes must wear the bib number at front side. Folding or cutting the bib number is not allowed. You must run, walk or crawl by your own on the course. No trekking poles are allowed. The course is marked with marker posts. When running on the beach, participants must run between water edge and dune edge. If a fellow athlete is in distress/need you are liable to help her/him. Check if the person is okay. Inform next aid station about the situation. We advice you to use sand specific running shoe. Many road shoes have a mesh panel on top of the shoe witch takes sand inside the shoe. FINISH LINE When you cross the finish line, our photographers will be ready to capture the moment. Remember to smile. Children are allowed to cross finish line with you. Results and live coverage are powered by www.raceresult.com To collect your bike and gear in Transition Zone you will need to show your BIB number. This is for protecting the property of every athlete. ATHLETES GARDEN When you cross the finish line there will be some refreshments for you. Half distance will be served sandwich, fruit and drinks. You can choose to have a bath at the School or go for the Hot tubs. Full distance can enjoy after race dinner at the old fish auction house (Havnegade 1. Same place as pasta party) 19:15 22:30. Next to finish line Normatec have a recover-zone offering massage for all athletes. ACCOMMODATION If you have chosen to accommodate at Thorsminde Skole (School) you have to know the following. Accommodation is free of charge for participants. The staff of Thor Beach Triathlon will assign a location / premises for you. There are rooms with bunkbeds, other rooms with matrasses (new) and a hall. Expect sharing rooms with other athletes. Friday the lights will be switched off at 22 in the evening. Bring your own bed linen, pillow and quilt/sleeping bag. There is a kitchen with refrigerators, bath facilities, you can use freely. You are allowed to bring your own tent on the premises of the school. Remember taking account of each other. Do not make unnecessary noise and respect people sleeping.
