February 2018 CAR OF THE MONTH 1965 Mustang Owned by Glenn Coppelman, CMC member from afar Dear Becky: I m writing to let you know where one of your former Copperstate Mustang Club cars ended up. I had been searching for a 1965 Mustang, similar to one I had as a young man, and found it through the internet last year. The car, pictured in the attached photos, is a very original vehicle that I believe had been owned previously by Club Member Bob Chic Ragona based on receipts that came with the car. The Mustang is a nice, rust-free example of the 1965 Coupe. The car was built in San Jose in the Fall of 1964 and delivered to Phoenix where it lived its life until coming to New Hampshire last year. I performed a lot of the maintenance that had been deferred, and returned the car to stock by replacing the chrome engine compartment components with OEM Ford originals, as well as converting it back to the original single exhaust. The car runs extremely well, and transports me back to my teenage years whenever I hop in to drive it. It s tucked away for the winter now, but will be back out this Spring when the good weather returns! Best regards, Glenn Coppelman Kingston, NH PS: I don t know if I ll ever drive the car back to AZ, but I joined the Copperstate Mustang Club anyway. You never know!

General Meeting Minutes 1/14/2018 Meeting was called to order by Becky Field, President pro tem and a pledge of allegiance was spoken by all. Officers present were JoAnn, John, Alyce, and Catherine. Board members present were Phyllis, Ron, Greg, Rich, Gordon and Dan. Visitors were recognized and the each member gave their name so everyone could get familiar with other members. Treasurer report was given by JoAnn. Old business talked about was the Christmas banquet meeting and party. Visit by Santa was enjoyed by everyone. The shopping spree by 4 club members was talked about and it was reported that this year was the first year all angels were taken from the trees at the mall and gifts were purchased by generous people for the children. Next discussion was the Pancakes in the Park for the February General Meeting. Volunteers were asked to come and help and those attending were asked to sign the signup sheet. Dan told about the cruise he is planning for in February. Spring show was discussed. It was voted on by those at the meeting to have a Mustang only show and it be a judged show. It has been a couple years since the club has done this kind of show. Whiner stories were told by Byron, Tony and Gary. Winner for the month was Gary with the Warning---Invisible Lien-- this may be involved when buying a used car. If the state or another party has put a lien on the car for back taxes or bills owed by the seller, these liens do NOT show up until you try to get a title for the car, thus making you clear the liens away before you can get title to the car. 50/50 drawing was won by Paul M. Thank you Chevie for bring treats to this meeting. Gerald Young will bring treats for the March meeting.
Helping the Community Just wanted to let all members know that they should be proud of what the club did for the community this past year. We gave $100.00 to Hurricane victims through the Salvation Army. We gave $200.00 to St. Mary s Food Bank, $200.00 to United Food Bank and $200.00 to the Food Kitchen at Mt. Olive Church. We purchased $1496.09 in Toys and Clothes for The Salvation Army Christmas Angels. We gave a check for $1674.95 to East Valley Technical School for their Automotive Program and helping with the Fall car show. We made a donation the Mesa Child Crisis Center in the name of Craig Berge after he passed away this past December. This was an organization that his family supported. We raised $1544.00 for the Toys for Tots and a truck load of toys for the Marines. So again everyone should be proud of what Copperstate Mustang has done this past year to help out our community. JoAnn
