This year, events are separated into developmental and scored sections by grade level. Developmental heats are not timed or scored but provide an excellent opportunity to practice an event. Scored heats are open to athletes that have previously met the qualifying marks. 55-meter dashes are open to first graders, kindergarteners, and those in pre-k who are at least four years old on race day. Kindergarten through fifth grade events are developmental only. Sixth grade and up will have the option to select either developmental or scored sections. High school students can participate in the 100-meter dash, shot put, and scored 800-meter invitational run. Spiked shoes are not allowed.
Event Notes The Jamboree events are organized by grade: pre-kindergarten; kindergarten and first grade; second and third grades; fourth and fifth grades; sixth grade; seventh and eighth grades; and high school. Shot-put weights will vary by grade level. Please refer to the schedule or registration form for details regarding this and other events open to your child. Scored & Developmental Sections Events are separated into scored and developmental sections by grade level. Kindergarten through fifth grade will be in developmental sections only, while sixth grade and up will have the option to select either developmental or scored sections. Choose developmental, if your child doesn t meet the qualifier, is new to the sport, or doesn t have (or know) a time/distance for the event. Registration Runners can enter up to two events. At registration, kindergarten through fifth grade runners will receive a wristband with their emergency contact and event information on it, which they will wear in their events. A staff member will mark their wristband after the event. Runners in sixth grade and up will receive event stickers to wear. Please affix the event stickers to their shirts before they go to the clerking area. A staff member will remove the sticker after the event. * SCHEDULE All developmental sections will not be timed or measured. All events are boys and girls. No spikes permitted.
