So many needy families will benefit from this wonderful canned food drive. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Little Sisters of the Poor were so appreciative of the food donations they picked up on Monday. They use 40 cans for each meal they prepare for their elderly residents and the cupboards were nearly bare. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Julie Molloy, mom of Anna (Anna s House) was amazed at the amount of food donated to The Lord s Pantry at Anna s House. She picked up the items that came in for the 3rd pick-up today. She said they feed 250 families each week and will be able to distribute our donations for the next 6 months. Page 2 November 23 Country Fried Steak Mashed Potatoes Gravy Corn 21ST CENTURY SCHOLARS PROGRAM FOR 7TH AND 8TH GRADE STUDENTS This is an Indiana program open to 7 th and 8 th grade income-eligible students that may pay for a significant amount of the cost of college tuition. Students must be enrolled in the program by June of their 8 th grade year but parents of eligible 7 th and 8 th graders can apply at any time before that. The program asks students to pledge to graduate from high school, maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 and stay out of serious trouble while in high school. RONCALLI HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST Roncalli had 313 eighth grade students take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on Saturday, November 7. This large number indicates the enthusiasm in attending Roncalli High School continues to be at an all-time high! There is still time for students to join this newest group of future Rebels, as the HSPT will be administered again on Saturday, December 5: Students must register to take the HSPT by contacting Mrs. Jane Dias, Guidance Secretary, at (317) 787-8277, ext. 214 or jdias@roncalli.org The test begins at 8:00 a.m. Students are asked to arrive at 7:45 a.m., and use the Fine Arts Center entrance (Door #5). The test will conclude by 11:15 a.m. Cost is $10 (cash or check made to Roncalli High School) Students are asked to bring 2 sharpened No. 2 pencils; calculators are not allowed. REBELS HEADING TO CHICAGO FOR THE HOLIDAYS Holiday shopping in Chicago! Roncalli High School is sponsoring the eighth annual Holiday bus trip to Chicago on Saturday, December 5. Start the day with coffee and doughnuts at 7:00 am in the Roncalli cafeteria. Departure for Chicago is at 8:00 am (7:00 Chicago time) returning back to Roncalli by 11:00 pm. Beverages and a snack will be served during the return trip. You don t have to be Roncalli alumni to attend but must be at least, high school age. JUNIOR LADY REBEL REGISTRATION 2015-16 Winter Jr. Lady Rebel s registration for the winter session will be on November 22 in the Roncalli HS Cafeteria. The times will be separated by grades. 3rd 5th from 2:00-3:30 PM; 6th 8th from 3:30-5:00 PM. The player may come with the parent if they need to try on a Jersey. However, evaluation tryouts will take place during the first two scheduled practice due to no gym space on the 22nd. The participation for the Winter Indy Hoops League will cost $60.00 if you need a jersey; $50.00 if you do not need a jersey. Please stop by on Nov. 22n in order to make payment, fill out paperwork and sign the IGHL release of liability form. Each team will practice once or twice a week and play every other Sunday throughout the winter IGHL session.
