Saginaw also began the game with stout defense on the Otters high-flying offense. Erie didn t get its first shot on goal until there was 11:49 left in the period. Jesse Barwell continued the scoring at 14:11 with his fourth goal of the season on the power play off of a rebound from a Marcus Crawford shot. Just two minutes later, Brady Gilmour sniped his sixth goal into the back of the net over Troy Timpano s left glove. A flurry of shots from Erie gave them the advantage in shots on goal, 10-8.
