July 25 th -26 th, 2009 Enter online at: http://swimconnection.com/pc/meet/will SANCTION: Held under USA/Pacific Swimming No.: 0629 LOCATION: COURSE: TIME: RULES: Willits Community Pool. 299 North Main Street, Willits, CA Outdoor 25 yard heated pool with up to six (6) competition Lanes. Meet begins at 9:00 AM both days with warm-ups from 7:30 8:45 AM. Current USA and Pacific Swimming rules will govern the meet. Pacific Swimming warm-up rules will be in effect. A copy of these rules will be posted at the Clerk of the Course. All events are timed finals. All swimmers age 12 and under should complete competition within four (4) hours. Events may be combined at the discretion of the meet referee. The 500 Free may be swum as combined heats of girls and boys and may be swum fastest to slowest. Swimmers may compete in up to four (4) events per day, plus relays. All coaches and deck officials must wear their USA Swimming (USA-S) membership card in a visible manner. The meet will be limited to the first 300 swimmers or when the meet estimated time line exceeds the Four Hour Rule per Age Group and Gender. If local conditions warrant the Meet Referee, with the concurrence of the meet director, may require a mandatory scratch down to three (3) events per swimmer. Immediate refunds will be made for any mandatory scratches. RESTRICTIONS: Smoking and use of tobacco products is prohibited anywhere in the meet venue which is described as: on the pool deck, in the locker rooms, on High School property, in the spectator seating or standing areas and in all areas used by swimmers during the meet and during warm-up periods. Sale and use of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in all areas of the meet venue. No pets or glass containers are allowed anywhere in the meet venue. Personal canopies, tents or sleeping bags will be allowed in the designated camping area outside the pool, but not on the pool deck. Some TEAM canopies for Coaches may be allowed on the pool deck in spaces designated by the meet director. Parents and Swimmers may not congregate in these areas. ELIGIBILITY: Swimmers must be current members of USA-S and enter their name and registration number on the meet entry card as they are shown on their Registration Card. If this is not done, it may be difficult to match the swimmer with the registration and times database. The meet host must check all swimmer registrations against the SWIMS database and if not found to be registered, the meet director shall accept the registration at the meet (a $10 surcharge will be added to the regular registration fee). Duplicate registrations will be refunded by mail. Swimmers in the A+ Division must have met at least the listed PC-A time standard. Swimmers in the B Division must have met at least the listed PC-B time standard and not have met the listed PC-A time standard. All entry times slower than the listed PC-B time standard will be in the C Division. No time entries will be accepted and will be seeded in the first heat(s) of the C Division. Entry times submitted for this meet will be checked against a computer database and may be changed in accordance with Pacific Swimming Entry Time Verification procedures. Disabled swimmers are welcome to attend this meet and should contact the meet director or Meet Referee regarding special accommodations on entry times and seeding per Pacific Swimming policy. Swimmers aged 19 and over may participate in 13/over events but will not receive awards. Such swimmers must have met the 17/18 time standards. CHECK-IN: The meet will be deck seeded. Swimmers must check-in at the Clerk of Course. Close of check-in for all events shall be no more than 30 minutes before the estimated time of the start of the first heat of the event. Swimmers who do not check-in will not be allowed to compete in that event.

RELAYS: Relays will be deck entered and seeded on the day of the event. Relay entries will be due by the announced time(s); there is no limit per team. Events 31, 32, 65 & 66 are open to anyone over the age of 11. The fee per relay entry is $9.00, to be paid when the relay entry card is turned in. SCRATCHES: Any swimmer who has checked in for an individual event and fails to swim that event will be scratched from the meet unless the swimmer returns to the clerk of course and repeats the check-in process for all remaining events. Failure to swim an event after re-check-in will result in being barred from the next individual event in which a swimmer is entered on that day or the next meet day, whichever is first. The penalty will not apply if the swimmer scratches the event before it is seeded, or if the Referee accepts proof that the failure was caused by illness, injury or other circumstances beyond the control of the swimmer. 25 YD EVENTS: 25 yard events will start at the starting block end of the pool. Timers will be equipped with three stop watches per lane and moved to the opposite end of the pool. In the 8 & under 100 yd. relays, the second (2 nd ) and fourth (4 th ) swimmers will start in the water at the shallow end of the pool. ENTRIES: TWO OPTIONS FOR MEET ENTRY Only entries from Zone 3 teams (CCSC, FOG, HSC, JCSC, KYSC, LCCC, MCSL, MP, NAPA, NBA, OPSR, PCM, QUIK, RAYS, RSC, SFSC, SHSC, SRN, SSS, SST, TVA, UD, VJO, WA, WCAN, WILL, YPAC), plus unattached swimmers registered to Zone 3 teams will be accepted before June 6, 2009. Option 1: Online Meet Entries: 1. Swimmers & coaches making team entries follow the same online entry method 2. Using your browser go to: http://swimconnection.com/pc/meet/will 3. Follow entry instructions: a. Enter all swimmers in your family (coaches may enter their complete team) at the same time. b. Make online credit card payment for meet entries at our secure site. c. You will receive confirmation of acceptance into the meet at time of payment. This confirmation should be brought to the meet as proof of entry. d. Online entries will close at Midnight on Monday, July 13, 2009. Note: Swim Connection charges an internet processing fee of $1.00 per swimmer + 5% of the total entry fee. Online entry fees are paid to Swim Connection, LLC. Entry via the online system is entirely voluntary, and is not required. Option 2: Traditional Postal System Mailed Entries: All entries must be on the attached Consolidated Entry Card. Entry cards must be completely filled out including best time for each event. No Time entries will be accepted. Entries must be postmarked by Saturday, July 11, 2009 or hand delivered to 299 N. Main St, Willits, CA by 7 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2009. No refunds will be made, except for mandatory scratches and no late entries will be accepted. Heat winners will be determined by the fastest time in each heat. Each relay team will share one large size or bigger t-shirt with their team name on it for the relay. Each relay team provides their own large size or bigger t-shirt for use. The first person on each relay team puts the t-shirt on. The lead swimmer swims across the pool and back, and then exchanges the t-shirt on the deck with the next swimmer, who does the same, and so on. The t-shirt must stay on for the entire time the swimmer is in the water. Arms and hands must be seen outside of the sleeves of the t-shirt before the contestant may enter the water. No one may help the two team members exchange the t-shirt. The winning relay team in each heat receives the t-

shirts for all other teams in their heat. The relay team with the fastest overall time for the event will take home a trophy. AWARDS: Individual events: A, B, and C Division Distinctive awards 1 st place through 6 th place. A Time Medals for first time PC-A times achieved. Individual events: In the 8 & under events, separate awards will be made for the 6 & under and 7-8 age groups. In the 9-12 events, separate awards will be made for 9-10 and 11-12 age groups. In the 13 & over events separate awards will be made for 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18 age groups. Relay events: Medals 1 st through 3 rd. Relays will be awarded as 10 & under, and 11-18. Swimmers aged 19 and over will not be awarded. The t-shirt relays will not receive medals. A Team Spirit award will also be given at the end of the meet on Sunday. Awards will be available for pickup by the coaches at the end of the meet. Awards will NOT be mailed, unless you make prior arrangements with the Meet Director.
