Edited by Jack Steinhauser www.denverrceagles.org Denver R/C Club Meeting Minutes October 17, 2018 Regular Mee ng of Denver R/C Eagles was held on Wednesday October 17, 2018 at Colpar s Hobby Town, 1915 South Havana Street, Aurora, Colorado, 80014. Refreshments provided prior to start of mee ng. Mee ng called to order at 6:33 PM. Board Members present; Loren Anderson, President, Mike Eason, Secretary, Richard Lowrey and Rodney Ge y, Co-Treasurers, Joe Vedova, Safety Officer, Jack Steinhauser, Past President. A quorum is 9 members present. 27 members a ending, we have a quorum. New Members Chris Roehrs, Got into electrics and has been flying a Suhaka Field. Members there have been friendly and helpful, which Chris appreciates. Chris decided to join the club. Guests Steve Mar n had flown control line in the past. Wanted to come to club mee ng and check it out. Approval of Minutes from September Mee ng Mo on made by Paul Schlein and second by Mike Swan. Mo on passed Leadership Reports President- Loren Anderson Proposed bylaws changes worked on by Commi ee headed by John Dickens. Loren covered reasons for changes. Copies of changes passed out to membership for discussion. Vote on changes will happen at Message from President Loren Anderson Dear Members, November Events 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, 11/21 Club Mee ng Now that winter is se ng in, I hope that you have your projects lined up. We have had some good days and some bad days to fly which is typical of this me of year. I just returned from a trip to Aus n for a wedding that was as much fun as I could stand. I returned and called Rodney first thing to find out how much was spent in my brief me away. That usually happens when I am gone. The auc on this year was larger than last year and went off with out a hitch. We added a few dollars to our coffers over last year s total and it looks like the event will be even bigger next year. I want to thank all of you that made a spectacular effort to make the event a success. Thanks Guys! Club total for the event is $609.81. Bylaw changes will be emailed out at least 10 days prior to next mee ng for review. 2019 Budget Review will be reviewed at November Mee ng. Club receives approximately $7500 in dues per year. Denver R/C Eagles Air Shows Turbine Jets at air shows has been a problem because they are not able to fly within the Suhaka Field s airspace. The Park has informed Loren that this must not happen again. Discussion concerning Turbines flying at Suhaka took place and nothing was resolved. All types of air cra must fly within the final bid on Wednesday. Secretary-Mike Eason Nothing to report Treasurer-Richard Lowrey and Rodney Ge y We have 135 current members. At this me last year we had 129. There are 33 new members. Dick reported on levels of accounts and the club is solvent. Safety Officer-Joe Vedova There has been several prop cut incidents recently. Wing p launching of pusher flying wings is safer if launched by the wing p. When se ng up planes removal of prop is encouraged. the designated airspace. Auc on at Wings over the Rockies Tom Neff Presented details on how the auc on works. Tom suggested that any planes you no longer fly be brought to auc on. There will be good deals there for all types of RC. Volunteers are s ll needed. Planning mee ng will be on 10/29/2018 at 6:30PM at Wings Over the Rockies. Jack Steinhauser shared that Bob Pash s Planes will be put up for bid in a silent auc on. Bob s wife wanted the planes to go to the Eagles membership. A minimum will be set on each plane. An email will be sent out. Bids will be open for three days with Director of Flight Training-John Dickens Current mouse count is at 76 Old and New Business Fun Fly for next Saturday. The Club needs volunteers for this to take place. Several members did so and Fun Fly will take place. Spot Landing, Limbo and Drive and Fly will be the scheduled events. Auc on Jack Steinhauser offered a 1200mm Foamy Corsair up. It has an upgraded 4s power system and is quite fast and fun to fly. George Mitsuoka won with bid of $90. 4
