Serious Dancer trainer Mr. J Deamer said that the mare would be spelled. Subway Surfer slow to begin. Our Tax Return over raced during the early stages. Race 2: Class 3 Handicap 1400m Winner s Lane slow to begin. Dan Roy hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Cinema Paradiso slow to begin. I Can Hear Music slow to begin. Gronky raced wide with no cover. Race 3: Benchmark 58 Handicap 2200m Villarrica reared at the start and lost ground (2L).
Dad s Boy pulled hard in the early stages. Southern Delight had to be steadied passing the 600m. Macmissile withdrawn on veterinary advice suffering from a skin condition. The gelding was treated on course by the club s veterinary officer. Race 4: Maiden Plate 1100m Ancascocha crowded at the start. Booyeah slow to begin. Mr Hussill slow to begin, then raced greenly during the early stages. Dynasty Di began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Race 5: Benchmark 66 Handicap 1100m Der Meister began awkwardly and unbalanced the rider. Rubel slow to begin. Race 6: F & M Maiden Handicap 1300m Bubblegum broke away from the handler behind the barriers, however was quickly recaptured and subsequently assessed as satisfactory to compete by the club s veterinary officer. Cortesta after being stalled beside a fractious runner in the barrier, was inspected by the clubs veterinary officer in the mounting yard after the field was returned to the enclosure during a delay to the start and then again behind the barrier when the field reassembled and assessed as satisfactory to compete. Ain tabay became cast in the barrier after being extremely fractious and when attempts were being made to free the filly, it lashed out several times and repeatedly struck the structure of the barriers, resulting in it sustaining an open comminuted transverse fracture of the mid cannon bone of the off hind leg. Ain tabay was immediately sedated and humanely euthanized. During this process all runners were returned to the mounting enclosure. The rider R Murray reported pain in her left knee from this incident. When correct weight was declared it was ordered that all bets made on Ain tabay, be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers, all
successful wagers placed prior to 4.25pm, be subject to the following deduction on the face value of the betting ticket: 1 st Angel Of Heaven 1 cent Win & 3 cents Place 2 nd Cortesta 6 cents Place 3 rd Palais De Louvre 5 cents Place A partial post-mortem report will be obtained. Star Factor after being stalled beside a fractious runner in the barrier, was inspected by the clubs veterinary officer in the mounting yard after the field was returned to the enclosure during a delay to the start and then again behind the barrier when the field reassembled and assessed as satisfactory to compete. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly was suffering heat stress and was treated by the clubs veterinary officer. Trainer Mr. P Perry was advised that prior to racing again Star Factor must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness. Race 7: C, G & E Maiden Handicap 1300m Brixton Town was held up for a short distance passing the 600m, then again at the entrance to the home straight. Schemer slow to begin. Allaru over raced during the early stages. Trematon was held up for some distance in the home straight and had to be checked and shifted in when attempting to improve into a very narrow run inside the 100m. Race 8: Class 2 Handicap 1100m Ednablue became very fractious in the barrier and when being removed from its stall, broke away from the handler and galloped through the fence at the rear of the 1100m chute and then through the perimeter fence of the adjoining rural property. After this Ednablue fell over an embankment and became cast in a dry creek bed on the property. Ednablue was immediately anaesthetized to enable its removal from its position. Ednablue was withdrawn at 6.06pm. During prolonged constant observation and treatment of Ednablue by the club s veterinary officer, it became apparent that the mare had lost movement in its hindlegs and was subsequently euthanized. A further operational report will be submitted. Vihara reared at the start, then shifted in abruptly in the early stages and lost considerable ground. Taking into account all the circumstances surrounding the starting of this event, including the inordinate amount of
time that runners were standing in the barrier, stable representative Mr. N Perry was advised that a warning for missing the start would be placed on the mare s racing record. Son D amour after being wide in the early and middle stages and rounding the home turn, hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Terravette became fractious in the barrier and was withdrawn on veterinary advice. Due to operational issues the timing of the withdrawal was delayed until 6.08pm. when correct weight was declared, it was ordered that all bets made on Terravette and Ednablue be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers, all successful wagers placed prior to 6.08pm, be subject to the following deduction on the face value of the betting ticket: 1 st Ibini 50 cents Win & 36 cents Place 2 nd Off The Dial 33 cents Place 3 rd Cloud Cover 36 cents Place Further, it was ordered that all successful wagers placed between 6.06pm and 6.08pm, be subject to the following deduction on the face value of the betting ticket: 1 st 5 cents Win & 7 cents Place 2 nd 6 cents Place 3 rd 6 cents Place Trainer Mr. L Tilley was advised that a warning for being fractious in the barrier would be placed on the racing record of Terravette.
