On the Brazilian domestic tour, Alison and Harley have defeated the Pedros twice. Alison and Harley are playing together for the fist-time on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour since the fall of 2006 when the Brazilians were eliminated during the country quota playoff rounds in Vitoria and placed ninth in Acapulco. Alison and Harley placed second in the 2009 SWATCH FIVB World Tour season opener in Brasila after losing the finale to Olympic medal winners Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos Harley and Pedro Salgado won nine SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medals, including 2008 stops in Australia, China, Italy, Switzerland, Mallorca and Brazil. Harley and Salgado won the 2008 SWATCH FIVB World Tour point s title. Harley was the 2008 SWATCH FIVB World Tour most outstanding player. Harley has also won SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medals with Para Ferreira (2002 Berlin), Franco Neto (2003 Berlin) and Benjamin Insfran (2005 Montreal and 2008 Sanya). Alison won a 2008 SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medal with Pedro Cunha in Bahrain. On the Brazilian Tour this season for four events, Alison and Harley have a 15-5 match mark with two final four finishes and two medals. Alison and Harley won the season opening event in Balneário Camboriú and placed third in Santa Maria where they defeated Emanuel and Ricardo for the bronze medal. When Cunha won his first international Beach Volleyball title (21 years, 3 days), he became the second youngest player to win a SWATCH gold medal behind Brazilian Andre Lima (20 years, 10 months, 29 days). Cunha as won 16 medals in 60 SWATCH events with 20 final four appearances. Cunha and Anselmo Sigoli captured the U-21 title in 2001 in Le Lavandou, France. Salgado captured three junior FIVB world titles, including the U-21 gold medals in 2003 (with Pedro Cunha) and 2006 (with Bruno Oscar Schmidt), and a U-18 crown in 2002 (with Ian Borges). Salgado and Harley Marques of nine SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medals, including 2008 stops in Australia, China, Italy, Switzerland, Mallorca and Brazil. Salgado and Harley won the 2008 SWATCH FIVB World Tour point s title. When Salgado won his first international Beach Volleyball title (21 years, 1 months, 8 days), he became the fourth youngest player to win a SWATCH gold medal behind Brazilians Andre Lima (20 years, 10 months, 29 days), Pedro Cunha (21, 0, 3) and Guilherme Marques (21, 1, 3). Salgado has won more SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medals before his 23rd birthday than any other player. Emanuel Rego won four FIVB titles before his 23rd birthday. Salgado s mother (Isabel, one gold, six FIVB medals) and two sisters (Carolina and Maria Clara, one gold, five bronze medals) have competed on the FIVB Beach Volleyball tour.
