This is the 12th-time Brazil and China have competed for a SWATCH women s gold medal with Brazil leading 8-3. Wang and Zuo are playing in their third SWATCH FIVB World Tour event together after placing seventh and fourth in the last two international 2008 events in Thailand and Sanya, China. Wang claimed the silver medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games with Jia Tian. Wang and Tian won three SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medals, including two in 2006 at Klagenfurt and Warsaw, and one in 2007 at Shanghai. Wang and Tian defeated compatriots Chen Xue and Xi Zhang for a 2007 FIVB Challenger/Satellite gold medal in Hong Kong. Wang and Tian won the bronze medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Oatar. Wang is currently ranks 19th in career individual FIVB earnings (US$368,150) Prior to the Sanya fourth, Zuo had competed in one previous SWATCH FIVB World Tour final four with a 2006 fourth with Ying Zhang as China had three teams advance to the Shanghai semi-finals. Talita and Renata won five SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medals, including two in 2005, two in 2007 and one in 2008. Talita and Renata won 2008 Shanghai event by defeating compatriots Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca in the finals 21-18 and 22-20 in 41 minutes. Talita has now won 12-straight matches in Shanghai, including the 2007 bronze medal match, six-straight in 2008 and fivestraight this season. The first seven wins were with Renata. On the Brazilian Tour this season for four events, Talita and Antonelli have a 16-3 match mark with two firsts and a seocnd. Talita was named the SWATCH FIVB World Tour top rookie in 2005. Talita was a bronze medal winner with Maria Clara Salgado at the 2002 SWATCH-FIVB World Championships for players under the age of 21 in Catania, Italy. Talita won the 2008 Queen of the Beach title in Brazil. In four SWATCH FIVB World Tour seasons together, Talita and Renata competed in 59 events together with 13 podium placements, 20 final four apearances, $692,550 in earnings (fourth all-time on the women s team list). The pair posted a 237-105 match mark together. While Talita and Renata were the third-ranked team on the 2008 SWATCH FIVB World Tour, Antonelli and Vanilda Leao ranked fifth with a 59-23 match mark and two podium placements. Antonelli captured a SWATCH FIVB World Tour event in 2008 with Vanilda Leao at Kristiansand, Norway. Antonelli captured a SWATCH FIVB World Tour silver medal in 2008 with Vanilda Leao at Marseille, France.
