INTRODUCTION ANOTHER STEP IN EXCELLENCE The last two years have seen major steps forward in development for KTM s highly-popular Enduro range. A new generation arrived for model year 2017 that had been re-designed from the ground up, followed by the revolutionary and world s first serial production fuel-injection 2-stroke offroad competition machines with the KTM 250 EXC TPI and KTM 300 EXC TPI models launched last summer. It has been a fruitful time in the orange offroad world. However, work never ceases at the KTM R&D department in Mattighofen, Austria and KTM once again has further refined these exceptionally dynamic, low-weight and high-performing machines across the entire 2-stroke and 4-stroke range. Each model year 2019 machine receives suspension revisions from WP, a factory-looking READY TO RACE orange frame along with detailed refinements that complement the high-quality Brembo brakes, No-Dirt footpegs, NEKEN handlebar, CNC milled hubs with high-end black Giant rims and more that comes as standard on these championship winning offroad bikes. In addition, the closed-course carbureted KTM 125 XC-W and KTM 150 XC-W machines enjoy a more in-depth engine update along with a newly designed DS clutch. 3 Another record year in 2017 with 238,408 units sold across both brands of KTM AG equaling a 17% sales increase, and now with over 3,200 employees worldwide, the KTM AG expansion globally is very visible whilst the racing accolades continue to grow. With a changing formula for the sport of Enduro, and KTM s ever-expanding headquarters in Austria having continued focus on developing machines with outstanding performance and rideability, the KTM EXC model year 2019 line-up is a world-beating formula ready to attack the most challenging of terrain.

INTRODUCTION THE NEW ERA OF ENDURO Enduro competition is a sizeable part of KTM s rich sporting heritage and is a major player in the more than 280 world championships won by orange bikes. Last year once again saw many highlights for KTM in the Enduro scene around the world with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing s Alfredo Gomez winning the Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble and Jonny Walker winning the Red Bull 111 Megawatt hard enduro event. Josep Garcia enjoyed an incredible debut season in the senior ranks and with it the young Spaniard took an outstanding Enduro2 World Championship win aboard his KTM 250 EXC-F, adding to his great success at the International Six Days Enduro. 4 However, in 2018 KTM enters a new era of enduro competition with the all-new World Enduro Super Series (WESS), a championship that searches for the ultimate enduro champion. With classic and iconic existing events such as the Trèfle Lozérien in France, comprised with the hardest of hard enduros such as the Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble as part of the racing calendar, as well as beach racing and the world-famous Gotland Grand National in Sweden, competitors in this seven-round series need to be the total all-rounder to reign supreme. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team line-up of Jonny Walker, Taddy Blazusiak, who has decided to end his short retirement in lieu of the new challenge, Josep Garcia and Nathan Watson and their machines will be put to the test and finally the conclusion can be made on who is the world s most complete enduro rider. 2018 SuperEnduro World Champion Cody Webb, who has enjoyed many fruitful visits to Europe in recent years, will also join the competition aboard his FMF KTM Factory Racing machine. Video production thanks to WESS partner Red Bull Media House is sure to deliver the highest quality of coverage globally for competitors and fans alike, and with a huge mass audience at some of the most recognizable events in enduro racing, where any amateur can race against the pros in what is essentially going back to the very roots of the sport, it will be an interesting season no doubt.

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION FRAME All KTM Enduro models have a lightweight chrome-molybdenum steel frame featuring a proven and KTM specific design. Using a unique welding technique, frame elements of various cross sections are combined into a single unit. What results in high rigidity and a defined flexibility at the same time. The benefit for the rider is that the bike is extremely easy to handle and, combined with the finely balanced suspension, this type of frame design can also absorb hefty wheel impact energy. Add to that its high level of rider comfort, and this bike is a joy to ride. Another highlight of this innovative frame is that it also serves as a space-saving channel for routing a variety of liquids. Coolant, for example, flows from the cylinder head through the frame triangle to the radiators. In the TPI models, oil for the separate oil lubrication is routed from a filler cap assembly, located between the fuel tank and the steering head, via an oil line inside the upper frame tube to the oil tank. CHASSIS & SUSPENSION SWINGARM CO0LING SYSTEM The proven integrated KTM cooling system routes the coolant from the cylinder head through a well-protected routing system in the frame triangle directly to the efficient and rugged aluminum radiators. When designing the system, the flow characteristics of the coolant were precisely calculated and the airflow optimized using CFD (computational fluid dynamics) modelling. In addition, well thought-out radiator protections guarantee excellent protection against mud while at the same time serve as efficient crash bars. The KTM 450 EXC-F and KTM 500 EXC-F models also benefit from a radiator fan fitted as standard. 5 The brilliantly designed aluminum swingarm is casted in a single piece. This ensures that any inconsistencies and weak points that would otherwise be found in a welded swingarm are eliminated. The innovative PDS (progressive damping system) shock absorber is connected to the upper side of the swingarm without any linkage, which has become synonymous with KTM as a result of its outstanding suspension behavior. The connection uses only two bearings guaranteeing minimum weight and maintenance as well as easy access to the shock absorber. EXHAUST SYSTEM The noise limits specified by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) are a tremendous challenge for all motorcycle manufacturers. KTM is aware of this and has always put enormous effort into the development of state-of-the-art exhaust systems. As a result, all EXC models today benefit from lightweight, low-noise exhaust systems that meet all the legal requirements and also have a positive impact on performance.

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION AIR FILTER BOX The air filter box is designed to protect the air filter from dirt and grime and also provides maximum airflow with a minimum of intake noise. Inside the box, a large Twin Air filter element is mounted on a rigid cage, which also serves as a bracket to hold the air filter box in place. The benefit the uncomplicated compact design means the air filter can be replaced quickly and positioned correctly without the need for tools. E-STARTER & BATTERY With the exception of the KTM 125 XC-W, all EXC offroad competition models as well as the KTM 150 XC-W are equipped with an extremely robust E-starter. As of model year 2019, a more powerful lithium ion battery with an electrical capacity of 2 Ah is to be introduced. With the new power package, the bikes will start even more reliably than ever. 6 FUEL TANK All EXC fuel tanks are made of lightweight polyethylene and have a transparent surface. The benefit is that all it takes for the rider to estimate the current level of fuel in the tank is a quick glance. The fuel tank cap also features an orange quick release button to speed up refueling. After just a quarter turn, the bayonet mechanism springs open and the fuel pump nozzle can be inserted immediately. All fuel injected models are also equipped with an integrated fuel pump system and an additional fuel gauge, which alerts the rider when the fuel level is low via a lamp fitted into the speedometer.

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION FORK All offroad competition models feature the proven WP Xplor 48 upside-down fork, which KTM developed jointly with the specialists of WP Suspension. The innovative split fork incorporates a suspension spring in each fork leg, each fork leg has a separate damping function compression damping is fitted on the left-hand side, while rebound is on the right-hand side. Individual compression and rebound adjustments can be made by twisting a dial on the top of the relevant outer fork leg with 30 clicks available on each side. The fork offers outstanding response and damping characteristics. As of model year 2019, the damping unit will be given a slightly stiffer setting. This helps reducing bottoming out even more reliably during hard compression and the wheel keeps better contact with the ground on rebound. The SIX DAYS models benefit additionally from a preload adjuster fitted as standard, which can be adjusted in three stages. This comfort feature can be retrofitted as an option on standard models. The rider can even make the adjustments with ease in open country, since no tools are required. SHOCK ABSORBER The WP Xplor PDS shock absorber at the rear is the key element of the proven and successful PDS (progressive damping system) rear suspension design. All EXC and XC-W models incorporate this KTM technology, in which the shock absorber is connected directly to the swingarm with no additional linkage and thus ensures optimum progressive damping for Enduro riding conditions. An added benefit is its high resistance to bottoming out, which make the WP Xplor PDS shock absorber the first choice for serious Enduro riders. For model year 2019, WP has reworked the main piston on all models, thus improving the damping characteristics and matching the rear suspension optimally to the stiffer front end setup. 7 TRIPLE CLAMP KTM fits forged triple clamps with an offset of 22 mm to its EXC and XC-W models. With their solid grip, they offer a high degree of stiffness and are thus the perfect prerequisite for precise control of the front wheel. The handlebar has four different positions, enabling it to be adjusted for optimum rider ergonomics.

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION HANDLEBAR GRAPHICS BODYWORK & ERGONOMICS The design of the bodywork is the direct result of the long-standing partnership between bodywork designer KISKA and offroad specialist KTM, together with members of the brand s Factory Racing Team, whose competition experience has been fed back directly into the popular KTM EXC Enduro series. The key objectives for the design of the high-grade polymer components of the bodywork were to provide the rider with perfect ergonomics, ideal contact points, maximum freedom of movement and superb levels of comfort. The KTM models also have a slightly lower seat height for first-class handling. Another example of intelligent design solutions is evident in the I-beam structure of the lightweight mudguards. The shape of their contours gives them excellent stability and reduces the accumulation of dirt and grime. SPEEDOMETER In addition to having front and rear lights, all KTM models continue to be fitted with a multifunctional instrument as standard. Even the XC-W versions have a speedometer, although it is not absolutely essential. The tapered NEKEN high-strength aluminum handlebar can be set to four different positions. This enables each rider to adjust the position to his personal preference for optimum ergonomics. Equally flexible are the lock-on grips from ODI, which can be changed or replaced easily without the need for glue or wire ties due to the cleverly designed clamping device. Using the optionally available map select switch on the handlebar, the rider can change the engine power curve on the go and on the 4-strokes it is even possible to engage the revolutionary traction control for Enduro simply by pressing a button. BRAKES High-performance Brembo brakes have been fitted as standard to KTM s Enduro bikes for years. With lightweight 260 mm Wave brake discs up front and 220 mm discs on the rear wheel, this is the class-leading system when it comes to that crucial combination of stopping power and a transparent brake feel. A brand-new graphics kit makes the KTM line-up for the new model year really stand out. The frame, resplendent in the brand s distinctive bright orange, accentuates the aggressive design and perfectly matches the KTM slogan READY TO RACE. SEAT KTM seats in the Enduro scene have always been known for their excellent ergonomics. For the 2019 models, the seat has been redesigned specifically for this extremely tough discipline. It gets a new seat cover with foam strips, which makes riding the EXC models even more comfortable, while the seat offers more grip. 8 FOOTPEGS KTM footpegs with No-Dirt technology are designed to ensure that the footpeg pivots do not become clogged with dirt. In the event that the footpegs dig in when riding through deep ruts, for example, they will return immediately to the correct position. Compared with the SX footpegs fitted to Motocross bikes, the EXC footpegs are positioned 6 mm higher and thus offer greater ground clearance. If a rider prefers a lower position the footpegs can be swaped easily. WHEELS KTM wheels feature lightweight, CNC milled hubs and high-end black rims to combine maximum stability and ruggedness with minimum weight.

2-STROKE LIGHTWEIGHT OFFROAD FUN Rookie Enduro riders have been trying out these outstanding KTM Enduros since model year 2017. The KTM 125 XC-W and KTM 150 XC-W models are entry-level versions of the EXC series and are also the lightest Enduros on the market. The acronym XC stands for Cross Country, the W for the Enduro s wide-ratio transmission. These non-street legal sports bikes incorporate KTM s offroad qualities and in the course of the last few years have demonstrated in numerous offroad events that the brand s slogan READY TO RACE is no empty promise. This means that the lightest and cheapest Enduros from KTM are genuine heavyweights and, with the inclusion of numerous new features for model year 2019, they will continue to show others the way ahead in future in terms of both performance and quality. 9

2-STROKE CYLINDER CLUTCH ENGINE The XC-W engine is the most powerful and most competitive engine in its class. It appeals to Enduro riders because it has precisely the kind of power characteristics they need for optimum performance. During the development of the 2-stroke engines with a 125cc and 144cc displacement respectively, KTM engineers put their many years of experience and expertise to good use and incorporated nothing but the most advanced technology available to them. On the basis of this philosophy, the XC-W engine has now been upgraded for model year 2019. The result is that the engine, which is both light and compact, now develops more power with a significant increase in torque and an even smoother power delivery over a wide rpm range. CRANKCASE The lightweight, die-cast crankcase has been designed so that the crankshaft is very high and positioned close to the bike s optimum center of gravity. This enables the KTM 125 XC-W and KTM 150 XC-W models to weave through turns fast and feature amazing rideability. With a compact design, this is also a lightweight engine. In 2019, this efficient package will be even narrower the new clutch also includes a new clutch cover that reduces the engine width by 10 mm. KTM has also optimized the kick-starter system, which means a significant boost in terms of reliability. The engines powering the KTM 125 XC-W and KTM 150 XC-W benefit from new cylinders with a 54 mm and 58 mm bore respectively. Compared with their predecessor models, they now feature an exhaust port that has been CNC milled for optimum interaction with the power valve, which is made from a new raw part and also milled. As a result, both engines still deliver the best performance in their respective classes. The newly developed DS (diaphragm steel) clutch features a one-piece outer clutch hub combined with a primary gear made of high strength billet steel. This guarantees unbeatable reliability and, due to its compact construction, reduces the engine width by 10 mm. Incorporating steel carrier friction discs, the extremely heat-resistant clutch plates ensure reliable disengagement of the clutch. An additional benefit is that they are pre-tensioned by means of a specially designed diaphragm spring, which reduces the force required to pull the clutch lever. This is further enhanced by the use of Brembo hydraulics. CARBURETOR The MIKUNI TMX 38 mm flat slide carburetor provides smooth and controllable power delivery over the entire rpm range. 10 TRANSMISSION The new 6-speed transmission is made by Pankl. For the KTM XC-W models, all the gears have been completely upgraded and feature a high level of durability and fast gear changes. The gear ratios remain unchanged and continue to harmonize perfectly with the engine characteristics. KTM s No-Dirt technology is used for the gear shift lever and is designed to prevent mud and dirt from fouling the lever joint for reliable gear changing and high durability.

2-STROKE TPI THE 2-STROKE PARADIGM SHIFT The KTM 250 EXC TPI and KTM 300 EXC TPI models are the lightest Enduro models in their respective classes and are reaping accolades for their outstanding handling and top performance, in line with KTM s slogan READY TO RACE. TPI stands for transfer port injection. With this groundbreaking technology, KTM is clearly demonstrating its unbeatable expertise in the development of 2-stroke engines. The benefits TPI engines bring to KTM riders include significant improvements in fuel efficiency and low exhaust emissions. Electronic fuel injection also ensures that the EXC TPI models will run reliably even in extreme weather conditions and high altitudes. Engine lubrication remains automatic via an electronically controlled oil pump and separate oil tank. The benefit fuel and oil no longer have to be pre-mixed by hand. 11

2-STROKE TPI KTM 250 EXC TPI KTM 300 EXC TPI The combination of cutting-edge 2-stroke engine incorporating TPI electronic fuel injection and a lightweight, extremely agile chassis make the KTM 250 EXC TPI the first choice for hard enduro events. As a result of having an electronic oil pump, lubrication is automatic, so that fuel and oil no longer have to be laboriously mixed by hand. In addition, acquisition and operating costs are low compared to 4-strokes, making this bike a unique proposition. The KTM 300 EXC TPI, with state-of-the-art fuel injection and a very agile chassis is setting standards in its class. Aspiring riders with high ambitions will love its top performance and precise handling, in addition to the best power-to-weight ratio in the segment. BENEFITS» Reduced fuel consumption» Automatic elevation compensation, no re-jetting required» Enhanced rideability and performance» Reduced emissions» Smooth engine behavior» Reduced fuel evaporation, which also means less fuel smell in transport vehicles» Enhanced comfort and convenience: easy starting, no pre-mixed fuel, no flooding when flipping over the bike 12

2-STROKE TPI ENGINE EURO 4 The 2-stroke engines from KTM with displacements of 250cc and 300cc are very much in demand by Enduro riders because ultimately they deliver the best possible performance in their respective classes. For model year 2019, KTM will continue to expand its leading position in these areas as a result of the revolutionary TPI electronic fuel injection, the engines work more efficiently than ever and are ecstatic to ride with their outstanding performance. It s no surprise then that the KTM 250 EXC TPI and KTM 300 EXC TPI models will remain the first choice for ambitious Enduro riders who are looking for an affordable bike with low maintenance costs. CYLINDER The two single-cylinder engines with displacements of 250cc and 300cc have bore diameters of 66.4 mm and 72.0 mm respectively, in addition to being fitted with sophisticated TVC (twin valve control) exhaust control and intelligent electronic fuel injection. The cylinder features two lateral domes holding the fuel injectors that inject fuel into the rear transfer ports. The downstream injection guarantees excellent atomization of the fuel with the upstreaming air. This results in highly efficient combustion with significantly reduced losses of unburned hydrocarbons. A small-diameter tube at the back of the cylinder is connected to an intake pressure sensor, which supplies pressure data to the engine management system. OIL PUMP The oil pump is mounted in a safe and space-saving location underneath the oil tank. It feeds oil to the throttle body, where tiny quantities are mixed with the incoming air to lubricate the moving parts of the crankshaft and piston. Using engine speed and throttle position sensor data, the engine management system s precise electronic control of the electric oil pump ensures the perfect amount of oil for any given conditions, loads and engine speeds is added. The average fuel-to-oil ratio is approximately 80:1. The filler cap assembly for the oil tank is located between the fuel tank and the steering head. Oil flows from here through a hose inside the upper frame tube into the oil reservoir. An automatic, electronically controlled oil pump is also incorporated, which reduces smoke emissions by over 50 per cent compared with the average pre-mix. As a result of the efficient combustion process a major factor for which is the TPI system and the precise automatic system, all KTM EXC TPI models comply with Euro 4 emission regulations. Emissions of unburned hydrocarbons have also been reduced significantly and are below the legal requirements. THROTTLE BODY TPI engines are fitted with a 39 mm throttle body made by Dell Orto. While the power is controlled by the throttle valve, a throttle position sensor provides the engine management system with intake airflow data. A throttle adjusting screw enables the rider to regulate the idle speed. A cold start device is also provided, which opens a bypass to supply more air and thus increase the idle speed. Oil delivered by the electric oil pump via an oil suction pipe is mixed with the incoming air to lubricate the moving parts of the crankshaft and piston. 13

2-STROKE TPI TRANSMISSION KTM has a strong 6-speed transmission with widely spaced gear ratios matched optimally to the tough requirements encountered in competitive Enduro events, and features fast and smooth gear changing. The KTM No- Dirt gear shift lever design prevents mud and dirt from entering the joint of the lever, ensuring that gear changes are trouble-free. CLUTCH BALANCER SHAFT KTM has made a point of positioning the clutch shaft and crankshaft high up in the lightweight, die-cast crankcase and close to the bike s center of gravity. In this way, the manufacturer has centralized the oscillating masses, giving its Enduros excellent agility. The engine features a side-mounted balancer shaft, which keeps engine vibration levels to a minimum and results in a compact powerplant. A major benefit compared to the competitors is the noticeably increased level of comfort, which significantly reduces rider fatigue on long and arduous Enduro multi-day events. All KTM EXC TPI models are equipped with the DDS (damped diaphragm steel) clutch developed by KTM. With its diaphragm spring, integrated damping system, extremely heat resistant clutch plates and a wear-free steel outer clutch hub, this design results in a much easier clutch operation than is the case with conventional clutches using coil springs. At the same time the diaphragm spring leaves sufficient space to integrate the damping system of the final drive into the clutch hub. This has a positive impact on both traction and durability. The hydraulic clutch mechanism from Brembo has a particularly light action, allowing plenty of control when applying the clutch. GENERATOR In order to cover the power requirements of the engine management system, the TPI models are fitted with a powerful generator, rated at 196 watts, just like on the EXC-F 4-stroke models. ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM The engine management system featured in the KTM EXC TPI models incorporates the most advanced technologies fitted in any offroad bike with a 2-stroke engine. The electronic control unit installed under the seat uses various, sensor-based data such as intake and ambient air pressure, throttle valve position and coolant temperature, which are used to determine the optimum ignition timing and the ideal amount of fuel required for the fuel injection system. An additional benefit is that the engine does not need to be set up manually to compensate for changes in prevailing environmental conditions. Using the optionally available map select switch (fitted as standard on the SIX DAYS models), the rider can select a different engine power curve during the race. 14

4-STROKE PLAYFUL & AGILE POWER The range of KTM 4-stroke Enduros extends from the lively KTM 250 EXC-F to the awesome KTM 500 EXC-F. This means that KTM s range includes the most appropriate Enduro for both amateur riders and professionals. State-of-the-art engines with electronic fuel injection deliver high-performance coupled with long service life that countless Enduro riders around the globe are delighted with. Another feature of these powerful machines is the well-conceived design down to the smallest detail, which has been a major factor in reducing the weight and centralizing the masses. All 4-stroke engines come up with different characteristics but a lively performance that is supplemented by the innovative KTM chassis is common to all. From local club level to professionals competing in national and international championships like WESS, KTM has four different 4-stroke bikes available from its EXC-F series to cover all terrains and riding conditions. 15

4-STROKE CLUTCH E-STARTER KTM 250 EXC-F The KTM 250 EXC-F, the smallest model of the KTM 4-stroke range, is a great choice for motivated amateurs and ambitious pros alike. It has a super compact, powerful engine that combines minimal weight and masses positioned close to its center of gravity to deliver awe-inspiring performance and unbelievable handling in its class. Sharing many components with the successful KTM 350 EXC-F powerplant, the engine offers class-leading performance with plenty of torque thanks to its state-of-the-art fuel injection system. The KTM 250 EXC-F instils confidence with superb handling, fantastic throttle response, perfectly controllable but lively power delivery and the latest technologies, which combine to place this bike at the top of its segment. TRANSMISSION The Brembo hydraulic system is one of the best there is on the Enduro market. Whether shortly after the start, on long rides or in tough competitive events the Brembo system operates the clutch reliably and the pressure point remains unchanged, regardless of the operating temperature. The DDS (damped diaphragm steel) clutch developed by KTM has a single diaphragm spring instead of conventional coil springs. The rider benefits in that he requires less effort to operate the clutch. The damping system integrated directly inside the clutch hub increases traction and extends the life of the clutch. ENGINE The DOHC (double overhead camshaft) engine of the KTM 250 EXC-F is a perfect example of a compact, lightweight design. It also develops the highest torque in its class and has power on tap all the way up to 12,800 rpm.
