We are kicking our off public skating season Columbus Day Oct.8 th f ollowing our 2 nd annual Touch a Truck event. On Friday Oct.12 th at 7pm our regular public skating hours will start for the season. City Police, Fire and DPW vehicles will be on hand for kids to explore and the Recreation Dept. retired Zamboni will even be onsite! S E N I O R G OLD P ROGRAM C O N T I N U E S AT T H E YMCA For a fourth year, the Geneva Family YMCA and City of Geneva are partnering up to offer Senior Programming. The Gold program was created for residents 65yrs of age or older with an interest in healthy activities. Seniors have access to the Geneva YMCA Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9a-12pm.One aquatics class and one aerobics class is scheduled for each of these days for a total of six free classes per week. Additionally, city residents have complete access to the Y s Fitness Center, Cardio Room and pool during this time. The program is funded by the City of Geneva and is free for qualified residents. The Gold Card program cards can be obtained by completing an application at the Geneva YMCA and by providing proof of residency. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Beginner Info: This course will cover manual controls such as aperture, ISO, and shutter speed controls, JPEG and RAW formats, types and functions of optical lenses, use of natural and artificial light, image composition, and post processing. Lighting DSLR Photography Sessions with Dan Bell Dates: Saturday Nov. 17 Times: 9:00am-12:00 Location: City Hall Team Meeting Room 2nd Floor Fee: $55 City/Town $70 Non-Residents This course will help you understand using artificial lighting with your camera, and get the most out of your flash equipment in a fun and relaxed environment. Owning a flash is not a requirement, but it helps. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Lighting Info: This course will cover technical aspects of flash photography including ttl and manual flash settings, on/off camera flash, modifiers and gels, speedlights and studio flash, mixing ambient and artificial light, and assessment of natural light. The 24th Annual Light Up Geneva Auction is on November 14 at 5pm at FLX Live on Exchange St. All the money made during the event goes to the purchase and maintenance of all the holiday lights and decorations seen downtown. Geneva does have something on their wish list this

Instructor: Edie Falk The perfect program for first time skaters! Skate rentals are included in the program fee! Join Edie on the ice as she teaches basic skating skills.
