SUMMARY CONTINENTAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER DEBRIEF Our wish is to harmonize all our projects under the ETTU development programs as much as possible with current requirements that determine all our efforts in bringing future value and quality of our young players to the level of best Asian players (mostly from China and Japan). This is why, last year, we launched two of our new projects, namely ETTU NA's Assistance Program and the U-17 Program. They were well-accepted and they were based on our hopes and the fact that, after a long time, our young players (junior category players) won 6 medals on the previous two WJC (Cape Town / Riva del Garda) and were equally matched in terms of quality with the best Asian players. However, the fact is that the total number of our selected players is significantly lower than the number of players available to our Asian competitors. Therefore, we have decided to direct all of our development programs in the ETTU towards, not only identifying and selecting young players or supporting their development activities, but to significantly improving the number and quality of our educational programs. The reason for this is a well-known fact that all of our young players, who are amongst the best in Europe, are mainly coached by very young (still not well-known) coaches, who are very motivated, but they still lack expert knowledge and experience. Therefore, we have decided to additionally expand our educational programs, which we are implementing in cooperation with all members of the ETTU. In addition, it is our pleasure to point out that all our Development programs in 2018 include a total of 26 programs in several development areas (Eurotalents TI&S, Development Camps U-13, Development Camps U-17, Hopes Selection Camp, Education Program Woman Coaches Seminar, Annual Coaching Conference, World Cadet Challenge, ETTU NA's Assistance Program). Regarding the realization of all our programs, our wish is to achieve even better results in the near future and within the framework of an equal annual planned budget. ETTU Development Manager Neven Cegnar, prof. Page 3

HIGH PERFORMANCE Slovenia Otočec ETTU Development Camp U13 Dates: 18. -25.3.2018. Expert: Name (Country) Budget: 6959 Funding: Development program Coach Education Officials Education Athlete Development Para Table Tennis Males Females Males Females Males Females Males Females - - - - 12 5 - - STTA were invited and entrusted with the task of holding a first ETTU Development Camp U-13 for the selected players in 2016 / 2017 by the European Table Tennis Union. Due to the fact that most participants are 12-13 years old, and at the beginning of their playing careers, their basics and fundamentals are relatively weak, this training camp was very important for them. Therefore, on requests of the ETTU, the objectives of the camp were to: help young players to improve fundamental knowledge of the sport of table tennis, grasp the proper strokes of individual skills (forehand attack, backhand attack, footwork, serve, return of serve, serve and attack and tournament mindset), acquire and establish training methods of fundamentals and core skills (mainly on shot quality and consistency), experience the competition system, enhance tournament capabilities, raise coaching skills through discussions with trainers. At this camp participated 17 players from 10 different countries. CRO: Hana Arapovic, Petek Borna, Zlatkov Luka CZE: Belik Simon, Zederova Linda LTU: Sisanovas Ignas NED: Camara Gabrielius SVK: Goldir Jakub POR: Maciel Luis, Kong Rafael, Monteiro Silas BEL: Van Hauwert Julie BLR: Varabyova Veronika GRE: Papadimitriou Malammatenia HUN: Kizakisz Nikolasz, Szantosi David The main targets of this training camp were divided in 2 parts. In the first part the target was basic strokes, basic footwork, stability and active and passive game. In the second part the main target was how to use tactic in the game. Coaches should prepare together with players some tactical variations and then use it in the game. Exercises were 10 minutes long. I asked the players for high Intensity during the training and we didn t have a break during the training sessions. Page 7

We had 9 training sessions; one day we played tournament and we had free the other half of the day After the morning table tennis training we had two 45 minutes long physical sessions with our fitness coach Mate Lejo. Joze Urh prepared one evening session where he talked to the coaches and players about Tactic in Table Tennis. He prepared a PowerPoint presentation and we used the conference hall in the hall. Yefremov Alex also prepared one evening session and talked about Video analysing in Table Tennis. Neven Cegnar ETTU Development Manager had a meeting with all coaches and players and presented them through the details of the ETTU Development Program, but also spoke to them about the main guidelines in the individual development of young players in Europe.
