WHITECROSS DISTRICT TOURNAMENT Girls Under 14 T20 2018
General Infrmatin Except as specifically prvided fr hereinafter, the Laws f Cricket (2018 Cde) and any subsequent changes shall apply t all matches. Where applicable, ACA Bylaws shall als apply. The Turnament Referee shall rule n any matter relating t the enfrcement r interpretatin f these playing cnditins and their decisin shall be final. Details f any disputed matters shall be recrded in any Turnament Reprt. Any disputes cncerning results and assciated matters shall be referred t and be reslved by the Turnament Referee whse decisin shall be final and binding. Eligibility T be eligible fr the turnament all players must be Under 14 n September 1 2018 and must have been playing regularly in the ACA Cricket Express Junir Leagues. Selectin f yunger players is at the discretin f Districts. All players can play in nly ne District Turnament per seasn, except where they have played the equivalent f 2 full games r less and nt played in the final r third place playff in anther District Turnament in the same seasn. Players t play fr a District, must be eligible t play fr a Club f Origin team within the District. They d nt have t play in a Club f Origin Turnament t play in a District Turnament. Districts may impse additinal requirements fr eligibility such as requiring players t jin a Club within their District in at least an affiliate capacity. Players living ut f the ACA cricketing bundaries e.g. Cunties but playing regularly in the ACA junir cricket express league, are eligible fr district Teams. Players, having played in any ther Majr Assciatin (e.g. ND) trials r selectin turnaments, are nt eligible fr any District in this turnament. Squad Size & Cmpsitin Matches will have 9 players batting, and 11 players eligible t field/bwl t manage ttal number f vers bwled by medium/fast bwlers ver the Turnament (max 9 n field). Players are nt allwed t be mved between squads within the same turnament. Weather Interruptins Each venue shall have an appinted lead ACUA umpire. In the case f bad weather, all matches n that venue shall cease at the same time and umpires will reprt t the turnament manager fr infrmatin n the resumptin f play. The turnament manager may at his sle discretin, decide whether all games will resume at the same time r as the pitches becme available. Where weather cnditins seriusly impact upn the turnament, the turnament manager has the right t amend the turnament structure and playing cnditins.
Declared a draw if 5 vers fr T20 and 20 vers fr Limited Overs in each innings is nt pssible due t weather cnditins. If weather interferes with play, the number f vers in the match shall be reduced by ne ver fr each cmplete fur minutes f playing time lst, cunting back frm 20 r 40 depending n the frmat. If an interruptin ccurs in the innings f the team batting secnd, its target scre shall be calculated by using the DLS methd as calculated by CricHQ. The turnament manager may direct a change f venue due t weather r grund cnditins. Turnament Winners The winner f the turnament shall be determined by the utcme f the champinship final match. If the match is unable t be cmpleted, r is a tie, the tw teams cmpeting the final shall be declared jint winners. Cmpetitin Frmat Under 14 T20 20th 21st December (Rain Day 22nd) 2 Artificial Pitches Te Atatu Park. 4 Teams (4 Districts), 4 T20 Games including final, 2 Day Turnament. All matches are t be played n artificial wickets. Cmpetitin Pints The cmpetitin pints fr all matches shall be as fllws; Result Type Pints Win 3 Tie/N Result 1.5 Lss 0 In the event that tw r mre teams have the same number f pints, the higher placed side shall be determined by Net Run Rate (NRR). In the event that NRR is als equal, the higher placed side shall be the team that had the mst victries ver the teams with which it was tied. Where this methd des nt prvide a superir side, a bwl-ff shall be rganised by the turnament manager. Net run rate If a net run rate is required t assess a team's placing in a cmpetitin, r fr any ther reasn, the net run rate shall be calculated as fllws: (a) the aggregate number f runs scred shall be divided by the aggregate number f vers received; (b) the aggregate number f runs cnceded shall be divided by the aggregate number f vers bwled; (c) the sum calculated pursuant t sub-clause (b) shall be deducted frm the sum calculated pursuant t sub-clause (a) and the sum remaining shall be the net run rate. Trphies Medals will be prvided t each member f the winning team. Trphies fr players wh take 5-wicket bags, hat-tricks r scre a century will be created pst-turnament. Overall Turnament Hnurs Fr the Limited Overs Turnaments, the Peter Badley Shield will be awarded acrss these turnaments: U18 LO40, U17 LO40, U16 LO40, U15 LO40, U14 LO40 bys
Fr the T20 Turnaments, the Martin Guptill Cup will be established and will be acrss these turnaments: U19 T20, U16 T20, U14 T20 bys U15 T20, U14 T20 girls. Pints will be allcated fr each based n the psitin the District Team (if a District fields a secnd team in a Turnament the secnd team will nt earn pints) finished in each Turnament as fllws: 5 pints fr first. 4 pints fr secnd. 3 pints fr third. 2 pints fr furth. 1 pint fr fifth. Cde f Cnduct ACA will be requiring all caches, managers, players and parents that participate in Turnaments t abide by the cde f cnduct stipulated by ACA. Signed acceptance f the Cde f Cnduct is required t be received by ACA at least 4 weeks prir t the Turnament start date. If an individual r team breaches the cde f cnduct, the fllwing penalties shall be incurred by the team: (i) First breach: The team and District t which the team belngs shall receive a verbal warning f the cnsequences f a further breach by the Turnament Directr. (i) Secnd breach: The team and District t which the team belngs shall receive a written warning f the cnsequences f a further breach by the Turnament Directr. (ii) Third breach: The team shall frfeit the game where the breach ccurred. An individual player may receive additinal penalties if they are deemed t have breached the Laws f Cricket and/r the ACA Bylaws. Caching Districts are expected t ensure parents are nt caches/selectrs f teams their wn children are in. Caches shuld be invlved with their team fr a full preparatin fr the Turnament, which shuld include warm up games. If a Cach cannt make any day f a Turnament, it is expected that an assistant cach r manager that is familiar with the team be able t assist the Captain f the team n the day. If this persn is a parent f a player, ACA must be advised prir t the game in writing by the District Chair. Turnament Bwling Wrklads NZC is cming ut shrtly with new requirements t manage player welfare fr Turnaments fr Years 7/8 children. This wrk is extending the already published guidelines fr Year s 9-13 that can be fund in the NZC Game n Dcument. NZC s High Perfrmance and Cmmunity teams, after reviewing ur prpsal, they have determined that with the byes and rest days included in ur Turnaments, that the fllwing restrictins fr player welfare will be required: Year 7/8 8 vers per day, 4 ver spells, max 20 vers bwled during the turnament (pace/medium bwlers) Under 15 10 vers per day, 5 ver spells, max 32 vers bwled during the turnament (pace/medium bwlers) Under 18 10 vers per day, 6 ver spells, max 42 vers bwled during the turnament (pace/medium bwlers)
T allw teams t manage these bwler wrklads, the District Turnament Squads are being increased t 11 players fr 9 player cmpetitins and 13 players fr 11 player cmpetitins. In each game, 2 players can bwl and field that cannt bat. These players are t be rtated within the turnament daily. Additinal NZC Ntes: Fr all Turnaments (in general) that have byes as rest days wuld still mean that sme teams culd play 3 r 4 days in a rw depending n when their bye falls within their fixtures. Fr Years 7/8 including the 20 ver max allwance means: the fundamental purpse f the revised junir frmats, maximum invlvement fr all players, is still being met and the yung players bdies will be having suitable rest t prevent injury r prevent the chance f injury during the same seasn. the yung players get used t managing bwling lads at an early age and will help players t adapt t further bwling lad management during their yuth and adult cricket in the future.
T20 Playing Cnditins 1. Hurs f Play 1.1 Game One 9am t 12pm First Innings 9am t 10.25am: If the first innings is nt cmpleted by 10.25am the secnd innings will be reduced by 1 ver fr every full ver nt bwled and the innings break will be reduced. Secnd Innings 10.35am t 12pm: If the secnd innings is nt cncluded by 12pm, the number f full vers nt cmpleted will be multiplied by 6 runs and added t the secnd innings scre e.g. if innings is in 18th ver at 12pm, 12 runs will be added t the scre (2 cmplete vers multiplied by 6) and if pssible, the remaining vers will be cmpleted. Lunch 12pm t 12.30pm. 1.2 Game Tw 12.30pm t 3.30pm First Innings 12.30pm t 1.55pm: If the first innings is nt cmpleted by 1.55pm the secnd innings will be reduced by 1 ver fr every full ver nt bwled and the innings break will be reduced. Secnd Innings 2.05pm t 3.30pm: If the secnd innings is nt cncluded by 3.30pm, the number f full vers nt cmpleted will be multiplied by 6 runs and added t the secnd innings scre e.g. if innings is in 18th ver at 3.30pm, 12 runs will be added t the scre (2 cmplete vers multiplied by 6) and if pssible, the remaining vers will be cmpleted. Times are t be recrded and agreed by the tw scrers at the start and end f each innings. Scrers t als cnsider any delays fr injury r scring prblems at the time they ccur and jintly agree t add extra minutes befre penalties are impsed. Shuld a penalty be required in either innings, scrers are t advise the umpires/caches at the pint where the penalties begin t be incurred and at the cmpletin f the innings apply the apprpriate penalties. 2. Players, Officials & Spectatrs Cnduct This turnament is played in accrdance with the ACA cde f cnduct which embdies the spirit f cricket as set ut in the Laws f Cricket 2017. In additin, the fllwing prvisins shall apply fr caches, managers and spectatrs. N team fficial shall cmmunicate with any player r players n the field f play. Any difference f pinin with a player r fficial shall nt be discussed publicly nr withut due regard fr the feelings f the ther. Under n circumstance shall team fficials remnstrate with umpires. Team fficials and spectatrs shuld recgnise that the participatin and enjyment f the players is paramunt at all times. Their behaviur arund the players shuld reflect this. 3. Nminatin f Players 3.1 Prir t the tss, each captain must prvide a team list t the umpires. 3.2 The team list must identify players deemed t be pace bwlers (as per clause 6.4) 3.3 The team list must identify the wicketkeeper(s). 3.4 The team list must identify the player(s) wh will nt bat and the player wh will nt bwl. The nn-batter must participate as a fielder and bwler. The nn-bwler must nt bat belw number 5 and will act as a nrmal 12 th man fielder. 4. Tss Made n later than 15 minutes befre play starts. If a team is nt available, they will be deemed t have lst the tss. If a team is nt present fr the start f play they will be deemed t have lst the match. All players must be entered int CricHQ befre the tss. 5. Caches All Caches are t have cmpleted the Advanced Fundatins Caching Curse.
6. Length f Innings Limited Overs. Maximum 20 vers. The secnd innings shall cnsist f the same number f vers bwled in the first innings (r 20 vers if the team batting first has been dismissed in less than 20 vers), prviding that a result is nt reached befrehand. 7. Pitch Length 18m. Use marked lines at ne end and cnnect the tw marks prvided by cntractrs at the ther end fr the bwlers end stumps and a further 1.22m fr the ppping crease. 8. Bundaries 45m frm the middle f the pitch and marked by cnes r flags. Fielding Exclusin Zne Markers are placed 18m square either side f the stumps at bth ends. The square leg umpire is t psitin at the 18m marker. The fielding exclusin zne is deemed t be frm the umpire behind the stumps at the bwler s end r 20.12m frm the batter s end stumps, whichever is further, t the markers either side f the stumps at the batter s end. Further, behind square n either side f the stumps, n fielder can be within 18m except fr the wicketkeeper and ne slip fielder psitined n clser than in line with the wicketkeeper. Excluding the bwler, fielders may nly enter the exclusin zne after the batter has played their sht. Excluding the bwler, fielders may nly enter the exclusin zne after the batter has played their sht. If players encrach early, the umpire will signal and call a 'n ball' that the batter cannt get called ut n, including fr a run ut the batter cannt cntinue t run nce the bails are disldged. Fielders shuld field in prper cricket fielding psitins utside f the fielding exclusin zne. The exclusin zne exists t encurage quick singles and active fielding. 9. Ball A new Hardball Kkaburra Crwn Water Resistant Pink 142gm ball is t be used. A new ball can nly be taken at the beginning f each innings. 10. Declaratins Nt allwed. 11. Dismissals All dismissals cunt. 12. Stumpings Yes. 13. LBWs Umpires are t always give the batter the benefit f the dubt and nly give an LBW if they are cmpletely satisfied the ball wuld have hit and stumps and pitched crrectly. Any dubt at all shuld result in a nt ut decisin. 14. N balls / Wides Nrmal cricket laws apply. Any delivery which passes (r wuld have passed) abve the batter s shulder, r any full-tss which passes (r wuld have passed) abve the batter s waist, shall be called a n-ball. Any delivery that bunces utside f the pitch will autmatically be deemed a n ball. Umpires must agree wide-lines befre the start f play. There shall be n restrictin n the number f wides r n-balls which may be called in an ver. Wides and n-balls are wrth 1 run.
15. Duble Bunce Rule Called a n ball if the ball, withut having tuched the bat r persn f the striker, bunces mre than nce, r rlls alng the grund, befre reaching the ppping crease. 16. Bwling Restrictins Maximum 4 vers per player (maximum 2 vers per spell). A minimum f 2 vers f spin/slw bwling per innings. 17. Retirement/Batters Returning Cmpulsry retirement f batters after 30 balls faced (wides and n balls are nt cunted). Retired batters may nly return at the end f the innings in the rder they first retired (i.e. first retired batter returns first, next retired batter returns next and s n). Batters cannt be retired early unless injured. Returning batter cannt be retired a 2nd time nce returned t the crease. 18. Wicketkeeper One wicketkeeper is permitted fr the whle innings. N mre than tw wicket keepers are t be used during an innings t ensure that the match is nt unduly delayed. Wicket keepers can nly be changed during a scheduled drinks break. If a wicket keeper fields then they must als bwl the minimum number f vers. Wicket keepers must wear helmets. 19. Separatin f Players and Supprters Areas Befre and During Games All supprters are encuraged t attend games, hwever, t aid with develpment f players, supprters viewing areas must be setup at least 20m away frm the players area. Befre and during games, all supprters, are encuraged t stay away frm the players area where nly players/caches/managers/scrers can enter. Only umpires, caches r managers shuld prvide any befre r during game advice.
