Round Three KOM Series River Road We ve saved the best til last with the final event in the Hill Climb Series on this Sunday tackling the infamous River Road Climb!! There will be a group leaving town at 7am or else meet at Ferguson Falls at 8am when we will head out Pile Rd to Falcon Rd and then loop around before tackling the 3km hill climb. Coffee and jersey presentations back at Ferguson Falls and who knows Laura might even be convinced to make us some Cinnamon Scrolls.. The 2016 Tour of Margaret River promises to be the best yet. With a return to the popular graded format and a variety of stages to suit all types of rider, this will be one not to be missed. The South West Cycle Club has three club teams entered this year SWCC Racing Grant Eikelboom, Peter McDonald, Iain Ferry, Jaiden Lanigan, Vikram Cheema, Leon Olde SWCC Masters Steve Roberts, Kevin Keally, Andrew McGruddy, Chris Howard, Michael Morton, Ian Kugler SWCC Racing 2 James Shepherd, Marten Howes, Denny Teede, Brian Johnson, Phil Smith, Brent Allen The Eaton Dogs are also grooming up their best greyhounds to take part, Team Manji have been recruiting, there are potentially 5 teams coming out of Busselton and 3 Arimia Teams!!
Breakaway WA takes place in the week prior to the Tour of Margaret River so that visitors coming to WA will have the opportunity to see more of the state in the lead up to the tour. Setting out from our ruggedly beautiful Great Southern Region, moving through our magnificent Southern Forests and finishing in the stunning South West of Western Australia, Breakaway WA will take you on five unforgettable rides. From Albany across to Denmark, up to Pemberton and Manjimup and finally into the Ferguson Valley, these rides are open to anyone who loves to ride their bike. From the learner to the pro - everyone is welcome to come and breakaway with us. And it s not just you who will be breaking away with us. The Tour of Margaret River draws a number of the stars of world cycling to WA each year, and we will invite a couple of these stars to breakaway with us. All of our rides have been designed to showcase the best of our state in the safest way possible. 2016 SWCC Cristal Series We have the best three courses ever for this year s three race series. Each event consists of approx. a 40km graded road race followed by a 40km TTT. No team, no problem, we will put you into a team Don t want to race, but want to enjoy riding these circuits in a supported group ride. No problem, participation grade available with option of doing one or both legs. Race 1 Sun 14 Aug Pile / Mungalup Road from Wild Bull to Collie (RR) and return (TTT) Race 2 Sun 25 Sept Graphite Rd Manjimup. Meeting at Tall Timbers Manji with a neutral section out to picturesque Graphite Rd. RR to end of road and TTT back. Race 3 Sun 30 Oct Mowen Rd Nannup. Meet at Blackwood Café with a neutral out to start of Mowen Rd. 40km RR out and 40km TTT back. Great training for Collie Donnybrook, ToMR or whatever your goal
