East Anglia Fisheries Report: - These reports analyses data taken from out National Incident Reporting System (NIRS) and Case Management System (CMS) and cover the East Anglia Area. - Incidents relating to Fisheries may include illegal fishing, fish diseases, illegal fish introductions, damage to fish habitat, disturbance of spawning fish and fish kills from pollution and non-pollutions causes. - Maps are produced showing the geographical distribution of incidents/hotspots. - Please remember to report anything suspicious as this helps build up an intelligence picture and also report any sightings of dead or distressed fish immediately to the incident number 0800 807060 (it s on your rod licence). If you would like to know how the incident reported is progressing, ask the call handler for the incident number (unique to each reported incident) and feedback!
Invasive Species: - Please keep on reporting any non-native invasive species present direct to EA or via the Plant Tracker and Aqua Invader Apps which are available as a free download for IOS and Android. - Over 50 tonnes (minimum estimate) of floating pennywort removed recently from the Great Ouse. Lt Ouse Habitat Enhancement Project: - Large scale project working with landowners and partners. - Approximately 1.7km of river restored. - Trees dropped and pinned within the channel and berms and riffle and pools combinations created.
